This review is a mixed bag. Cliff's Notes for those who hate long & detailed reviews: good people/ REALLY bad tech. Read on for more detail. I do most transactions online or inside, and I have yet to use the ATM, so I can't speak to that. I have had nothing but great interactions inside the Clayton branch of TCU, even if they weren't always fruitful. If I could rate each aspect of my experience, I would give the stand alone bank itself 5 stars, calling customer service a 3 (long wait, really nice, but ultimately unhelpful), and the online banking gets ZERO stars. To be fair, I came from Chase because I wanted to leave the big banks behind, and I did not have the expectation that the tech aspect of my transition would be quite as good. That said, I didn't expect it to be this bad. For security purposes, I don't have my savings accounts attached to my checking account (yes, I have to be VERY mindful of overdraft charges!), my ATM card is only attached to my checking, and I only have a few bucks in my checking at any given time. So, there's only access to a few bucks in cash and none of my savings via my ATM card. So, I need access to all of my accounts, via the app, while on the go if I need to transfer cash to my checking account in case of an emergency. It took a couple of weeks, with a couple of trips to the branch and a call to customer service to even be able to access the app after I first opened my accounts. Bad start! Now that I can get into the app, the fact that I'm UNABLE to successfully open the app about 4 out of 5 times I try, and usually when I need it most, presents quite a problem, especially whilst traveling! Customer service was clearly irritated, not with me but, because it seems they are just as frustrated with this clearly ongoing issue, and not being able to help fix this problem. Sadly, they end up bearing the brunt of customer irritation! She referred my complaint to IT; I never heard from them and the issue persists. Another issue is that when I go to pay bills from my online account, I am unable to access bill pay unless I manually go into settings on my computer and "allow cross site traffic," which I have to then remember to click the protection back on after I pay bills. To figure out why I couldn't access bill pay, it was faster to Google why the bank wouldn't allow me to access online bill pay, than it would be to call customer service, which had not been all that helpful in previous attempts to get tech issues resolved. The best article I found explained the steps to take to be able to pay bills (allowing cross site traffic) and indicated there is a good chance that it's not the most secure setup if you have to make yourself more vulnerable just to pay bills, which didn't give me a warm & fuzzy, as someone whose had fraudulent activity done in my checking account at my previous bank. So, in closing the branch itself is 5 star for basic in person transactions and for that, I recommend TCU. But, if access to online banking is important to you, maybe think again.

Went to this branch with High Hopes as it came highly recommended from acquaintance. Walked in waited just a few minutes for a desk clerk who in a poor voice asked do you have a question. I said yes I'd like to open some accounts she said I'm just in the middle of putting a loan together (Apparently that pays more money and I'm not Important as I don't currently have an account) She begin by telling me not one but numerous negative things about opening accounts with them I sat there I go wow this is really bizarre if you really want my business. I explained to her I wanted business and personal and I want to refinance my house and possibly my vehicles I was able to get nowhere in a big hurry I am now driving to another credit union not slowly but as fast as I can to get away from this one wow this is bizarre behavior how to places to stay in business when their sales people come off in this manner she explained I'm the only person here today well God forbid you have to do some work. I currently have Navy Federal which the nearest branch is close to 400 miles away yet she insisted why I want to change credit unions there must be a reason she was right I don't like drive eight 400 miles to see somebody at a counter. I look forward to Seeing my acquaintance and ask him what the hell was on their mind when they recommended this place

Extremely irritating bank to deal with. My card is constantly getting blocked and I can never get ahold of anyone that knows what they’re doing. I get gas, food, pay bills and that’s pretty much all my money ever goes to so why does it keep getting blocked constantly?!

The staff at both the Clayton and Concord office have always been super friendly and helpful. There leading team is always professional and prompt. I can depend on Travis for my borrowing needs.

I use Travis for an auto loan and I have never had any issues. I've gone through them for 4 years now, with my very first car and now onto my second car. Salina is my go to when I need anything, she is so sweet and always trying to help in the best way she possibly can. She's very easy to talk to and makes it so easy to fix or adjust anything I need. Happy I found a good bank and definitely would recommend this location!

I like the people here and the location is quite comfortable (as long as you stay away from the grocery store , where parking is abysmal. ) I am actually closer to the Veranda, but am willing to drive a little extra to get the "Clayton" service.
