Great experience at Battery Mart!?They had the exact battery I needed in stock, and I was in and out in about 10 minutes. Their prices were also much cheaper than other auto parts stores in the area. Highly recommend it to anyone needing a new battery!Pros: Quick service, competitive prices

Funny story about how I discovered this place. I was on the phone with Autozone and he had me on speaker as he was asking me questions about my truck and what type of battery I was looking for. When all of a sudden a fellow customer who overheard my conversation with rep. Says, “you wanna go to battery mart in Costa Mesa bro, save yourself a ton of money”. I was like who was that , rep says it’s just a guy trying to help you. So I hung up the phone and headed their way after looking them up. I grew up in Costa Mesa so I knew exactly where they were. Don and his guys helped me out. Got me In and out in under 10 mins. If you need a battery. Go there. You will thank me and anyone else who mentioned them to you later. I was able to save over $100 for a battery that does the exact same job as the $325 dollar one Auto zone was trying to sell me. Installed. I’m glad I found them. Also, they have been there for 40+ years. So I think they know what they are doing ???

I’ve been coming here for over 30 years. Every vehicle I’ve ever owned has/had a Battery Mart battery in it. I would never go anywhere else.

Excellent and affordable small business to get your battery replaced at. My car is running great and I only paid $89.95. Plus, I was in and out within 15 minutes!

Buyer beware.I purchased a "Battery Mart" battery for my 2015 Ford Transit Connect Titanium. My original battery was over 4 years old, and after leaving the car parked for 5 day, it was turning over very slowly.I paid $99 for replacement battery and another $100 for the installation - so about $209 with tax. I'm a retiree and drive part time for UBER 3-4 mornings a week. The Battery Mart battery never fully felt charged, and I had to call AAA to jump-start me before I purchased a portable jumper battery(AAA only gives you a limited amount of jumps). I called Don(the owner of Battery Mart less than a week after buying his battery. He claimed his battery eas fine, even though I had my mechanic check my car and test the battery(load test, etc.). After a few more days of my car barely starting and days of my car's computer wigging out, I finally told him I'd happily pay for the more expensive, INTERSTATE battery he is a dealer for. I agreed to pay the additional $69 - $15 of wcich were for a "core" trade in, even though I had originally given him my old battery! I also waited for the Interstate battery to be switched out, which took no more than 20 minutes - which means his original charge of $100 to switch out my battery amounted to being charged about $300 an hour for that installation. And the icing on the cake - the original replacement battery was a basic, sealed, no maintenance battery. The replacement INTERSTATE battery was an old school lead/acid type battery that you gave to keep checking the water levels on. Who knew these were even manufactured anymore? So that's my experience with Battery Mart in Costa Mesa, and that's why I say, "BUYER BEWARE".

(Saturday, October 15, 2022) For reasons that I can't yet explain, my review was somehow posted under my same name but to a different account. An account with this one review only. Couldn't figure out how I received a congratulatory Welcome-to-Yelp email Duh! Until I get that sorted out, I'm copying-and-pasting the review to the correct "Bob B." user account. - - - BATTERY MART (10/11/2022) - I've seen a couple of the really negative reviews and, of course, I have no reference point for those. And please know that I'm absolutely sympathetic to the occasional not-good-experience that bedevils every business and customer from time-to-time. Having said that, I have to weigh in about yesterday's GREAT first-time experience here. Typical scene: Dead battery in home driveway means no great breakfast with my regular Tuesday AM Crew. I do what you almost always do. I call AAA (aka Automobile Club of Southern California around these parts) for a tow because I just don't know for certain if it's "dead battery alone" or something more serious and I want to get ahead of the game if I can. Cordial Southside Towing driver Sam shows up, checks battery, and we discuss ACSC's battery replacement service which I've used before. The planned scenario is for them to show up, install the right new battery, take your credit card info ... and you're done. Easy enough in theory. But yesterday, after more than an of waiting past the scheduled time, I get a call back from the Auto Club saying "no technicians and no batteries" in your area today. (I live in one of the most population-dense places in the country where you can throw a rock and hit an Auto Club-related vendor, right? Can't figure it out. Surely this isn't the fault of Covid? That's still the all-purpose excuse for any substandard circumstance.) So, my wife drives me to my Volvo mechanic, Tom Donoghue at Value Auto in Costa Mesa. Check out my stellar and well-deserved review of him and his business. The man actually drops what he's doing and drives to my nearby house ("Tom, we can do this tomorrow"), successfully jumps the battery, and leads me to the place near his shop where he sends all his customers: Battery Mart. It's a little tough to spot from the street as it looks like a private residence next to Herb's Garage until you look closer (see photo). The nearest major landmark would be the Jiffy Lube on the corner of Newport Blvd. and Victoria St. I pull into the driveway and around the back straight in to a service bay. Pop the hood, battery chosen. Given a $99.95 price quote and I step over to the counter for invoice and payment. In the time it takes me to pay and turn around, the job is done! Unbelievable! I've spent longer at traffic lights than it took to get that battery into my ancient chariot. Their business card reads "THE FACTS-THE SAVY [sic]-THE BATTERIES" and "HOME OF SUDDEN SERVICE". To misspell "savvy" ... insert your own joke here (it's correct on this Yelp page) ... but their description was my utterly-satisfied experience. Of course, time will tell the tale about the battery itself and any necessary return visits. But if you get online and invoke one of those "find your battery search engines", make sure somebody's standing nearby to revive you from the sticker shock at how much most of them cost these days. After a morning in Dead Battery Purgatory, it was nice to have a good end to the story!

Just left there, total process was less than 5 mins. Again, let me repeat that reviews say "it takes 5 mins" it was faster and easier than what I expected. Tipped the tech 10 bucks for his professionalism. Total cost was like 120, way better than the 200 quotes I got.
