It's.... fine.
It's a FoodMaxx, so I'm not really ever surprised to see some produce on the floors or almost-expired food on the shelves. You get what you pay for, so it's not like anyone should be surprised at what you find here.
The do seem to be putting a little bit more effort into it recently; they're better staffed (still understaffed as a whole, but it's improved) and maybe a little bit cleaner?
This place is close and usually pretty quick to get in and out of, so if I'm in a rush for one thing I don't mind making a run here, but if you have the time or a little bit more wiggle room in your budget Safeway is a nicer experience.

I just left FoodMaxx on Monument Blvd in Concord and was treated like a criminal. The manager, Brendon, and a security guard both confronted me with accusatory expressions the moment I walked in, demanding I hand over my backpack (which had my work laptop). I complied, only to notice everyone else was allowed to carry their bags freely. When I asked why, Brendon defensively claimed it was “policy.” Clearly it’s not, since no one else was stopped.
This isn’t the first time I’ve seen rude and disrespectful treatment at this store — especially toward customers who may not speak English well. It’s disgraceful and unacceptable. I’ll be contacting corporate about this. Shoppers deserve better.

This one star is going for the checkout process and having to walk out a certain door when I’m done shopping, your security guard stopped me and told me to walk out of a door that it was made for an exit and there was another door that was closer to where I parked. I should be able to walk out of whatever door I want to after I paid my tab and I have my receipt. tell your security guard to chill out.

I usually shop late at night because I’m busy during the day. The self-checkout closes early, and there’s only one person working the register, which leads to long wait times.

I love buy in food max so my wife too, yesterday have the worse experience whit costumer service, old salt and pepper hair guy maybe on his 50s-60s. Rude and racist i ask him whats wrong why he is acting like that, he treat the person in front me bad, he throw my groceries in the belt rude, tjen he make fun of the lady behind me because she dont speak english, no more food max concord for me and my family, a soon i got home i told my wife and she describe the guy before i start telling her to whole story because she was treat worse before for the same guy but she dont say something to no create problems. Food max manager what else have to happen to you guys do something !!!
