Expressing deep concern regarding an unpleasant experience with one of your employees. First of all, when I entered the store, NO ONE greeted me, although 2 people looked dead at me, so I decided that I would wait for a young lady who was busy at the time, but looked pleasant. After about 10 minutes, one of the ladies that stared at me previously says “Do you have a return?”…I said, no, but I have an exchange if the item is available. She proceeds to ask if it is from the outlet store (because that’s what my bag said), and I said yes. She turns her nose up and says we don’t carry anything from the outlet here.
I found her behavior to be dismissive, unprofessional, rude and demeaning. Some things that were in the store were at the outlet also, and if it’s your policy to not take things from the outlet store, that’s ok, but you don’t have to be nasty.
Because I appreciate the quality of the Ann Taylor brand, I thought I necessary to bring this to your attention, and hopefully it will be addressed. But, as I scroll through some of the other reviews, it looks as though this is the norm for this particular store. I WILL NOT BE RETURNING TO THIS LOCATION!!!!

Wow i am reading all the bad reviews here and i had the same poor customer service experience from the so called manager of the store in Costa Mesa branch. I am extremely shocked that AnnTylors has refused to do anything about these numerous complaints instead has empowered the rude , unprofessional, untrained staff even more. This branch should be shut down.

A little too pricey and old school. However, do not think that crop tops are appropriate for the office. Materials are good, but wish the designs were more modern- and that doesn't include Short crop tops and Wide shirts. Not a good look on anyone, really.

I agree with Olivia and Mary’s reviews on poor customer service about the manager for this store which is Cindy. Cindy, the store manager who reports to the general manager Ara who needs to be informed about the poor customer service I and others receive. Yes, we aren’t coming back due to zero service and that is from a manager Cindy! Cindy, talks over you, rude, unprofessional with an attitude who didn’t let me explain that a final sale item was honored by costumer service online as they agreed at time of purchase. All I needed to hear from Cindy that an online sale item can’t be returned at the store even though approved from online costumer service staff to be returned online. Cindy didn’t let me explain and cut me off three times showing on the screen by enlarging that it’s a sale item. Cindy is extremely unprofessional and doesn’t posses the skills for costumer service and a MANAGER !!!

I just went there trying to return a very recent legitimate online purchase. Rude service, inconsiderate sales people. Will never go to this place again. What a change compared to several years ago! When you don’t treat your customers well, nobody wants to come back!

We returned a dress that was ordered online however, the Asian woman at the register (she worked on Sunday, November 27 at around 11:30am) accused us of removing the tags and stitching that goes on the bottom of the dress. We explained that the dress came that way in the mail. Even after explaining that we had absolutely nothing to do with the way the dress came in the mail, she still accused us of tampering with with the tag and stitching. We were deeply offended at this accusation. It was clear that Ann Taylor sent a dress that was already returned prior. The employee saw no possibility of that and instead continued accusing us. Teach your employees better customer service.

I purchased a pair of jeans on 8/31/22 amongst other items. Went to exchange or just get store credit. The jeans are still with all the tags. The manager of the south coast store would not budge. I explained to her how I purchase a lot of stuff from Ann Taylor and would appreciate it if they took care of it. Nope! She would not. She said the sku didn’t match I said I was here the day she was there and they scanned those jeans. They are on the receipt. Nope! Wouldn’t do it. I told her how busy I am and can’t always get there. Neatless to say I will not be shopping there anymore. Do these stores not understand busy career women?

I went to this store at the end of March. Purchased 3 items. I came back to return 2 items. I had the receipt, tags on the 2 items, and one was still in the wrapping paper and I had all in the original bag. Because it was over 30 days to return, I would have to accept sale price. Mind you, both items in original condition and I have the receipt? There are no signs in the store about a 30 day return policy. Apparently it is on the receipt but I had the receipt in the bag the whole time so never looked at it. This associate then marked my receipt and tore apart the wrapping paper before explaining the 30 day. DO NOT GO HERE. They want your money but not your loyalty AVOID THIS STORE and even their corporate customer service. They are more about profit than about customer retention

I shop at this location often and will continue to do so. It's hard to believe they don't work on commission given their commitment to customer service and teamwork. Thank you to all of the team members who make this store a great place to get some "me" time.
