Review is 6 days late, but I came to the store on Wednesday and Ruby, T, and Brandon took exceptional care of me. Attentive but not at all pushy, helped me find all the right stuff. Will certainly be returning.

Mishandled return & discourteous service — Corte Madera
Today, I went to return a few online purchases at approximately 3:34 PM. The cashier, Brandon M., who identified himself as the store manager, assisted me with the returns. Due to some items being purchased twice, I printed out all associated receipts and order numbers, specifically requesting him to map the returns to the correct order number.
Upon returning home, I discovered that two of my items had been incorrectly returned to different order numbers. This error resulted in a $45 discrepancy in my refund, as I had returned more expensive items. When I called the store to address this issue, I spoke with Brandon again. Unfortunately, he refused to rectify the mistake and claimed, without any apology, that he had acted according to policy, stating that the old order was beyond the 30-day return policy. This was not true, as the correct order number was placed on 8/11, just 20 days prior.
Brandon insisted that I should come to the store again to correct this or contact J.Crew customer service for assistance, despite my explanation that I live in San Francisco, over 30 minutes away, and the store was closing soon. His demeanor was rude, and he maintained that he had done nothing wrong. When I requested to speak with another manager, he stated that he was the manager and put me on hold, only to leave me waiting until I had to hang up.
I eventually resolved the issue with J.Crew customer service, but I was extremely displeased with the service I received from Brandon M. at the Corte Madera store. This experience is not reflective of the high standards I have come to expect from J.Crew.
I hope you take this feedback seriously and consider ways to improve customer service in your stores. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

The store feels smaller and more cramped compared to their old space. Seems odd to have the registers are in the back of the store.
I personally dislike retailers asking customers to verbally provide personal information like email or phone especially, even when I had the order number available. I made a comment that European countries take personal data more seriously and the associate chose to be a contrarian during my return process.
Helps me understand why more patrons are ordering online.

Camila offered me incredible service today. This is why having a physical store is so essential: the customer service. When a seemingly simple return with a giftcard purchase turned complicated, Camila remained calm, called customer service to make sure I received my full refund and was able to add some additional discounts for my patience, which I really appreciated. All in all, this took almost 30 minutes, but given Camila's calm demeanor and graciousness, I left a happy camper with some great clothes.

I will never purchase from J Crew again. Despite having their credit card and following their size guidelines to a T the pants they sent were not the correct size and they refuse to even exchange them. Tags were on and I attempted a return within three days of receipt. It was a "final sale" without exceptions. No exchange despite having the item in the store. I have cut up my J Crew card. Too many other choices than to deal with this

Small selection, generally not very friendly or helpful staff. I don't know if it's just me but every time we go here it is a struggle to get someone to notice you or give a darn. Even when checking out, they barely give me the time of day. I do a lot of online shopping at J.Crew but sometimes it's nice to be in store and see the selection in person...but not worth it at this location. I will continue to just shop online I suppose

Warning - J Crew does not have a COVID19 / Lockdown friendly return policy!I would be exceptionally careful purchasing anything from J Crew if you have the slightest chance of returning something. Even if that involves a delayed shipment, closed store, or any other reasonable reason to extend the grace period.
