The Best Western Big Country Inn is a charming little oasis and a good stop on a long drive, providing a clean and safe feeling in its isolated location near the freeway. The rooms are decent size, clean, and looked new, with some recently renovated. They are spacious, with comfy beds, fluffy pillows, good water pressure, and amenities like a microwave, refrigerator, and complimentary water. Bathrooms feature a modern look with quartz counters and back-lit mirrors. The staff is consistently friendly, helpful, and welcoming. The hotel offers a little free breakfast in the morning, which is overall ok and included, with some guests noting good items like salsa for the eggs. The attentive service at breakfast receives special praise. The grounds are well-kept even in hot summer conditions. For travelers with vehicles, including semi-trucks, there is ample truck parking available at the rear of the property. The immediate area has several restaurant options. A noted challenge is a prolific population of feral cats on the property, which can be an issue for guests with dogs despite the hotel being dog friendly. A small park is located down the street. Overall, it is considered a great place to stay, a true gem with a cozy environment and phenomenal upkeep.
The room was absolutely spotless. I'd definitely stay here again.

We spent a quiet night here in a very comfortable room. Breakfast buffet had many options and the staff is friendly.

The GPS took us through the middle of nowhere when selecting the fastest route from San Francisco to Diego at night time. The only hotel in our way was The Best Western. Turn out to be clean, remodeled rooms and super friendly staff. Highly recommended. Did not tried the breakfast.
