The two star rating this company has, is not a shocker. I was having a leak inside my home, and came in with some questions. No one was helpful. It seemed none of the guys working here had any experience when it came to home improvements. I would say the selection was quite large, but the customer service was seriously lacking. I'm sure I'll return to the store, but I wouldn't rely on any form of help from these people.

Purchased new washer and dryer online and they looked fine when they arrived but when I went to set up washer (takes 2 people to lift out of shipping base) I noticed a big dent in the side that was hard to see until the light hit it a certain way. I contacted customer service via text and they asked if I wanted a new washer and I said yes and they told me I had to text back on Monday so they could submit claim. When I texted on Monday they said oh sorry the previous person didn't notice you called after the 48 hour window that you must report damage. I went to the store to speak with a manager and got shuffled to finally have to call the manager who took 2 days to get back to me. She said there was nothing they can do. I took a picture when they arrived and although I didn't notice the dent until later, you can see the dent in the picture I had taken at time of delivery so it's obvious it came damaged. It also has no scratches and appears it either was dropped on its top or something heavy was on top of it. I can't believe I spent $750 on a washer that arrived damaged and no one will make it right. And I didn't mention, the dryer doesn't turn on so LG has to come out ands replace the circuit board. I'm not rich, this was a big purchase that I feel I was completely robbed on. It has a one year warranty if something goes wrong but you have almost no time to completely inspect your brand new boxed machines that you've never used if they come damaged. I'm shocked a company the size of Home Depot won't stand behind what they sell. They've lost a customer for life.

Today we needed some blinds cut and were waiting for quite some time along with two other people. Stephen found us and although he could not cut them himself he stayed nearby, spoke with other associates, and made several announcements to help us. We were very grateful to him and credit him with managing to finally get someone over after an over 20min wait. With his help, we had 3 people arrive and we were on our way to checkout within a minute.

After waiting for 1/2 hour for someone to help us with window dressing, Stephen was able to get someone to help us. This review is for him. Fun Fact: Stephen was in a wheelchair going around the store trying to get person who was supposed to cut the blinds to help us.

This is for the delivery service. I had a delivery scheduled for today and the two gentleman that came where extremely rude. They block me in my driveway and I caught them before they exit their vehicle to please move their truck so I could pull my car out so they could deliver. All they had to do was pull up two feet. They absolutely refused to move their truck. One of them started laughing saying it's so easy to move and kept saying I could still move my car out. There was absolutely no space for me. I called customer service and they said that the gentleman said I was verbally abusive to them. Customer service scold me as if I did something. Absolutely unacceptable service.

This Home Depot location is an absolute joke. We wanted some outdoor shades - and the guy at the window coverings desk told us they don't install those. So we have to get our own handyman to do the installation. He also made us feel like we were wasting his time with our questions - none of which he had clear answers to by the way.We just got up and left. We went to another Home Depot in Martinez. The window coverings person there was wonderful. He reached out to the installers to check if they could install outdoor shades. They said yes (but they there's a separate fee for outdoor coverings - which were okay with). He answered all our questions, put in our order and the installers are already scheduled to come over and do a measure. The Concord Home Depot isn't up to the mark. Try going to the one in Martinez. The staff (including the store manager) there are much much better.

I went here a couple of times, and the experience is consistently horrible. It's harder to shop at a messy store. I could tolerate the disorganization if the customer service/staff member is helpful and friendly, but I had to asked at least 3 employees and the 4th person was finally willing to help to locate the stuff i needed. Most of the staff were kinda rude and condescending. I would go further to Home Depot in Martinez because that store location the totally opposite of this store.

Bought a Kensgrove Ceiling Fan from Home Depot by Home Decorator Collections. The first one broke within 90 days and I was able to return it just fine. Figured it was defective, so I exchanged it for a new one. So the fan cost about 350 after taxes and it is costing me about 355 to install the first one, take it down and install the second one. The second one stopped working properly after a few months, I called the support number and they sent me out a part. I had to wait a few months for my contractor to come over and take down the fan, replace the part, and reinstall it. He came over and there was no way to remove the old part as it had a big metal ring above the screws. Home Depot site says you can bring in the Home Decorator Collections Fans back to the store to replace or refund as long as it is under warranty. I had a 1-year manufacturer's warranty (which is HOME DEPOT) and purchased the extended warranty (which apparently is All-State Squaretrade despite being sold by home depot as their warranty). Went to the store and was told I can't return or exchange it (the sales guy at customer service was very nice), I explained how the site said I could bring it in, and I understand it is beyond its return date but this is a warranty exchange, not a normal return. I showed him off the site where it said that I could bring it to the store for a free exchange. See the link here: homedepot.com/c/ab/home-… He said he will call a manager. The manager came over and she explained they can't return it due to the computer telling them it was outside of the return policy. I explained the same thing to her, showed her the receipt, and the link above, and calmly explained that I want to just replace the fan. She said she needed to talk to another manager. Another Manager came over after she disappeared for like 10 minutes or so. they talked at a counter and asked for my driver's license and a better receipt which I had on my phone and shows them. I was being very polite and calm with them. Despite this being 2-3 hours since I left the house to take care of the fan and I was already 350 dollars spent on installation and removal. So they tell me they can give me a store credit that can't be used online. I said that is fine. Then they say they will never again do this for me and repeated that a few times. Then gave me the store credit for the fan (but not the extended warranty which was 55 bucks and not what they told me when they sold it). I said thank you and they said again that they will never again do this. I wanted to shout at them that I am not the crook here, they sold me a fan that doesn't work for a few months which has cost me more in installation and removal than the purchase of the F'ing fan, and they are the manufacturer. It is still under warranty and their own damn site says to go to any location. So why are you treating me like I am the a-hole for bringing your fan to get it replaced to your store that I bought it from? But instead, I just smiled and said thank you, I appreciate the help, and walked out. I hope their enough that I will use the store credit but not sure I will be going back to the Concord location. Honestly, I spent enough at Home Depot this last year that I don't deserve to be treated like a crook or a scumbag. I was nothing but polite and calm with them despite having to repeat myself to multiple people. I get that they might not know how but that isn't my problem. They also wanted me to call their corporate office to get an RMA so they can process the warranty, excuse me, are you really telling me you have no way to go to a computer and process a warranty return? Then take that damn passage of the site and tell people you don't honor your own warrants and that the extended warranty is not a store warranty and it doesn't apply until after the 1-year manufacturer warranty is up.

My new local Home Depot has been nothing but exceptional! We moved to the area last year and needed things for our home, so lots of trips to this store became a regular thing. We moved from the Oakland/Emeryville area with a Home Depot very close to us. That store was ok but the customer service was lacking and the parking lot was always very active. This store is clean, spacious and continuously has good customer service.Every time we visit, usually a staff member will ask if you need help in their respective department. Yesterday was my best experience yet, we have been looking at getting a new washer and dryer for a whilenow. We looked at the deals and financing offers so I decided to see the models to buy something.Dave in the appliance area was so nice to work with, he acknowledged me right away and took the time to give advice. I showed him the models on their app and he asked me questions like the type of plug we currently had with our dryer.Dave really helped and advised me to get the extended warranty on our new washer because of the amount of laundry we do with our toddler. I felt good about the experience and will come back often. Stop by this Home Depot if you can, you will likely leave feeling good about the experience!

I like this homedepot location and I find it's employees are really helpful and friendly. I'm usually in there getting lost and asking lots of d*** questions, so it's great when they are patient and exceed my customer service expectations. I've always found the items I needed and they are in stock, sometimes with same day delivery options, which is super convenient as well. Pets are allowed, and the staff are even really nice about it if the dog you happen to bring with you poops as soon as she gets inside the store. (It was awful for me, but an employee and another consumer totally helped while I cleaned up after my friend's dog. Ugg!) Self-check line here is great; I never have a very long wait when checking out.

Ok... This review is almost completely about customer service of two employees. I had the privilege of being helped by two exceptional employees. If the rating was on there service alone... They would have gotten 5 stars. The first person was Xeno , in millworks dept. He was exceptional in helping us finalize and secure our door order. He verified product, selected supplemental items needed and researched to find our existing door measurements. He was great, very helpful! Second employee was " Gina" working the self help desk. She's an older lady, full of spunk and initiative. She helped us unload it car full of gardening stuff and after ringing up items repacked in a way we could get home much easier. She also went and found two bags large enough to cover the oversized cushions I purchased. She did all this by herself as the guy next to her just watched... While doing nothing! She is a superstar employee! Thank you Gina... Thank you Xeno. I appreciated your service and attention to detail. Now, with that said... The rest of the store...a bit disappointing. Took over an hour and a half to get someone to help us. Spoke to the different employees in the door dept... each promising assistance... Each dropping the ball. Then the person before Xeno ( third person we spoke with... Multiple days) says, don't wait for me... I'm going to take an hour helping a customer, then I'm leaving. Come back in an hour. Weird... All we wanted to do was place the order...ie put money in the coffers. Overall, this store isn't high on my list of good customer service, but every once and a while great experience.

Never use Home Depot Online. I have been struggling with them to deliver, now refund, me for a 15 foot by 16 foor peice of artifical grass that I ordered and paid for. Waited a month, then was told I needed to call a 3rd party delviery company, that was a sham, then I was told that it was delivered. I still have a hole in my back yard! 1.5 months later

Absolutely the worst Home Depot location I have ever been to. Zero customer service - that is, if you are lucky enough to track down anyone. Shelves are poorly stocked and look like one big mess, the entire store is a chaos. Half of the checkout kiosks are closed, long lines to the remaining ones - and to make it worse, it looks like they let go all the cashiers and hired a bunch of minimum wage immigrants who barely speak English and have no clue where things are in the store. So do yourself a favor - drive a few more miles to Martinez or Antioch and get all your questions resolved in a couple of minutes by nice and helpful people who actually understand English and are happy to help! Better yet, go to Lowe's.
