The staff is kind and attentive but… This place is an absolute dump. I’m not sure why it says rooms are recently renovated. This place looks like it hasn’t been touched since the late 90s. 250.00 a night for this is absurd. I feel like I’m staying in a roadside motel when I’m in my room with a stained couch, not so well cleaned bathroom, disgusting carpet, dirty drapes, and I’m terrified of the itchy, scratchy, sheets. I cannot wait to get out of here.

Beware. If you book a room for a King bed suite, the Marriott Hotel at Costa Mesa CA can change your purchase room to two twin beds when they are “sold” out. They will not refund your purchase or upgrade your accommodation. There is no recourse. Essentially it is a bait and switch scenario. You can either take the lower value accommodation or you can leave and still no refund.Beware of Bait and Switch. Avoid this Hotel. The night front manager was unprofessional and rude.Accommodation review.Bad things: Likewise. Like other reviews. There is no soap or shampoo. The water pressure is very low and you cannot get a good shower. The room is old and dated. The towels are worn down, dry, and rough on your skin. Interesting Stains on the carpets (please wear your shoes/slippers).Good thing: Not much. Location is close to the attractions. Bed appears to be clean.Overall:This is probably one of the worst Marriott that I been to. This Marriott needs new management and hospitality training.Avoid this Marriott at Costa Mesa CA.Rooms: Old and dated. Carpet unclean and stain. Very low water pressure.

I am deeply dissatisfied with our recent hotel experience. From the moment we arrived, it was evident that transparency and guest satisfaction were not priorities. They conveniently failed to disclose parking fees, leaving us with an unexpected expense. Upon entering the room, I noticed partially used soaps, indicating poor hygiene practices. Furthermore, housekeeping rudely awakened us at 8 am, despite checkout not being until noon. The presence of yellow dots on the bathroom ceiling, likely from drug use, poses a serious health risk, especially to children. Additionally, vague responses about breakfast and extra charges added to the frustration. To top it off, the hotel neglected to inform us of pool and hot tub hours until we attempted to use them. Lastly, encountering elevator issues further highlighted the hotel's disregard for maintenance and guest safety. Overall, this experience was marred by hidden costs, hygiene concerns, and a blatant disregard for guest comfort and safety. I strongly advise against staying at this hotel until they address these issues and prioritize the well-being of their guests.

Our room was NASTY!!! There were pubes all over the shower, sink, and floor! Don’t even get me started on the sheets! There were mysterious brown stains on the bedsheets and what looked like blood on the pillow cases. It was like a scene straight out of Dexter. My toes were curling! However, the front desk man was really nice and helpful.

You know, I’m not usually one to complain but this was not a great experience for me. First of all, there was dust everywhere. The place was not really clean. The shower had dirty and mold. I didn’t even use that it was so gross. See photo… The carpets were dingy and worn out. The beds were like what you would get from a cheap motel. It was so uncomfortable that I tossed and turned all night. I booked through USAA and there was also no mention that it would be almost $50 for parking and of course by the time I got there it was too late to cancel. I mentioned this to the front desk and the person was rude. She stated it was listed on their website. It was hidden at the bottom. However, they need to disclose prices on partner websites as well because it was no where to be found when I booked. Breakfast is also not included which it has been at most hotels I’ve been too. Overall for a hotel at this price, I would expect more. Unfortunately, if this is the standard, I won’t be staying at Marriott again.

The room is good. Quiet and kid-friendly. The location is fantastic. It is literally close to everything. We stayed on the 5th floor so it's not connecting to the room next door. The only disadvatage is they don't have a microwave in the room. You have to go to the 3rd floor. Apparently there is a microwave there for everyone in the hotel. One night my husband went to microwave milk for our baby. It wasn't even there... so someone must have jacked it. He asked the kitchen staff and they were happy to do it for us. Also, they don't provide water. We ended up paying $24 for 4 bottles of water, $6/bottle. We got there at night so we didn't need a room service the next day. But after that I noticed it was very inconsistent. They came at 11am and 6pm so we never got our room cleaned nor got coffee and cup supplies. I really love their dining service though. This server named Brandon is the nicest guy we've met. I was honestly going to give them a 1 star review due to the attitude we got at the front desk but because of a great service Brandon gave us, it was a 4 star for me. He's very kind, sweet, and nice. Other than that, you have to pay for everything including the internet (if you're not a member).Walkability: Walk distance to South Coast PlazaFood & drinks: Food at the hotel is good but service is the best!

Huge red stain on carpet in my room. I asked for foam pillows due to allergies and they never brought any. The sliding glass door did not lock. Positives include on-site parking and across the street from Starbucks.

Sabrina, Malia and Pearl are just a few of the absolutely top notch crew at this location. I am missing a few gents and ladies and for that I apologize because everyone here are truly fantastic humans. I literally try to stay here weekly. It's that wonderful and it's a beautiful hotel in general.

This was my second stay at this location, if it had been my first, it would have been my last.I am a Titanium Bonvoy member and upon check in, did not get the customary offer of bonus points or a Market item. I did not get an upgraded room (of which I know there were better rooms available for the 1 night of stay. The room I was given had an overwhelming musty/moldy odor. The next morning I went to take a shower, the soap container in the shower was empty. Then maintenance was knocking on my door around 830am because there was a leak in the room under mine (hmmmm might have to do with the musty odor) and he wanted to see if it was caused from my room. It seems it was not though. It is a huge disappointment because my first stay was pleasant. At a Titanium member I don't feel as though I should have to ask for a nicer room when one is available. It seems Marriott should better recognize and reward their loyal members.Oh, btw, I did mention the issues to the front desk clerk upon checkout. I did not even get an I'm sorry. Only a thanks for letting them know. This is my "You're Welcome" to them. Next time, please treat your loyal members a little better.

The hotel exceeded my expectations. The rooms are big, renovated and clean. Bathroom also. Elevators are fast. Location is walking distance from south coast plaza mall and shopping area. The hotel staff were all very friendly and extremely helpful especially Michael at the reception who went out of his way to make it a memorable stay. Cannot be more thankful. Would highly recommend.

Everything was perfect in meeting the Marriott hotel strandards. The hotels campus is shared by 3 other hotels creating an amazing and beautiful space to wind down a busy day. The ONLY 1 STAR rating is the SAD room they call Marriott members lounge. EVERYTHING ABOUT M CLUB WAS AWFUL- it is short of being a sidewalk Kool-Aid stand a child could set up.Nearby activities: Perfect 'posh' area for walking.
