Just had the strangest experience today at Corning Lumber. Poor Service. For the first time in over 20 years of trading there, I got blown off. I asked for kiln dried fir knowing they had to order it. The Rep was cleaning a butcher knife while talking to me. When he learned I only needed 6 boards he's shrugged his shoulders and recommended the "big box store" in the next town. No I said; I like Corning Lumber for quality. He replied that he supposed he could order it but it would take a week. I knew it required special order. I just replied oh well and left. Recently a friend commented to me that Corning Lumber must want to go out of business. He had had a similar experience. Corning people are straight talkers. I'm used to that, but I am not used to a I don't really care attitude.
