Not the branch, the bank. Without authorization or notifying me, they cancelled my debit card. Just turned it off. I called the customer service line and they could not give me a reason, nor could they turn the card back on without discussing the matter with some other department that wasn't open on Saturday. Never again. Once this is straightened out, I'm closing the account. Done. This is how to treat a customer?

To say this is the worst bank ever would be understatement of the year. You call customer service and they can help you with literally nothing. They won't help me reset my online account. They transfer you to other departments that have never answered the phone the entire time I've been banking with them. Customer service tells me to leave a voice mail because they call back quickly. I did not realize "quickly" meant waiting weeks to get a call back. Then the person who calls you back is just as helpless. They have a horrible attitude and tell you they can't answer any question you have. So why did you call me back? Oh and you want to speak to a supervisor? That'll be another ten days or more, if you're lucky. I have been trying to sell my car for weeks and they refuse to give me my payoff stub. There's also no email or additional phone numbers. How do I know? Because everyone I've spoken to doesn't have them. They tell you that the ONLY way to get anywhere is being redirected. You have a better chance of getting God himself on the phone than anyone working here that can actually help you. I can't wait to get rid of my car for the sole purpose of never having to deal with this bank again. Such a shame.

Branch Manger K G is going to do big things for this location if Mechanics Bank knows really where it's relationships are. Heather, Jordan and Bob were holding down the echoing spacious and beautiful banking center "branch" as Mr. Downer did it didn't like the word (I can't remember). I am a customer first and a previous employee removed with wrong reason because I was exempt employee. Exempt employees have many rights hourly employees do not. But let's no back to that time. Let's talk about the without "probable reason" to close a "long lasting" relationship which was the previous tag line. The Downer jewel is tarnished expansion into Southern California simply just makes Mechanics Bank a non-family bank. You'll see 5 stars here and you'll see 1 stars at 2 other locations; HQ and the domiciling bank of my closed accounts. Sorry, Rauly, clean up will be messy.

Horrible company, they STOLE my Nissan Rogue Sport 2020 that bought with my cash money at WA State Public Auction. I paid $25,000 for the car, I have WA state title in hand with my legal owner name. I have the keys and the title but no car. Mechanics bank don't care, they don't pick up my calls, and they are hiding my car. They didn't report the car as repossessed as they should have done by the law. So when I filed the report of stolen vehicle, police could not find the car. When I told to the police that the bank stole it, the Mechanics bank lied to the police and send them old not valid title to take down the report of stolen vehicle. I went to the bank office to resolve and they just attacked me verbally and accused me of having fake WA title and stated that Washington state is doing criminal title washing stuff. Then they humiliated me and kicked me out of their property. As of now I lost $25,000 and they won't give my car back.

I have been with them for over 20 years and always get quick helpful service. They have been with me through rich and poor times. They were a valuable and helpful partner through the coronavirus that was devastating for an event company. I am now looking forward to their assistance in building back up again. Great Business Bank (Concord and Walnut Creek) with great people. I hope they do not ever become small business haters like the big guys.

I have been banking with Mechanics Bank since 1992 and my hubby since the '70's I believe. We set up an account for our son as well. My 80+ yo mother also banks there. I have had nothing but positive experiences with them and highly recommend the Pinole branch. Long time employees recognize their long time customers. When I needed a hug-pre-covid, I was given one. When I had a death in the family I was treated like family. I cannot say enough good things

Never again. They basically put my savings account as dormant because it didn't have activity for more than three months. Again, this is a savings account, not checking. My mother, who also has access to this account and a safe deposit box, was asked twice if she wanted to cancel the box that we've been paying for with this said account for the past two years. I had to call the branch and ask to re-activate the account. They said when I go in to take the funds out (since it was on my tenant's move-in deposit) that I could do that then.... I asked if I could do this now over the phone. The rep basically had no courtesy to tell me what I could or could not do over the phone... and then wanted to end the conversation as soon as she was done activating the account once again. But I wanted answers since this was the first time in two years that the bank has decided to do this with my account. Again, no explanation, no customer service and not even a slightest bit of friendliness. At this point, I'm moving banks because I'm tired of dealing with their employees attitude. They're just as bad as Comerica.

I am so disappointed in the change from Rabobank to Mechanics. I can't get into my online account, and there is absolutely no phone support. I was hung up on by an automated recording. The reason for online banking is for the conveince. Mechanics is going to have to make this up, or I am gone to a different institution.

Customer service is horrible! I tried calling to get an overdraft fee waved because my check didn’t clear till midnight. Where is the give and take and understanding for people who bank with them in the community. I also ordered checks 4 different times and never got my checks. There not a bank I would recommend.

Everyone here is super helpful and polite and kind! They know me by name when I walk in and remember little details of my life I've told them over the years. Even when they are busy they are still cheery.

I have had an account & safe deposit box at this branch for about 3 months now, and so far, I have only had a very good experience. I have not interacted with any other of their branches. The bank is new and very nice and modern inside, and all the people have been very nice and helpful. I've never had a long wait, and there are two ATM's, which is convenient. Even more convenient, they are right next to Trader Joe's, and since I'm there so often, this is one of the biggest reasons I opened my account here, not to mention they were the closest bank to my house that offered a safe deposit box big enough and reasonably priced. Maricela helped me open my account and safe deposit box, and was very very pleasant to deal with both for this, and when I've seen here most times I'm at the bank. She is always very friendly and has a smile for you. I don't know the others as well, but they have always been great too. I'm sorry a few others have had a bad experience, but so far so good for me. Thank you to all the employees at this branch for your great service to me so far!

I recently moved to Contra Costa County and this is the branch closest to my house. And, I am so grateful. I've only had very positive experiences with tellers here. Veronica in particular was so kind and informative. I've also been a Mechanics customer for 7 years now and am very pleased in general. They are great at catching fraud on your account before it even hits. It's happened a few times to my card over the years and I've never been on the hook for anything. Thanks, Mechanics!

I have been a customer for 10 years and have visited 5 mechanics bank branches. This one has the worst customer service. The ladies are rude and look unhappy every time I come in. Last time I spoke to the manager he didnt seem concerned, next time will speak with corporate. Dont deal with these people.
