They shut the cutting counter down 1 hour before closing...very unfortunate as this is a fabric store where fabric needs to be cut. Will be shopping locally owned small businesses from now on!

This location is falling apart. Items strewn everywhere, low stock on many items (there were only like four colors of felt squares) and a scarce inventory to begin with. The bathroom was so dirty, no toilet paper, liners, soap. At least they had running water. I won’t be returning to this location.

what a depressing dump. I feel sorry for the staff having to be there everyday. the shelves are 50% stocked; what merchandise they do have is a jumbled mess; the online inventory doesn't match what they actually have in stock (found this out the hard way). feels to me like this location has one foot in the grave.

Some of these reviews are way harsh, Tai. I came in twice yesterday for yarn, and the employees were friendly and helpful. They had a decent selection of the acrylic yarns I was looking for, and when perusing their fabrics and sewing supplies, their selection was good and well-organized. They have great deals through their website and app. While I'd rather support a small local business like Dharma in San Rafael, Joann's has its place, and I could shop there while Dharma was closed.

Corte Madera Joan store looks like there was a storm in the store . Is so messy. Alway short handed .

Very disappointed. I have been purchasing from Joanne for many years and regularly use the Corte Madera location. Today's experience was extremely unpleasant, a neglected shop, fabrics and objects thrown in all directions, incompetent and offensive staff. The person cutting the fabrics seemed annoyed by the presence of the customers and disinclined to respond to any request for help. When at the checkout I asked for clarification on a price, not only was it not provided to me, but a young cashier - named Isabel - made disrespectful inferences about my language. Sad.

I traveled half an hour to this location to purchase some fabric. Arrived at 10:15 to find a sign posted on the door that they weren't going to open until 12 o'clock due to staffing shortage. This isn't the first time it's happened at this location. Very disappointed that I made a special trip for nothing.

I love knowing anything I need to sew or do crafts is always available here. The staff is always helpful and wonderful.
