The Wellness plan is a scam. My pet passed away mid-plan, even though they did not render the services listed, like vaccines and checkups. Yet, they are still charging me monthly for it to this day, claiming I am responsible for the entire year contract. Services my pet did need, I paid out of pocket at a "discount". When trying to figure out what services the plan was supposed to cover versus what you pay in the clinic, you find out the two don't really know what each side is doing; they seem to just finger-point. You are better off going elsewhere and paying for these services as you need them.

Had a really unfortunate appt today- I brought my pups in, we typically used a different Banfield but we’ve since moved. I’ve requested appts and I never got to see a Vet at this location until today. My older pup which is used to vet visits was upset with how they took his blood, which has never happened. My other 7 month old puppy came back from them anxious and not wanting to be touched, she is normally very friendly and gives the belly up for almost everyone- I’ve never seen her act like this- so uncomfortable and distrusting. The tech kept saying my dog was crazy, and the doctor was nonchalant about telling me my older pup had a heart murmur. I asked for more information on spaying for my puppy, and they just kept pushing to schedule the appt and for me to upgrade my pup plans. I feel terrible for taking my dogs here- my puppy was really uncomfortable and she’s always happy and friendly. This isn’t the place to go for quality vet visits.

perfect blend of understanding the care needed in the moment, listening to dog an parent to figure out issues. staff is on point, an if needing a animal doctor.. going to BANFIELD ( Santa Ana, Costa Mesa)is the spot!

Wonderful attention, customer service was over the topTheir help and kindness was amazingI would only change something about the EU certificate since we had the drop our dog and stay there for ours, it would be better by appointment and on the go if possibleOther than that everything amazing

If zero stars can be given, that is what this company deserves. Receptionist is RUDE and very SNAPPY. Very uneducated in how to treat veterinary clientele. Uneducated in their own policies and then try to make it the owners fault when THEY give bad information. Other reviews of the manager, Kayla is very much true. Very rude. Not helpful.This establishment is a QUANTITY over quality. They rush through everything to meet their numbers quota. They are complete opposite of what a real small animal practice is. No quality. No compassion. They push the wellness plans which is a complete joke.Would say more- but nothing will ever change about this company( it’s a joke when the “owner” replies to your complaints. I’ve already reached out and no one answered). Rather go to a real veterinary practice. It’s corporate and will never be a practice. This location needs a revamp of CSCs, managers and staff. Replace with real educated members. Members with empathy, compassion and true quality customer service.

Visited for the first time on October 9th to have my 3 kittens checked. Was indifferent on my opinion until the vet tech in his early 20s brought back my kittens and told me what he enjoyed about each of their different personalities which was SPOT-ON to how they are 24/7. So 5 stars for attentiveness.

I brought my dog in because he had been really itchy. They did a check and assured me nothing was wrong with him and that he may have allergies. Suggested I try a point injection shot - so I did.Turns out my dog has fleas. This is specifically what I asked them to check for. So not only did I purchase a $100 shot that he did not need, they failed to thoroughly check my pup.

I want to start off by saying I hate leaving bad reviews, but this is important. the miscommunication at the Banfield in CM is awful. i got a call today canceling my puppies vaccination appt; they said i could bring him before 2p. I said i'd check and call right back. I call back 2 minutes and ask if i can bring him at 1 they said he can't come in today and can at 11:15. I call and say i'll take the 11:15 she said they can't until 11:30, i asked to speak to office manager because the run around is not ok. she said he's on "PTO" and I asked for an email and she said she couldn't find it and gave BAD attitude on the phone. customer service is everything. if she was kind to me on the phone i'd completely be okay with this. but she was not. i spoke to Charlie on the phone who gave unacceptable attitude. i don't appreciate this at all. anyways, we are NOT coming back.

I've always had an amazing time visiting the Banfield Costa Mesa location. Steven (Stephen), the manager, and Charlie, one of the technicians, had such amazing customer service. They were both so comforting and calm during our conversation, and that means ALOT when your pet needs to visit the vet. We appreciate you both and the rest of the banfield team!

Impossible to speak to them. They never answer the phone, kept sending me to voice-mail which was full. They finally took the phone off the line which answered the phone but would not respond to me for a minute, so I assume they just picked it up and set it down so it would stop ringing. I am in the vet field and this absolutely insane to me, they would not even let me hold.

I don't love chains at the expense of local owner operated businesses. Although Banfield has 1000+ hospitals, the Costa Mesa location makes me feel like its local. I needed a travel certificate to bring my dog outside the country. Jackie and [Steve?] went over and above to help me navigate the process and check in regularly. And I always feel my dogs are well cared for when I drop them. Only complaint is it's sometimes hard to get through when I call. Minor issue. But otherwise very happy.

I got a kitten off the streets 2 days ago and just brought it in to this hospital. I didn't expect to go to this hospital but accidentally went to the wrong one. The front desk ladies, especially the shift lead, was AMAZINGLY nice and patient with me. I had a TON of questions and same with the vet and the vet tech. They were SO patient and kind with me and the kitten. I immediately requested to get added to the Optimum Wellness Plan for my kitty :)

The workers are super great and nice. They were very helpful for our emergent need. I did have a problem with the care that was given. Instead of 2 visits that ended up being over $800, we could have had the 1 and had the best care given with the choice of an operation. Instead of waiting it out and paying more money a few days later. Definitely give more options than just 1 way, before letting the client leave.
