I got my car towed to this spot only to add more issues to it and cost me MORE money. My car was stuck at my house for about 3 days, all three of those days I'd try to start it and it'd make a slow ignition noise, start up then turn off. Got it towed to this spot, they tell me it's the starter after about 20 mins then tell me it'll be fixed within a day. I get a call the next day and they tell me the engine is dead and they can help me install a new engine for an astronomical price. I decline and say I'll get a new opinion. Upon picking it up, the cars fully charged battery was completely dead. Then when the AAA dude had cables to the battery, the noise was completely different when starting the ignition. THESE guys messed with my car and damaged it without a doubt! SAVE YOURSELF from these sketchy mechanics !

My experience was not reflective of the 4.5 average star rating that this business maintains on Yelp. I struggle to give negative ratings on Yelp, but felt the need to for Clayton Quality Auto Service.I called at 12pm on Saturday asking if they had availability to replace my battery in my Honda CRV. I also asked if they had the specific battery on hand.Staff answered "yes" to both questions, and said "come on down, we can do that right away for you." Great! When I arrive, staff immediately began to take the old battery out of the car. After about 15 minutes of waiting, I was informed that the new car battery was actually not in stock, and that they would have to order it. Not a huge deal, it happens. It was at this time I was quoted $220 for the parts/labor. A little more than I would like to pay, but I understand. I ask "ok fine, when will the new battery arrive?" 15 minutes I was told, sounds good.I wait at the shop for an hour and 40 minutes before the new battery finally arrives and is installed. Staff rings me up and says "that will be $272"Wait a minute, you said $220 an hour and a half ago? "Yeah well the first guy I called didnt have the battery so we had to call another shop." I was not informed of this throughout the hour and a half I was sitting at the shop. So I'm curious and look up how much the battery actually costs online, and its $134. So even if they're upselling the battery a bit, I'm skeptical that a 10 minute battery install should bring the total to $272. Staff knocked off $12 to bring the total to $260 as a courtesy. I understand auto work is not easy, and small businesses work hard each day. That said, these folks were not transparent with me and I was dissatisfied with the service. 2 stars because ultimately the battery was installed

My car need an engine. It took them three weeks to replace it and the engine after 5 months got messed up again. I don't suggest anybody taking their car there. I don't think they know what the heck they're doing.

I had some really bad experience and bad air shocks on my vehicle that was installed by another mechanic shop last year. "Sully" inspected it, gave me some professional advice, replaced it with a conversion strut kit, instead of air shocks. Because I had 20 inch rims and tires on my 2014 Chevrolet suburban rear 2wd. Everything came out excellent, he was honest and told me it's normal my suspension light will stay on, but not worry. It will at some point go off, or stay on and he told me that's a button I can push on my dash board it will turn it off everytime. It rides smoothly now I recommend everyone to this AWESOME SHOP, but be specific of what you are experiencing as much as you can.

I had gone to Clayton Quality Auto for oil changes (brought my own oil in), once asked them to fix a valve stem in one of the wheel (when someone burnt it) and did some other simple troubleshooting.Services were usually prompt. They were honest, quite up front about what work they can or would not be able to perform.

I've been taking my car here for years and felt comfortable getting to know Mike and his family, happy with the service. Overall car service had been fine since ownership changed -- though the crew didn't seem consistent visit to visit enough for me to learn anyone's name or get a sense of the new crew. Today I went in for a oil change in the afternoon ALL staff was taking their break out front - I pulled around back expecting to at least have someone check in with me. I had to walk through the office to the front table and ask if I should come back later. They said yes, 20 minutes. When I came back the service was fast, but not friendly or professional. Many folks weren't wearing uniforms including the clerk who quickly checked me out. There were out of printer paper so no receipt for my records. They also didn't catch a clicking sound my signal was making and when I asked about it the clerk said it was probably an electrical issue and shrugged his shoulders. Perhaps if you know the crew or know cars and exactly what you need this is a good shop, but it's not what I want or need. So today was my last visit. :(

For years, this is where we have taken our cars for challenging repairs. Most recently, the automatic transmission shifter cable broke on our 2007 Hyundai Entourage, a model that was made for only 3 years. After finding the part had been discontinued, I spent a few weeks searching for the part, despairing that the Entourage would never see the road again. But I found a shifter cable on an identical Kia model at a Sacramento salvage yard and brought it back to Concord. At that point, Sully and his crew at Clayton Quality installed it for a reasonable labor charge and the Entourage was back on the road. He even spotted a "horribly dirty" air filter and replaced it. Thanks Sully!
