This is an outdated building. The room smelled musky. There were stains on the telephone (which allowed me no desire to use it). There seemed to be some kind of leak from the mini-fridge, the carpet was discolored around the site. And when I vouchered to touch the carpet, it was wet!!! WiFi is terrible, Netflix stopped working after an hour. Then, to top off my stay, the woman working the front desk upon my arrival was extremely rude.

Took my mom and daughter there for dinner service was a 10/10 food was 7/10. Gave her a $10 tip she earned it. Not alot of customers

Horrible experience EVER!!! Since day one. I got there and the room smelled like old people and dirty carpet. At night, I was about to lay in bed when I moved the sheets, I saw 2 black spiders running around. I called the front desk to let them know all they said is they can bring clean sheets. I didn’t make it a big deal because I killed the spiders. The next day, when I got to the room, the fridge started making a horrible annoying noise. I called front desk and they said they were sending maintenance and tell me if they showed up. Nobody did. I called to check on status and front desk never picked up. I called many times and not an answer. How can the front desk be alone? Then I complained about getting clean sheets and I was told housekeeping was on their way. Housekeeping never showed up. I call to check on status and I was told housekeeping closes at 5:00. So, why wasn’t I told this? I was stressed out I went to their bar to have a drink. Bar closes at 9:00 PM and it was 7:00 and the bar never opened. I just called it a night and went to sleep. The next day I complained to everyone how horrible their services were especially when I found spiders in my bed. Erika (front desk agent) told me she was going to speak to the Owner. When I checked out and my ride was waiting for me, she told me the Owner was on the phone and that she will call me back to discuss my options. Tell me if Erika called me back? As of today, I have still not received a call. I even emailed the property and never got a response back. I will NEVER STAY THERE AGAIN, that town is horrible and so many drug addicts in the street and that hotel seemed like it was a hotel for drug addicts, it’s a nasty and ghetto hotel. Horrible experience!

This place was very nice! Has an indoor pool which is a little hot for hot days in clear lake but was very nice will be back again

Very nice place to stay in a town that doesn’t have a lot of great options. Staff was friendly, room was very clean, bed was comfortable. I would definitely stay here again. Only issues: Most Best Westerns include a free breakfast but this one doesn’t, water pressure on third floor could be better (was adequate), noise from other rooms was an issue (thin walls).

4/19/24 one night stay, one person Room 410
#1, bed dilapidated , every time i moved, it was like a children were jumping on it.
#2, OMG, the air conditioner startup frightened me at first and kept waking me up all night each time it started.
#3 the final straw, i had a tight early start and discovered the shower would not turn on, the primary reason to get a room was to take a shower and it was thwarted by poor upkeep.
staff and "manager" Dilip acted so accustom to the issues , they offered no compromise
Beware to all and TEST everything before its too late
i wish i had a recommendation for a different hotel, but i have no idea and the area is overrun by drug and homeless infestations.

5 stars only for the hospitality from check-in to the AMAZING bartender Serene. (The spelling of her name is probably incorrect). She is so pleasant & loved her energy behind the bar. We had breakfast the next day and she was our server! The room was bad. There were ants. The food is not so good... The bartender made it a 5

Warning ⚠️ Do not stay at this hotel! It is dirty full of ants ?! Smells like old dirty musty socks and cigarette ? smoke! I woke up sick from the smoke. The owner allows smoking in the building which is illegal in the state of California. Gross!! The swimming pool was green! The refrigerator in the room was so loud I had to unplug it. The owner refuses to respond to my complaint. Very bad business! This is not a best Western the owner has ran this place in the ground and has made no improvements to this "hotel". If you wanna wake up covered in ants and smoke then good luck!

Warning Do not stay at this hotel! I woke up covered in ants and smelling like cigarette smoke and sick from the smoke! The owner will not respond to my complaint which is fine. I will make sure to warn people don't stay here very expensive for what it looks like and smells like. The owner allows smoking in the hotel which is illegal in California. Not sure why this place allows it and the place is filthy with a green swimming pool! I called corporate already and I believe the next call is the health department!

Our San Francisco High School baseball team traveled to Clearlake on 03/15/24 & 03/16/24. Several families stayed at the Best Western El Grande Inn. During our stay at El Grande Inn - there was a maintenance issue (NO HOT WATER), a group of us complained to the front desk, and they promised an adjustment to our final bill. We were told by the front desk staff a manager or owner will call us back by Monday 03/18/24. It's been a week no adjustments, no returned calls from property owner or anyone from management. We have filed formal complaint to Best Western Corporate to alert them of their franchise sneeky dealings, unacceptable business practices, and failure to maintain their premises. When traveling to Clearlake - AVOID the "Best Western El Grande Inn".
