Please note that the lamb is sometimes in large chunks. You may need to cut it up. Both my dogs choked on the lamb.

It feels like family every time I enter. I can bring my dogs inside while I shop and they give treats!

Either out of stock or selling almost out of date food is simply unacceptable when you’re feeding your dog a prescription diet. JFFD is a highly unreliable company - if our dog was not so old we would drop JFFD in a second and find another reliable company.

I want to love JustFoodForDogs. The employees are wonderful and their product is superior most dog food. And yet their quality is so far from faultless that I'm irked by the glowing reviews. Dog food is usually garbage: it's usually extruded at high heat until it's nutritionally bankrupt, then rebalanced with synthetics from China. Then you have cheap fillers and low-grade meat meals (rendered product that can legally include carcasses, slaughter floor waste, etc) that will absolutely shorten your dog's lifespan. The bountiful fruits and veggies featured on the packaging are included in infinitesimal trace amounts (for guidance, kibble cannot have more than 1% salt per AAFCO standards, so anything listed in the ingredients after salt is below 1%). Arguing about what's better between Royal Canin, Purina, Science Diet, Taste of the Wild, etc, is futile because they're all terrible in varying degrees. So JFFD gets marks for being fresh and human grade. Unfortunately, "human grade" isn't the end of the story. There are sophisticated ways to cut corners, which is why JFFD isn't the best option you could be offering your dog - especially for the price! (not that higher prices are necessarily bad; we've fed our dogs crap for so long that we've been brainwashed into believing that dog food should cost almost nothing). Have you ever held up one of JFFD's bags of fresh turkey and wondered, "Does my dog really need this much macaroni?". In every JFFD formula, the #2 ingredient is a carb at a very high proportion. The chicken formula is full of white rice at #2. The beef formula has tons of potatoes at #2. You don't even need to read the ingredients to see that these starchy carbs aren't at an appropriate, supplementary level. I'm sure the company would respond with, "dogs need complex carbs, bla bla...". Nope - YOUR DOG DOESN'T NEED SO MANY CARBS. Long term, it's bad for them at such amounts in several key ways because dogs have very little nutritional requirement for dietary carbohydrates (starch) to thrive. JFFD clearly includes them in such proportions because of cost: they're way cheaper. I get that their business must be hard to operate profitably, but the result is that JFFD is still padded with too many fillers, which is disappointing. You know why their food is supplemented with all those synthetics and not just one or two key supplements? To make up for the fact that it's so full of white rice/macaroni/potatoes! That's how they balance the formula instead of, y'know, designing a higher-density formula that gets almost everything just from nutrients (which would admittedly cost much more at JFFD's current margins). If you're buying JFFD, you're doing better than most pet parents, but you could do even better. The formulas for other fresh options like Ollie and PetPlate are superior and also human grade (they use more sophisticated fillers like lentils and chickpeas to a lesser degree but it's definitely better). Likewise, you could go with a great raw option like Darwin's with more bioavailable nutrients. If you want to stay with a gently cooked option, something like Evermore is excellent but also more expensive than JFFD (grass-fed beef, certified organic ingredients, pasture raised eggs, higher nutrients from wild blueberries, minimal synthetic supplementation only from the USA, etc). Seriously, compare ingredient lists side by side and you'll understand where JFFD falls short. I'd love to home cook, but don't have the time or know-how (and repeated neutral third-party studies have concluded that over 85% of home cooks don't balance the nutrition well). You need to know what you're doing....if there's something worse for dogs than processed kibble it's the anything-goes "chicken + rice + random veggies" approach. I'm not shilling for any of these brands; do as you will. If you're a confused pet parent looking for a

I saw a recent reviewing mentioning how great the manager Heather is and I agree 100%. She really loves dogs and it shows (she used to be a dog trainer). But she's also detail oriented and great with people. She has helped me resolve a few tedious requests/issues that I've had over the past year and she always does it with a lot of patience and kindness. The other staff members are wonderful as well. Top notch customer service and my dog is so much happier and healthier when eating the fresh chicken and rice.

My pups and I had a wonderful visit last Friday. Heather & Haley were most helpful. I had previously purchased JFFD at a box store. The food was recommended by Instagram dog owner of Lu-Seal. She was able to drop her weight in half. My senior girl was way overweight. So we tried the food, going as far as DIY the food. After 7 months no weight loss. Visiting the JFFD store was epic! Come to find out I had misinterpreted their food chart. I interpreted their chart as dog's weight 10#s feed them 7 oz. So my girl gets 10.5 oz cuz she's 15#s. WRONG!!! If the desired weight is #10 then feed her 5ozs a day. Anyways, we're on track and will conduct weigh ins from now on.

I can't say enough good things about the store manager, Heather. We ran into an issue with our bulk order/delivery and she was able to quickly rectify the situation and went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. Fantastic customer service 10/10 would recommend. Also, the our dog loves the chicken and rice recipe and has been extremely healthy since switching to this brand.

This place is beyond amazing. The staff are very nice, accommodating, and on top of things. Frequently they are busy but always greet you and acknowledge you. They have answers or are willing to get answers quickly for you. They want to help you figure out what you need, and they do it well!

This food is making dogs sick - I found this out the hard way with my dog getting very sick after eating only one package of their frozen food. Only began suspecting the food when my other dog started to show similar symptoms. Photos are of reviews on their website. Company also went around me and contacted my vet to obtain records even though I told them not to.

Our picky mini poodle finally has food he loves! We tried everything before Just for Dogs. When we finally decided to investigate they're fresh approach to real dog food, we took our time to make sure they could keep our finicky guy happy for the long haul. We're three months in and now are loyal customers. Jasmin really took time with me to help me determine the right way introduce & portion foods and store them for safety. The entire team is a welcome addition to the community.
