Terrible customer service completely butchers the in-house shopping experience. Because Free People brand can be very oversized or a teeny tiny fit, it's best to try the clothes on. But this location proves to be awful, every time. Friends and family have confirmed their same daunting experiences and it's such a shame. This store also closes quite earlier than the other stores, due to "not enough staff." They're consistently hiring, but clearly aren't letting go of the rude, ignorant, and stuffy staff they maintain. If you're at the plaza, head over to Anthropologie instead, you'll have a 1000× better fitting experience and find better quality clothes, accessories, shoes, books, etc.

I went into this store this past Saturday. I am a chunky lady but I still purchase clothing from Free People frequently. I just get the oversized tops etc. My issue with this store is that neither of the girls working her acknowledged me the entire time I was in the store. I heard them greet every person who walked in that was not chunky. I definitely felt as though I had been profiled and dismissed immediately because of my size. There was a cardigan I liked but I will just purchase it elsewhere so as not to give either of these young ladies any credit for my purchase. Management really needs to teach their employees not to profile people as they walk in based on size or any other characteristics for that matter. You just never know who will drop the almost $300.00 for that cardigan. I will but certainly not at this location.

I took the bad reviews with a grain of salt cause it’s Corte Madera and I was right to do so. The staff was so nice!

Visited the store 7/2/2020 I was the only one there no one even said hello. The gal working on the accessory fixture in the middle never even looked up. The gal walking from the back to the cash wrap was on her phone. There was one red dress on the left I liked but I decided to buy it elsewhere bc they couldn’t be bothered to acknowledge me! I walked in 7 other stores and everyone was friendly, said hello, and welcomed me in!

Simply the best!!! Only thing, I think the girls working there need to be trained on customer service.. Although they are young that is no excuse..they don't smile..they walk right pass you...they barely speak hello..they act like you're not there until you are ready to check out...they asked for the job. Show a little appreciation to the customer paying $$$$$ for the company's clothes...the girl that checked me out said, "you ready?" ...hmmm..I almost changed my mind but I loved the suede hip bag...

Nadine was amazing! I was on the hunt for a pair of overalls for a themed party event. I wasn't looking forward to this purchase and I feared I'd look like a five year old in a potato sack. Nadine was super patient and she took the time to help me find a something I loved. AND... she took the time to style me so I had an entire outfit. I walked out with an adorable pair of overalls, a sweater, a hat and a smile of my face. I also got a ton of complements that weekend... thanks Nadine!

These girls are sooooo un friendly!!! They seem so young. One girl told me she does not help customers that she only dresses the mannequins. Which is funny because anyone in fashion knows that corporate sends you over a book to copy the mannequins so don't try and act all high and mighty. The two girls working the register would not stop gossiping about another girl they work with. Then wouldn't stop talking about a boy. I had to say excuse me I'm ready to check out just so they can give me a nice eye roll. These girls seem very spoiled and have no idea how to treat others. It' Just left this place. Again super horrible people. I will just got online or down the way to Macy's and buy free people from now on.

Rachel is actually a life saver. I have a very difficult time finding jeans that fit me properly so I may or may not turn into a monster while jean shopping. Rachel was just as determined to find my perfect jeans as I was. I am actually an unpleasant person when I shop sometimes and Rachel was super nice and committed to getting it handled. Someone give this girl a raise.

I love Free People and have ordered items online. I popped into the Walnut Creek store on Thursday morning 10/4/18 and had the most unfriendly encounter with the young ladies working that day... Nobody smiled or greeted me when I walked in. I made sure to make eye contact with each one of them because customer service is very important to me if I am spending money... I got NOTHING!!! Not even thank you for coming in when I walked out... I even walked past the make up counter and a young lady was standing there... NOTHING!!! I am writing a letter to corporate office as I see numerous complaints about the customer service in this particular store...

I mainly return things for my wife. But the staff is always friendly and they don't ask what the stains are from.

The most unfriendly staff in the entire mall. I walk through pretty regularly and I can count, on one hand, the amount of times that I've actually been interacted with. I love free people but I honestly really dislike this store. I only go in to see things I've seen online, in person and I always end up ordering from Nordstrom or purchasing from Macy's down the way. I've maybe purchased something from this location twice and that's because I was desperate. If you're not a typical Marin looking customer, stay away.
