Hours: Shiva Murugan Temple is a divine, beautiful, and peaceful Hindu temple, one of the oldest in the Bay Area. It is dedicated to Lord Murugan and houses deities including Pillayar, Lord Shiva, Goddess Parvati, and Navagraha shrines. The temple offers a spiritual experience with daily poojas at specific timings and special poojas on auspicious days. The main deity is decorated with flowers and jewelry for occasions. The temple is currently undergoing construction for a new main structure and Raja Gopuram, with the current establishment being medium-sized. Idols are located in a temporary space adjacent to the work. The basement is where Prasadam is distributed. This includes a full South Indian lunch with items like lemon rice, curd rice, sundal, and sweets, along with tea and coffee. The temple administration and volunteers are noted for being accommodating to devotees. Parking is limited on the street, but nearby parking is available. The temple is known for its annual Thai Poosam walk, a popular pilgrimage where devotees walk from surrounding areas. It provides a serene atmosphere, even during festivals like Diwali.
