We came to shop and when my family and I were ready to try things on we were told “We close the fittings rooms an hour before closing”. We got to the store at 8pm, and could not try anything on. To the management, this is very inconvenient for anybody trying to shop at this store. Also the fact that everything is out on the floor and we are not offered better customer service speaks volumes.

Nice manager with great customer service. I bought a bunch of stuff online in June, unfortunately these items didn't fit me because I lost a lot of weight post op. This was all unexpected and the time to return them had passed -- I couldn't make it in store because I've been recovering from a transplant surgery. I didn't ask for her name, but the store manager was super helpful and understanding. I wish I could've bought some items in store to add to her quota but the items I wanted were only available online.

Not sure why there's so many negative reviews went in to exchange some things and was helped by the employees. A young lady helped me and was so kind, guess retail isn't dead after all

They don't even deserve the 1 star but.... I came in on 11/19 at around 4:30pm to return 4 T-shirts I purchased from express.com for my husband. The girl that helped me seemed like she was new (which is completely fine). She asked for my phone # as well as my order # but was not able to pull up the order. The other cashier over heard her asking for my order # and came over to let her know she won't be able to pull up with that and needs either phone # or card that it was purchased with. I provided both. He was having a hard time pulling it up and eventually took over the transaction. Prior to coming in, I went to look up the return policy because I had those shirts ordered in September and of course it took my husband a month and a half to try them on. Anyways, I knew the return policy is 60 days. The clerk helping me tried to tell me that since he's not able to pull up my order, there's nothing he can do since I don't have my receipt. I showed him the email that was sent with my order conformation as well as the order # and he said he needed the slip that was in the box when items were shipped and the email is not good enough. Mind you, he wouldn't even look at the email that I received. I asked to speak to the manager because this is absolutely absurd, he said he was the manager (ha!) He was completely condescending, arrogant, snarky, INCOMPETENT, and overall unprofessional. He couldn't even make eye contact when talking and would just look away when he tried to make his snarky comments (about how I don't have a receipt even though I was showing him my email receipt.) After letting him know that I know the return policy is 60 days as stated on their website, he tried to offer me store credit only since he was not able to pull up my order for how much the shirts currently cost! I told him store credit wasn't good enough because It's not like I'm returning items without a receipt!!! (Someone please explain to me since when is a digital receipt not good enough when shopping online!!) Anyways, I asked him how much I would be getting back for each item and he said $24. Here's why he's so incompetent at doing his job.... If he actually took a look at my email with the receipt... he would know that I only paid $17.47 for each shirt. So let me get this right... since I supposedly don't have a receipt, the best you can do for me is a store credit for what the items currently are but you want to give me more than I actually spent on each item?! Haha I can't believe this guy is a manager. They must be in desperate needs to allow someone like that to manage a store Anyways, I had just about had it with this guy and his attitude so I grabbed my items to either drive out to Pleasanton or just call customer service and ship the items back. When I got home, I called the 1-800 number and guess what?! Based off my phone number, the automated system pulled up my order. What do you know! This "manager" needs to be demoted to customer. He completely sucks and does not deserve a management title.

Use to love coming here until the pandemic. The store hours are limited and the dressing rooms are closed. I dont have the time to buy, try on at home, then return if necessary. Not worth it for me.

Took my daughter here to find some basic black dress pants. Since she's never shopped here we didn't know what size she would need. We grabbed a couple styles for her to try on in 2 different sizes. Upon walking to the fitting room we see it blocked off with a rolling rack of clothes. I went to the cashier and asked if we could try on the pants. He reply's so rudely and said "no our fitting room is closed" I say we'll she needs to try on pants so we know what size to buy. He reply's "you can buy it all and go to Macy's to use the fitting room there and bring back what you don't want for a return" I stood there in shock for a second before replying "omg that's seriously so tacky you just told me to spend $500 on all this and go to Macy's to use their fitting room then walk what I don't want back over here for a return?! Wow no wonder why retail is dying" apparently he was the manager. This store clearly needs help from corporate if they want to stay afloat and retain customers. People coming in to shop want to try clothes on and purchase what they like and be on their way. They want a pleasant shopping experience. Not some rude manager who with the whatever go somewhere else for that service then waste your time coming back to return stuff kinda attitude. EXPRESS while I'll never go to this location again I hope you can do better for other customers.

I stopped by this location to make a return during normal business hours and the location was locked. I then thought they may of been short staffed and made a restroom or lunch break run, so I decided to go grab a bite to eat and return. Total waste of my time and energy.

The Sunvalley Mall opens at 11am and Express opens at Noon. We arrived just in time to watch the staff lock the door at 3pm. Closed until 4pm? Seriously? Since when did retail close for breaks? Is anyone else tired of "Covid" as an excuse for bad service?

I've been two times at the sun valley mall trying to go to express store with no success. The first disappointment is their ours. They open at 12:00 noon, while everyone else opens at 11:00am. The second disappointment is that they close the store to get lunch. It was 2:45pm and it had a note saying "we'll be back at 3:30pm" WOW! I cannot wait almost 1hr AGAIN. So if you plan to go shopping here, call ahead so you don't lose your time!!!

Don’t bother coming here. Came on two different days and both days the store is locked regardless of the hours. And the lights were on inside. Came at 5:50pm, closed. Came again the next day around 2:50pm, still closed. Called the store twice on the second day, no pick up. If I could rate this with zero stars, I would. Wasted my time to come out here twice, ugh.

Mahogany is such a doll! When you come shopping here I hope you are blessed with her service She is incredibly friendly, helpful, knowledgeable about the product and clearly cares about her customers. I'd hire her to come work with me! My boyfriend and I finally went shopping as things are starting to open up, and he consistently kept asking her questions and saying "Excuse me, I have a question, we have lots of questions"! I felt so bad that he kept interrupting her She was so graceful and patient and proceeded to assist with what we needed, plus she kept a smile on the whole time! She was also really good about letting the people in line know "we'll be right with you". Her energy was bright and she definitely lights up that store. Her customer service skills should not go unnoticed, she is truly a gem and that store is lucky to have her. I worked in retail for years before switching to my current role and what she is able to provide is rare. I hope upper management sees this and recognizes her nicely. She's an asset to that team!
