Atmosphere is good because this restaurant has inside patio and a big space. The food is good but it s not so special. But I think good space for couple and family also. At the bar, you can watch sports games.

The yellow & red beet salad was shared, followed by Wonderful Lasagna & short rib ravioli which unfortunately was not flavorful, finishing up with cappuccinos which were good. Our wait staff were delightful & helpful

A friend and I met for a business dinner and requested a quiet area. Although not a corner, we could converse easily. Our waiter had a great personality and made a couple of excellent suggestions. Both our entrees were delicious and the evening was most pleasant and productive.

Always, dependably good - good food, good service, good ambience. It was a bit noisier than usual, but it was raining out so more people were inside and the doors to the patio were shut.

The food and service was very good but even though I put a note on the reservation about my wife's birthday they did absolutely nothing, I didn't expect anything for free but at least a happy birthday would not be bad.

Delicious short ribs, Marguerite Pizza, and gelato on Valentine's Day. Love the ambience. Had our wedding rehearsal dinner here in 2007, and it has been our favorite restaurant ever since! The food is always delicious, the service is great, and the atmosphere is lovely. We sat in the indoor patio last night, and heard the pouring rain. How fun that was! Love Il Fornaio in Corte Madera!

Disappointed with the evolution of this restaurant and menu (very commercial now - may as well be cheesecake factory). Waiter had a poor attitude and we were told it was "not possible" to get a simple spaghetti with a marinara which seems insane for an Italian restaurant. We've loved Il Fornaio for decades and we won't be coming back.

It was very crowded on an early Friday night. Nice to see. However our waitress couldn't handle the tables she had. It's possible that the restaurant was caught short staffed. We have been there many times and this is the first time we had subpar service. The waitress brought the wrong appetizer and then inferred that this was our mistake. The three of us heard our order differently. When she'd drop something off she'd immediately leave without any possibility of a comment or request. It felt like all the other tables were more important than us. A lapse in training I believe.

We had a great birthday celebration here. Service was excellent. We were seated near a warm fireplace. I had the pollo ii funghi which was excellent. We were seated on time and the servers patiently waited for members of our party stuck in traffic. The wine was excellent but a bit expensive. Overall, excellent experience and we will be coming back.

We've dined at this Corte Madera restaurant several times and on each occasion it seems to have missed the mark a bit. We had made reservations for a Friday evening at 6pm. Upon arrival the hostess was pleasant and seated us right away. Our server brought us an ice bucket for our champagne but neglected to return to pour it. No water was ever offered throughout the meal (I guess you have to ask) but not the end of the world. We had ordered one of the specials being offered, a lobster ravioli in a seafood sauce. The ravioli pasta itself was undercooked and doughy and the dish was drenched in a brown colored sauce that overpowered the taste of the lobster ravioli. Very disappointing as the dish was priced at over $40 (5 raviolis and no sides.) Since the menu offers primarily pasta dishes we were hoping the raviolis were going to be a special treat but unfortunatley they fell short. This restaurant has so much potential to serve a higher quality of cuisine but there doesn't seem to be any desire to do so.

the waiter was terrible, like he knew he wasn't proficient at the job. Ordered the ravioli and it was pretty much tasteless - left over half of it. Very disappointing experience.
