This place needs new beds, bedding, a good scrub down, and plumbing to be habitable. The water is either cold or scalding hot 170f+ I love hot water but this burned my skin I couldn’t even stand it a second.. We payed for the room but after seeing it we did not sleep here….

Honestly, I expected a little better~ NOISY~ I know it’s cheap, but it’s an expensive for a reason. Being in Coronado, this is like the worst spot to put an Inn. **The Busiest intersection!! Very noisy neighbors upstairs, maybe thin walls. The only good thing about it was the bathroom was clean and remodeled and not as tiny as the bedroom. •••The bed is on a metal cot not even on a bedframe. ?Not that we really cared because it was not uncomfortable. But you get what you pay for. You can honestly hear everything if you’re on the bottom floor. The street is VERY loud because it’s the one coming in from the bridge And it doesn’t stop until late and it starts early in the morning. Another thing we noticed was the checking in. We walked to the Inn w our stuff only to read the sign that said, walk back to the office at the yellow building to check in. So that was inconvenient. But I understand they don’t have the people to check in at both places. Room has only the necessities. Dont expect good coffee. Does have a mini fridge. (Sidenote, it didn’t help that we picked up burgers from the Burger lounge, and they left a bread clip in the middle of my chicken sandwich. I nearly choked! What the hell! Prob never going there again.) I called and they didn’t seem to care much.

The positive side is that the location is good and the ladies at the reception are friendly. The downside: the bathroom was dirty (spider webs, makeup on the door frame and the hair dryer so filthy that one wouldn't want to touch it). The refrigerator hasn't been defrosted in months and the heating wasn't working properly, so the only way to heat the room up was by letting the hot shower run for a while. I had requested a quiet room upstairs; my room was upstairs, but facing Orange Ave, the main through route, so it was anything but quiet. I mentioned all this to the reception and had hoped that some one from management would contact me regarding these issues. That did not happen and only goes to show that they don't care. I would not stay there again.Rooms: see above comments

During our stay, we had no heat throughout the night (which was a cold one) and no hot water in the morning. Each time you want to speak to the receptionist – whose desk was often left empty – you have to cross two major streets: Third Street and Orange Avenue. That alone will take you quite some time.At the end, unable to fix the problems and unwilling to change our room, they put a space heater in our room and said they would give us a complimentary night stay for our next visit. When we tried to book our next visit, they reneged and did not honor the free night promise. There are so many other options on Coronado. Save yourself the miserable experience and stay away from this place.Noteworthy details: The free bicycles they advertise are decrepit and not roadworthy.

Only spent a weekend there and it was perfectly fine for what we needed. Spent most of our time out and about so only came in to sleep and shower. We had the corner spot and it isn’t as loud as it’s made out to be.Easily walk to the beach front and other spots on the island but might be easier if you just have a bike or scooter and leave your car on the street. Plenty of parking as it is.Rooms: Spacious, clean and cool.Walkability: Close to the beach front easy 15 minute walk.Food & drinks: Plenty of restaurants down the street.

The way they treat military customers/families is disgraceful!!! Go elsewhere!!!Rude staff! Coronado has a slew of hotels with accommodating staff except for this hotel.1. We booked a hotel through a 3rd party who accidentally booked Coronado Island Inn. We never stayed at this hotel, had proof of our booking elsewhere due to this error so we wanted a refund. 2. We contacted the 3rd party booking site and they kept giving us the run around by saying we needed a cancellation letter from this hotel. Then they said Coronado Island Inn needed to authorize the refund. We needed a letter from Coronado Island stating both the refund was authorized and that we never stayed at this hotel.3. We called the Coronado Island Inn for 4 days in a row. We spoke to Reyna then Cheryl. We kept getting responses that they are busy. Who isn't busy? Horrible response. Then we were told no manager was available on the weekend. Yet another red flag! Do you want to stay at a hotel that has no manger or no one in charge on the weekends or after hours? That doesn't sound like a reputable hotel to me. And by the way this is a tiny hotel it's not the Del Coronado so you'd think they would prioritize this.We kept getting the same answer " We sent it." But they never sent us a copy like THEY said they would.5. Come to find out, the Coronado Island Inn was too concerned about being charged a commission so they stalled on their response to the 3rd party site. Keep in mind, we never stayed at this hotel AND we have a receipt of where we were currently staying to prove we never arrived or intended to stay at the Coronado Island Inn.6. We spoke to Cheryl again on day 4 and come to find out that she wouldn't send us proof of any letters or correspondence with the 3rd party booking agency because she said it shows their rates. The 3rd party booking site kept saying they didn't receive proof that a refund by this hotel was approved. When I asked Cheryl why she couldn't just send us a letter without rates, this "lady" hung up on us. We were not rude. We just don't understand why a letter can't be sent to us like SHE stated she would. We tried calling back but the hotel didn't answer. Unprofessional Inconsiderate RudeUnresponsive Disreputable We are a military family disabled through service and this is how they treat us. How disgraceful! Don't come here.

Great location. The room was sufficient and a really good deal for a last minute reservation. All I needed for work.

First and foremost, I’m generally pretty low maintenance with the places I stay. Coronado Island Inn is fine. Nothing spectacular. Pretty clean, overall.Cons: my room was a bit run down. The carpet is snagged and ripped in places. The water takes a full 5 minutes to get anywhere near warm enough to shower in. The TV service doesn’t offer much in terms of movie channels. Noise from the street can be heard all night in my room which had street facing windows.Pros: the staff is exceptionally friendly. Parking is easy. It’s pretty central and easy to get to either side of the island. Close to lots of food and shops. The bed is comfy!Would I stay here again? If there weren’t other options, probably. It’s good for the budget, but don’t expect to be wowed.

I stayed here for two nights and really thought it was great for the price. The room was quite large and clean. The hotel also provided me with a bike which was great to use daily. It's definitely the basics for the room, but everything I needed was there. Location is great too.

Don't. On a busy street & the room was large but dirty. Don't think it's ever had a deep clean. Check in was a nightmare. It was later at night & nobody was there. We called while waiting outside in the pouring rain and the lady gave me the code to get into the lobby. Code didn't work so she said hang on & then told me our key card was under a trash can outside the lobby. So we lifted it, got the key & crossed the street. Yikes. Pay the extra money to stay elsewhere.

Bring your noise cancellation headset! The room faces a very busy street and traffic noise is pretty much 24/7. The room itself was okay, however, needed renovation-no shower door etc. It looks nice on the outside, however, was not reflective of inside conditions. This was a second floor room. Steep steps. Limited parking, they charge $10 per night for on site parking and this was not stated anywhere on the reservation or by the staff at the time of check-in. I really can't recommend this lodging and would not stay there again.

While the rooms were mostly comfortable, my friend and I had a very disappointing experience at the Coronado Island Inn. We stayed with them twice during a nine-day visit in two different rooms, and each time there were small things in each room that could have been better attended to (lights that flickered off, broken outlets, no deep cleaning, etc). They also gave us a parking spot without notifying us there was a fee for parking (we only noticed when the bill came). The worst part, though, was when we accidentally locked ourselves out of our room at 5am (our fault), but no one was in the office to help us and no one answered the after-hours on-call number, which led to me missing my 8am flight back home. We tried to reach the after-hours staff repeatedly and eventually ended up going to the Best Western Plus across the street for help. The extremely kind gentleman at their front desk, Esteban, was so supportive. He repeatedly called the Inn's on-call and office number until someone finally answered when they came in for the 8am morning shift, he offered us a place to sit and rest in their lobby, free breakfast, and told us we weren't the first people to come over and ask for help because the Coronado Island Inn's staff wasn't available after hours. We were locked out for almost three hours, never got ahold of their after-hours staff, and I missed my flight. After arriving back home on a rebooked flight, I wrote to the Inn, told them what happened, and asked them to refund us for the last two nights of our stay (which still wouldn't make up for the cost of my rebooked flight). Instead, they refunded us the parking fees (which they didn't tell us about), $30, and offered us 25% off a future stay, which we will not be using. It was extremely disappointing considering I wouldn't have missed my flight if someone would have answered the after-hours phone. We won't be staying with them again but if you do, beware that there might not be anyone available if you need help after hours.

TERRIBLE!!! HORRIBLE!!! I booked 2 nights for Labor Day weekend with the family. When we got there, it was over booked. People were complaining on not having parking. They assigned me to a parking spot that is already been taken. When we got to our "newly renovated" room as what they described, 2 beds have black TERMITES!!!!!! All over the floor too. We decided to leave. Went back to the reception desk, ask for the full refund. I feel bad for Sheryl. She's the one taking on all the complaints. She was very helpful, refunded me the charges & called Expedia for me to get my refund. The maintenance walked in, Sheryl told him about the termites & he said they are not inside room, they are outside! So they knew about it but yet still gave us the room?!?!?!… Seriously?????!!!!! SOOOO BAD!!!! I do not recommend this place. I would give this place a NEGATIVE rating if that is an option.

I have been traveling to Coronado Island Inn for decades and love to stay there in the summer. My wife and I found the hotel and wanted to get away and were happy to find one of the last rooms we could find on the island. Cheryl was great to deal with and an outstanding employee. I am a business owner and know how hard it can be to find decent people these days. Unfortunately when we arrived on entering the room we found it completely filthy. It wasn't just a little dirty, this room had years of build up and grime. There were cobwebs around an open fan in the ceiling, which should've had a filter or cap over it. The kitchen wasn't clean or in working order. We had to ask for cleaning supplies to clean things ourselves. There were no trash bags were liners in the trash cans. That was just upon entering.Over the next few days we requested towels a couple times, they never came.... I went to use the ice machine, it didn't work. I was told I had to cross a busy intersection to get ice at another hotel. Our room was next to the balcony, the trash was piled high when we got there and continue to grow in piles around the trashcan over the next few days. We actually had to put some of our trash out there and a day later housekeeping took a bag of trash and left the whole rest of the pile sitting there. It was absolutely disgusting to try and relax there.I watch the housekeeper on day two walk around and talk on her phone, it was clear she was not there to clean. My wife and I tried to break and cancel the reservation so we could find another one a bit cleaner but there was no response from your hotel. I sat on hold waiting to get a solution from Booking.com and waited why they called three times, but there was no response. After stating that I wanted to talk to the general manager I was told that the "GM" gave approval for $100 off. Not only was this downright insulting after the stay but we were basically held hostage by the reservation and the lack of unwillingness on the general manager's part to fix the issue.Worst stay ever. I understand things happen, that's life, but the situation was handled so poorly by the general manager it was amazing.
