“I drove 40 miles to check out this place, and I'm glad I did. When I arrived, I found that a couple of wild turkeys were waiting for the store to open ahead of me. They were kind enough to let me enter ahead of them. Once inside, I was immediately greeted by the owner, who apologized for not having any trains running yet. Can you believe it? They had been open for two whole minutes and hadn't started running trains yet. But before I could say, "all aboard," the owner had his Broadway Limited SP 4449 (HO) on the tracks, blowing its whistle and speeding down the layout. I toured the store and found a vast selection of locomotives, rolling stock, and everything anyone could possibly need to build a model railroad in any size, shape, or scale imaginable. As I walked around the store, I could hear the owner greeting customers and answering technical questions about the hobby off the top of his head. I spotted a few items that interested me and checked the interwebs for price comparisons. To my surprise, there wasn't a significant "brick-and-mortar tax." Pricing was fair. When you consider the investment necessary to maintain a well-stocked hobby shop, I'd say the place provides great value. I look forward to returning to Just Trains as I build my layout. Great service, great selection, and great value. Five stars!”

“Yeah why do the best card shops have to be in the middle of nowhere? Black Diamond Games is a game/hobby shop located in the back side of the Park and Shop strip mall in Concord (home to Ranch 99, Kevin's Noodle House, formerly Fry's electronics, etc.). It's very well stocked with tons of board games, TCG accessories, and more. I've been looking for Katana sleeves for a while in San Jose, where basically every store is sold out of them. I was pleasantly surprised to find a wide selection available here. They also had some more niche Anime sleeves, such as Grand Archive art sleeves. They have a impressive game room in the back with free play available if they're not running an event at the time. There's a bunch of board games on the shelves which you can borrow to play. There's even a well-kept bathroom in the game room. Overall, it seems like a really chill place to hang out and play board games or TCG. The staff is friendly here as well. If I can nitpick about a few things, one is that they don't have TCG singles in their display cases, and two is that some of their items don't have prices labeled on them, so you need to ask. Looking back, I wish we had a store like this in San Jose. The closest we've got is maybe CardArt or pre-Covid Legends Eastridge. Enough talk.”

“Our son lost his transition object on christmas eve in Austria. Since Steiff stopped producing the model, i ve combed through the web to find a replacement and luckily this store still had one in stock. Ordering was simple and it saved Christmas and beyond. Thank you so much!”

“This Hobby Lobby is huge. There's an extra room off to the side. I love that Spring items are on sale before Spring gets here! Downside - not enough cashiers and I got in a line that was going to close. The employee was rather rude when telling me he was closing.”
