Food was OK... ambiance was old school and very classic... service was literally the worst service we have ever had! And trust me, at 60 years old I've been to thousands of restaurants! That says a lot, to be ranked the worst!

Great place to eat!!!! Best hamburger's in Bay Area. And everything else on the menu is scrumptious.

Marin Joe's will remain a forever mystery. The parking lot is always packed, the dining room always full with more diners waiting for a table at the bar. I finally decided to give it a try, got in all excited, thinking I was finally in the sanctum santorum, entering a place of tradition, good taste and excellence.I'll end the suspense there, to say it was a cruel disappointment would still be an understatementWe got sat in the "Redwood room" probably given that name because the room, the floor, the decor, the table and the chairs are as old as redwoodsThe veal piccata was laughable at best, but actually quite depressing : A pink piece of sponge dumped into a swimming pool of weird tasting liquid (that they call sauce), next to some uninspired dry spaghettis in a second swimming pool of cream. The caesar salad, made me hope that Julius Caesar never ate that much garlic for Cleopatra would surely have ran away screaming. In a last and somewhat naïve hope, I thought maybe people come for the wonderful Italian inspired desserts, and suffer the garlic and the swimming pools, because the desserts are worth it.Cruel disappointment, the tiramisu likely stopped in Tchernobyl on his way from Italy, he lost half of his body, while the other half barely tried to hold itself in the plate while trying to pretend it still was a tiramisu

My husband wanted to try again ( not great the first time ) Marin Joe restaurant for his birthday. It was again a big disappointment. We ordered the caesar salad ( it was swimming in dressing ) I ordered the filet mignon ( half of the filet was fat ) the french fries were not crisp and the veggies were over cooked. For the price the restaurant charges it is not worth it plus the décor is very old and the sits are not confortable. We will not be back.

Step into the Time Machine with me and have a really good meal! Time traveling to a place where pretentious food does not exist and the service is terse at best...but that's kinda what makes this place charming! I've been going here with my father my whole life, we get the same things every time! I highly recommend, joes special spinach, veal cutlet and a burger that is extraordinary. My notes to the old and (new) owner is your "story" you tell people about not being able to do the Caesar salad table side anymore because of COVID is just lame- it's one of the best if not the coolest thing you guys have done for generations! It's just plain lazy that yall don't do this anymore. These days caesars are made at an old booth, in an entire corner of the restaurant which is kept untidy and disorganized, to go boxes, back stock of food and bev items litter this area- very unsightly. I will continue to come here and I will tell others to do the same - but come on guys - clean it up and bring back my table side Caesar. Thanks for listening.

I was looking forward to a visit since I hadn't been in years, but the food was subpar and service was worse. Meat was overcooked (underdone at the next table) and everything else was just "okay."Sometimes good service can make up for a bad meal, but not the case during my visit.

Marin Joe's is a Marin Staple. Excellent Caesar made to order and fantastic grilled fish.

This place gets 5 stars for old school charm and quirkiness but the decor needs a refresh and so does the menu. Servers are friendly and witty with a wry humor of folks that know their dry martinis and steak dinners. Even the valet parkers are charming and cool. I loved my martini but that was the highlight of the meal. The Caesar salad was nice but a little soggy, the petrole sole suffered from a similar water logged tendency. I want to come back to find the perfect dish but am in no hurry.

I've been going to Joe's since I was a child. I've been to all of the locations and they have all been great! I heard Marin Joe's changed ownership but I still decided to give it a chance last week. It was terrible. The burger was dry, bread was stale, and it's definitely not the same old Joe's! The burger used to be the best in the Bay Area. Thank goodness Woodlake Joe's and Original Joe's are still amazing. I won't be returning to Marin Joe's again.

I wish I could give it less.. This has been a very disappointing outing. From the moment we stepped through the door we had a very rude hostess yelling at us to come in and close the door, even though the place was packed and there was no room. She pushed us to force the door closed then yelled at us again to get out of the way despite having around 10 people in front of us trying not to block the busy waiting staff carrying plates. We ordered Filet Mignon, And asked for red potatoes as our sides(my fiancée and I).. food got here and I got another steak, not a filet... my steak was quite undercooked(I asked for medium well) my fiancée's was a pool of blood barely touched the heat I guess (she asked for medium rare but this thing was very very rare.) our potato sides consisted of two very small red potatoes sliced in half.. if I knew this I would've asked for the pasta side... this isn't a side. The chef's talked all night barely paying attention to what they had to do, I guess it makes sense considering our meal was nowhere near what we ordered. The place smelled badly when we came in around 5:30. They leave the menu on top of the eating utensils, which is not very hygienic since whomever ate last and touched the menu just passed their hands around the utensils you'll use to eat. Maybe not everyone cares, but I do. I didn't ask for another plate or make a fuss cause I doubt they could've done any better. My fiancée did ask for another drink because the one we got was a stronger than she expected, the response was the waitress and a waiter laughing at her, even after saying they'll get her another one. Lastly, the waiters yell right over the food that's ready to be served. It serves no function as the chefs aren't paying attention and they've got the written order to prepare the food.. I did notice some of the older waitresses spray the food with spit while yelling for no reason. Not spitting on purpose but definitely a couple drops, as they yelled the orders to the chefs that weren't even listening. Do not recommend, very disappointed at how rude and bad the experience was.

The kids had Shirley temples that were enormous! I loved our wine glasses...so adorable - Now the food quality was robust! Be hungry when you come because you will want it all. We did the Cesar salad/ shrimp L. Salad Mushroom Omelette/ spaghetti with meat sauce/ fettuccine and/ classic cheese burger - Bravo to the cooks for excellent dependable food that warm the heart and make our bellies full!
