Sandwiches are very good and great value for Coronado but the staff is soooooo slooooooooow. You go to the deli and everyone is moving in slow motion with ZERO urgency no wonder it takes 20 minutes to fulfill an order.

Deli Boney's Bayside: slow food, made well, value for $. Recommendations: Garden burger from menu board. Chicken arugula ready-to-go sandwich. Ready-to-go sandwiches are generous. Share with friend or save half for later. Low-carbon packaging on many. Summary: Lunchtime Boney's deli: the in-store line to order from menu likely will be quite long, as is the wait for sandwiches to be ready. Deli staff seem to have large orders in addition to individual orders to fill, which slows them down. Pressed for time? There is are two cases of of ready-to-go sandwiches, salads and other prepared foods. Ready-to-go sandwiches are just as good as those on order from menu board and fairly priced. Cash register staff attentive and effective. More: Boney's Deli: If on island walk or cycle over to the Deli, lowering your carbon footprint. It's at the quiet end of Orange with a few businesses for regular citizens' everyday needs: grocery and hardware. Tuesday there is a farmer's market right around the corner .... Yes, the call in ordering for the Deli doesn't work very well. See other reviews on this. Two suggestions: 1/ How about learning to appreciate slow food and to anticipate Boney's busiest Deli times and work around. If you want a hand made- sandwiches at a fair price this Boney's deli is a good option. 2/ If seamless ordering is a must, how about Chipotle (with invasive tracking no extra charge. Citation: Chipotle Coronado is located on the other end of Orange Ave just across from the del. They are employing robots to assist preparers. Expect congestion at south end of Orange. Please when on island observe speed limits, and prepare to be patient and careful if in a car. Lots of people on foot at the intersection where Chipotle is located.

One of my favorite markets in SoCal and ? definitely my favorite place to shop in Coronado!! They have so many good brands and specialties, fresh local produce that looks like they just dug it out of the ground ? plus honestly-BOMB- deli sandwiches, with their fresh crunchy focaccia bread. Yummm ? just made my mouth water!

If you want a neighborhood market that actually cares for it's products AND community, adjust your travels to fit this in your schedule to experience excellent choices.

At 5:51 pm today, Dec 21 the register rang up organic yams at $1.69 a pound even though they are advertised at 99cent a pound. I called the store and was told to return the yams and they would weigh them and ring them up again! There seemed to be no understanding that the register was wrong. I normally love this store.

Sandwiches are good but do not come if you’re in a rush. The ladies making do not talk louder than 6dB so be prepared to bring your hearing aids if you plan on picking up your order.

Expect to wait 30-40 min for one sandwich. It seems the staff here is not trained properly or aware how to prioritize tasks. I was second in line out of four people and it took 10 min for one staff member to realize there was a line. It seems they were more concerned about cutting veggies instead of helping customers ready to order. Or they just chose to ignore us.They finally got to working on my sandwich but then forgot to take it out of the panini press for 10min.The staff needs more training. By far this is the SLOWEST service ive experienced in getting a sandwich anywhere. I guess if you have all day then time doesnt matter.

The deli has quite literally the slowest service I've ever experienced. It's almost comical.

I would like whoever manages Boney's to order a sandwich from Parkplace, both online and over the phone, to see how easy ordering should be. Boney's has great sandwiches but horrible management. The ordering process is broken, and they are unwilling to fix it.

GET THE SANDWICHES HERE IF ITS THE LAST THING YOU DO! So delicious and fresh made. So much flavor and all on fresh focaccia bread. Pricing is so fair, around $10 for a massive sandwich. I always get the Baja turkey and add mustard. If they have the elote corn dip in the refrigerator section I highly recommend purchasing but beware it is spicy. Sometimes the wait for the sandwiches can be a while but totally worth it. Good tip is to walk to the park at the end of the street to eat your sandwich

The Boney family started the old Henry’s Market and later Sprouts, and while Henry’s is no longer and they no longer have controlling interest in Sprouts, it’s nice to support the last vestige of their family business. For self service aspects of the market they’re excellent…. BUT their deli is great too IF THEY’RE NOT CROWDED. If they are crowded, then their leaves a lot to be desired: either very long wait times and even lost orders (what?!?). Until they improve, if they are crowded don’t bother with a deli order …. Save yourself the potential frustration, get something pre-made section. Again, the self service part of the market is excellent and they have a good selection of organic fruits and vegetables. 5 stars for the self service, 1 star for the deli service: 3 stars overall
