Banfield Clayton was horrific. My dog was on the precipice of ketosis, very ill, she was refusing food. The woman on the phone at Clayton insisted the dog was fine and I should just keep her dental appointment the following day she has to fast anyway. I understand our needs didn't fit her scheduling duties. I will never go back to that clinic. When I called the manager after a night in the pet hospital, he had nothing to say other than 'Oh'. This occurred April 19, 2023 at 831am.

I've been going to Banfield for about twelve years, the Clayton office is one of my favorites, it's the one I call first.

I have tried and tried again.Incompetence at its finest.I have been going to banfield for a few years. For some reason this location is the absolute worse. Every time I’m in a bind and have to schedule here I dread going. Not once in 20 or more times has it been simple or easy or correct.Forgetting medications I’ve bought, not doing stool samples when they said they would, and canceling my dogs neutering but never called us. We showed up at 7am and they swore they called, but then also said the doctor just called in sick. So how did you call us before 7am when the doctor just called in sick at 7:05.Lie and more lies. One doctor there told us our dog had a sever liver issue, made us freak out because he was only 2 at the time. Took them to a different Banfeild and she said he’s totally fine. Probably just got hit in the side while roughhousing with our other dog. And that was exactly it. Everything was totally fine after, we re got the labs checked.Dr. Kim seems to always have money grab options, making it seem worse than it is.They “did surgery” to get a fox tail out of one of our dog and they never got it. They said it was all out and his paw was still infected. My husband and I got everything out ourselves. Total waste of time going here. Lack of communication is beyond frustrating with them. Some people who work there are nice, and some people who work there are very dense.Hopefully you have time and patience when going to this location. We will finally be canceling everything after all the pets get their exams since we’ve paid for the monthly option for the past couple years. 4 pets on their “active care plan”, it’s a waste of money for the service you get here.I could go on and on with all the issues we’ve had here. 2 of the vets here were amazing but they moved on and left Banfeild.

I brought my 11 week old kitten in recently because he'd been vomiting and not eating for 3 days. Dr. Sowkoor Shetty didn't seem at all interested; he didn't even touch my kitten once, and he barely acknowledged me. He was rude and dismissive. The first thing he told me was to "lay off the wet food for a little while", which indicated that he had no idea what the problem even was. I felt like I had to actually persuade him to run a blood test, because I was certain that there was more to it than just laying off wet food. After he ran the test, he told me that it appears my kitten does in fact have "some kind of infection", and prescribed him some antibiotics. I inquired how this would help if he can't keep anything down, and he just kind of... didn't answer me.A few hours later I took my kitten to VCA Encina Veterinary Medical Center, because I was pretty sure he was dying at this point. Turns out, he had a foreign object stuck between his intestines and his esophagus, and had to have emergency surgery. Had I not taken him to VCA Encina, he probably would have died.Banfield is great - my 13 year old cat has been in the network her whole life - but this particular doctor was awful. Do not schedule your appointments with him.P.s. this is at the Clayton location.

Doctor was under qualified! Do not take your pet here if you care about them! I told them that my puppy had a health issue which causes her to lose her balance, the doc and assistant did not care! She almost fell !!! ? they assumed she was, “learning how to walk”They did nothing to help my puppy! The only person with common sense is the male receptionist.

The only appointments they have are drop offs. If you ask why those are the only appointments they have, they tell you that you are free to go somewhere else. I dropped my dog off for an appointment in the morning. Received no phone call from them, so I decided to call them. They said that they had a lot of appointments and would take a look at my dog and call me back. They call me back and tell me my dog is ready and that they weren't able to give him his vaccines and I would have to come back at another time. I go to pick up my dog and I can tell that he is stressed and has to go to the bathroom. It was obvious no one took my poor dog out to go to the bathroom while he was there for a long time. Also in the past they have changed my appointment times without even calling me. I'm paying $70 a month for their wellness plan and this is the kind of service you get. Don't waste your time.

I've had no issues with my 11 mos old frenchie. They are definitely pricier than other vets but I have the puppy wellness plan and so far so good ?

We booked an appointment for our cat and confirmed it by email twice but when we got there for the appointment they said they had called us "literally 20 times" and had canceled the appointment because they needed verbal confirmation even though it didn't say that anywhere and we had confirmed in email TWICE. They were quite rude about it and didn't really have an actual reason for canceling the appointment. We had booked this appointment a month prior.

Been meaning to write this review for some time now. We switched vets just to be closer to our home and I'm so glad we did. The vet who met with us to check up our new rescue cat, Ollie, was so kind and knowledgeable. She spent a ton of time with us answering all of our questions. She has a wonderful way with pets and even Ollie really liked her - and he doesn't even like me! :) I was so pleased by this experience and will definitely be bringing my dog here too. It's a very calm environment which is just so good for my pets and the staff and vet were kind and capable! Very glad this place is in my neighborhood.

My experience with this Banfield location was awful. We had an appointment to put our 14 year old d9g down. It was already emotional and hard. They took him in to put in the iv and they were gone for 45 mins. My dog was crying so loud, whimpering , barking, in agony. I could see them thru the glass door. They kept poking him saying they couldnt get the iv to stick. They poked him for 45 mins. I watched. I brought my dog to go in peace, painless, and instead his last hour of his life was traumatizing, Unnecessary axiety and pain. Bull $*** if u ask me. I will never come back here. It was the worse experience ever. Untrainned vet tecs. Yall need to get more trainning. Unacceptable.

This place is a rip off. My dog was dying of old age and the veterinarian still wanted to do more tests, referred me to Sage for a second opinion then went back to Banfield and the veterinarian again took blood samples and charged me almost $500 the following day my dog died. I took her to another veterinarian to be put down because she was already worn down and suffering too much and this other veterinarian confirmed that she was dying and no further treatment could prolong her life. I wasn't interested anymore to find out the result of her tests from Banfield because I was already mourning my dog's passing. I pulled out my 2 other dogs from Banfield because I can't see myself going through another heartbreaking experience like this. This is not a hospital it's misleading because for serious problems they refer you to Sage it's just a clinic doing easy treatment/care and if you cancel early, they're going to make you pay for the balance or pay for whatever service incurred during your dog's annual plan even if your pet passed away. They also won't notify you if you're up for renewal they just renew you that's why keep a record of whatever you signed up for.

The Dublin Standalone location is awful. They don't care about the pets, they treat their employees poorly. Banfield is very money hungry. Take your pets elsewhere.

Been going here for the last year. My pet is a regular customer. They could work on building customer loyalty, there is an overall lack of flexibility for recurring customers. It’s understabable for customers to be a little late for appointments from time to time, and I constantly have to go back and re-schedule because of it. Today I had a quick vaccine appointment setup, for which I was a bit late, I was asked to re-schedule, since it was 4PM and they probably wanted to go home. It is important to know that on their email confirmation there are no policies or warnings about being late.If I’m an established customer, I expect a little more flexibility when it comes to timing. If not, communicate the late arrival policy in advance.
