A small sweet town, is it worth going there especially? Probably not, but if it's on the way, it's worth stopping.

I was only there late in the day, so the general store was the only place I visited. Nice atmosphere, easy walk, try the saspirilla.Playground: Climbable rocks, probably not for younger kids.

Another great spot we just happened to discover while in the area thanks to come local recommendations from wineries here. This is a great little getaway to this area here where one can come explore an old town from gold rush times with some stuff being exactly the way it was in those days. The town has done ana amazing job of preserving its beauty and maintaining these things. Honestly you feel transported back in time and that is beautiful! We also went to grab a nice ice ram in one of the restaurants and happened to notice that the owner has a functioning piano from the 18th century there. This also somehow gave me perspective on the scale of things - everything was so close knit and near by .. the town center/grocerry store is literally walking distance from the jail.. and restaurants near by, to locksmiths stop. It’s quite an experience coming here and we loved to explore this as a family very muchPlayground: Lots of play area to play around for kids but none that I saw with swings and slidesRestrooms: Public restrooms available but also restaurants have them if you grab food thereDog-friendliness: I did see a few dogs so it’s friendly. You can’t take them inside restaurants may be need to check on thatPicnic area: There are benches near by so one can make them picnics areas

I like historical places. Columbia is a gorgeous throwback to the gold mining period. The buildings are testaments to a past I hope we don't forget, the displays thoughtful reminders of how far society has progressed. If you have a chance to visit, please do. Super kid and family friendly.

Don't tell them your from out of town or you won't be welcome here. Your just a valley person to them trying to raise their rent, yatta, yatta. And not friendly townspeople, I've been threatened and assaulted and harassed almost every time I just want a pizza or to go for a walk .Too many local drunks , not a safe place anymore due to hillbilly meth heads ruin the beauty of the mountains. And vandalism on my car due to the haters.

This is one of those fun historic towns with plenty of free places to visit and naturally, there are shops and other fun activities to do that are paid for. I highly suggest that anyone check out the shop that you are able to dip and make your own candle. I also recommend to take a peak at the various museum type places that are scattered throughout the town area.
