Took some birds to them for plucking and cleaning 2 times and both times were not given all the birds back. With the bad seasons we have had lately I want every bird I manage to shoot

It took 3 yrs to get my deer mount from Brent at Fur Fin &Feathers Taxidermy, and when I finally was able to pick it up I was truly disappointed. I began checking in every 6 months after the first year and every time I called got the run around and never a call back. The quality of work was the worst I had ever seen. The hair behind the ears was completely gone and had been painted. The young man working there blamed the tannery. The hair on the face was ruffled up and the sew line down the back was obvious and raised to the point you can’t miss it. One ear was broken off completely at the tip and he was crazy gluing back on when I got there. The antlers were covered brown stains and had black spots from flies all over and when I asked when it was finished I was told “I don’t know.” It clearly had been hanging for a long period of time. Huge disappointment.

If I could give less than one star I would. Has had a bird of mine for almost 2 years, with a $250 check and will not return any of my calls. Save yourself the money and trouble, use someone else.

The shop does good work when they work, unfortunately 30 months of waiting for my multiple mounts to be done is unacceptable. And work was not completed. Only received 1 of 4 mounts. My advice, find somewhere else to take your taxidermy work too if you want it back in a reasonable amount of time.

This is at least the third mount Fur, Fin and Feather has done for my family. Every time we're amazed at the service and quality of product. They do it all here. Need a game animal skinned out? Need ducks plucked? Need a fish mounted? Out of state trophy mount? Easy to get to in Colusa, not far from I-5. I drive from Mendocino County just to have work done at Fur, Fin and Feather Taxidermy. I highly recommend them!

Brent has been my taxidermy specialist now for the past 2 seasons. I drive an hour to get to him but he does a great job. I'm starting to have his fine work fill my wall space. From waterfowl to big and exotic game he's done it all. I've seen some other work out there for less but as a professional myself I'd remind you, you get what you pay for. Brent's work stands out in a good way. Ask around and you will find I'm not the only one who feels this way about his work. Great job!

Only gave 1 star because I can't give this business 0 stars. I dropped off a Blue-Wing Teal and Eurasian Wigeon here when I was in college only to have him call me a liar and tell me I never brought him any birds when I finally stopped in after 2 years of waiting to get them back. Will never bring birds here and will always tell anyone I can to avoid this place. 2 un-replaceable birds gone forever.

When we sold my late father's hunting lodge a few years ago, Brent cleaned up all of the birds so I could display them in my home office in memory of my dad's and his favorite pastime. Brent did an amazing job! I'm sure I was quite the sight pulling up in my convertible filled with taxidermist birds! What was the blonde city girl doing with all these birds in hunting land! I wish my dad could've seen it...I'm sure he was chuckling from heaven.
