Pretty good vet. Knowledgeable and they don't try and price gouge you with a bunch of stuff your pet doesn't need. I subtracted 1 star because of my appointment being 30 mins late.

The response from the hospital is outrageous. At the time of billing, I asked if other options were possible. I was told there were no options. Now that I've gone public about the high cost, they want to talk. Take that for what it is.We were told they would be agreeable to an installment financing plan IF we also purchased a wellness plan at $118 monthly. So they want that extra money just so we can pay in installments, with interest to boot? See why I say they soak people? Update: we took our cat to UC Davis vet school. They found our cat also has a heart murmur that would surely kill her in surgery if special precaution are not taken. Monte Vista completely missed this critical issue. So glad we didn't use their services. Don't go her...please.

I have been taking my dog Chloe to this location for almost 12 years now. In the last 2 years I have adopted 2 senior dogs, so now I'm at this location much more frequently with 3 senior dogs. Throughout the pandemic and everything, I have always received excellent care. The wait is never too long and they give me the option to wait in the care of come inside. Dr. Bivens is incredibly thorough and caring. She always listens to my concerns and explains everything clearly. The vet techs are also very friendly and caring and even the staff at reception are always quick and responsive. Within the last year all 3 of my dogs have gotten their dental cleanings. My dog Holly just got hers done on Tuesday and it went so smoothly. Martin and Olivia took such amazing care of her and Dr. Bivens kept me updated all day long. I recommend anyone in the Clayton area take their dogs here for excellent care.

Good doctors, but terrible reception staff. I would recommend going to a different branch to avoid their poor service.

Dr. Bivens have been our veterinarian for 10 years. She's amazing. She's very calm and caring.Dr. Ryan is great as well; he has excellent bedside manner and he explains the treatment plan extensively. Martin our veterinarian technician calms my anxious fur babies every time. The staff are my go-to heroes whenever my two fur babies need either preventative or symptomatic appointments.

Good place to take your animals they also have a plan to pay monthly and it's like insurance on your dog who get all your basics for free even office visits

Since covid they have had a strict protocol. You park your car in the parking lot and then call or text them you're here. Usually they allow one person in with the pet, however I guess since my dog was only getting a shot, they took her in and had me wait outside. I took my other dog with me to the store to look for something. I was on my way back when I received the text to pay. I didn't have a chance to check out when the worker inside came out and was going to check me out. I told her I got the text and am trying to pay now. They don't release your dog until you pay. I was able to get the refill prescription for my dog and rabies certificate too. Over all not bad.If you have a bonded pair of dogs and they're due for the same check up, they will let you in, but that was in April and I'm not sure if they changed their policy.

I would like to give a shout out to some of the people I've had the pleasure of talking with over this past week. I usually shy away from Yelp reviews but I wanted these people to be recognized for their amazing work, because their actions stood out to me and I will never forget these encounters. I had some concerns about my cat Pretzel, so I called VCA and spoke with a lady named Selina. She was extremely sweet but what really stood out to me was her honesty and helpfulness. She told me that based on what I had told her, Pretzel needed to be seen ASAP. She was even able to fit me in 2 days later. I talked to her about 2-3 different times this day, but each time we spoke, she was very nice and helped me with any questions I had. She was very patient as well (dealing with stressed out pet owners is never fun). I wanted to bring her a present of some sort before I arrived to my vet visit 2 days later, however I was extremely short on time due to work. The reason I bring this up is because I've never had an encounter with a receptionist to the point where I felt the need to get them a gift as a thank you, but her customer service was just THAT outstanding. It didn't end there. Upon my arrival to the vet on Friday, I called the front desk to let them know that we have arrived. Shortly after, I get a call from Martin. Martin asked me some questions, I explained to Martin what was going on, and right off the bat I knew I was in good hands. He was just so easy to talk to. He was also incredibly kind (emphasis on incredibly)! He was extremely helpful throughout this entire process, just talking to him eased my stress. He even asked me questions about how my drive was from LA to the Bay Area. This may not seem like much from the outside, but I'm not really used to people asking me questions like this. It's those little thoughtful questions that make you feel cared for. I really enjoyed our conversations - it didn't seem artificial or forced. Of course, he was making sure my cat was doing well too! I have never seen Pretzel that calm at a vet visit before. Just by the way he was interacting with Pretzel, I could tell that he loves and cares for animals. We shared a lot of laughs and smiles, talking to him just felt like a genuine human experience. Martin is a wonderful guy and I hope that everyone gets the privilege of meeting him at least once in their lifetime. Plus, he has a contagious smile! Dr. Bivens was wonderful as usual. Pretzel and I were moving, so she recommended me a vet to visit in our new area (and even a doctor as well)! We even had the chance to talk about college for a bit since we found out that we went to the same university. I was very excited to hear this because Pretzel has been seeing her since before I got accepted to this university. She asked me about what I studied and other related questions. She didn't rush with our visit, she was taking her time as she evaluated my cat which I appreciated so much. I also did not have to wait long for her arrival. I wish I could say the same about my doctors! It's not easy to be in a good mood when you're worried about your pet, but the staff at VCA have incredible hearts that make you feel like it's going to be okay. They really care about you here. Not only your pet, but you! We live in a chaotic time, so it's moments like these that makes me believe that good people exist, and not all is bad. Even if it's a short encounter, moments like these truly make life worth living. With that being said, thank you to the people I've mentioned for making me and Pretzel feel happy and cared for.

You just have my cat seen been there many times but of course they’re booked up I understand that but you can’t go on a semi emergency a week and a half out.. no recommendations to go to emergency we’re really booked up,, So I took the day off of work and I won’t tell you the rest of the story it doesn’t matter but they should have a referral service or somebody else in mind..Just my two cents out other than that they’ve been great but you have to have an appointment

I am glad I had took my baby to vca. The staff was professional and friendly. I have nothing but good to share with my experience with vca. I recommend vca to anyone that has fur babies that need quality care.

First of all, I took my dog to VCA last year for my dog's ear. I paid nearly $500.00 for that "office visit". At that point, I should have known to not go back. Fast forward to this past month. My brother who is currently living with me, brought his homeless kitten with him. He needed to get her spayed and have her shots. He doesn't have much money and I am responsible for him and his financial affairs due to some mental disabilities. He went in for his appointment and was supposed to call me, (since he was the only one allowed to go) when he had the amount he owed. I never received that call and he was in there for a very long time. When he finally came out he tells me that they signed him up for some insurance that will help pay for his costs. When I went through his paperwork, there were no receipts, no print out of what they did for his kitten. There was only a page that had this program that they have. When I phoned them immediately asking where the receipt was, how much the spaying was going to be, what shots did she get, they wouldn't answer any of my questions. The cost for this program that he didn't even know he signed up for would be $102.99 a month. That's $1,235.88 for a spay and kitten shots. When I explained to them that my brother didn't understand what he was signing up, they basically said, "too bad". The receptionist was extremely rude and unprofessional. For them to not provide me with any costs of any of the shots or the future procedure was very unethical. Please beware of this pet hospital. I'll also be reporting them to the BBB. I really don't want to see anyone else have the wool pulled over their eyes! My brother feels very taken advantage of and this is very bad for his self esteem and mental state.
