Food was way better than expected. I thought this was going to be too fancy for good breakfast food, but, I enjoyed the fancy GF blueberry pancakes. We also had the granola but that was just fair.

Outpost Kitchen is one of our favorite restaurants in Costa Mesa! The fresh ingredients, kind service and talented chefs make for a memorable experience every time. My father in law had a couple suggestions- turn down the music and have a decaf coffee option!

We came here before seeing the Lion Kink at the Segerstrom Center right next door. We showed up 15 min. before our reservation and they seated us immediately. (I don't know why we bothered to make a reservation, the place was virtually empty on a Sat. night!) We chose to sit outside as we often do, weather permitting, just before sunset and as it cooled down the heaters went on and we were never uncomfortable, even in the plastic chairs. We had the Bruschetta and Rainbow rolls appetizers which were delicious and a couple of the house cocktails which were also tasty. I had the Shrimp Scampi entree which was fantastic looking and tasting from the first bite to the last. (definitely the best value of all our meals) My son in law had the Turmeric & coconut fish curry which he said was good and it filled him up even though it didn't look like much, serving size or visually. Just a white clump of what looked like slop to me, would have benefited from some color. My wife and daughter both had the Filet Mignon ordered medium but came pretty rare. The few bites I tried were like sticking your tongue out the car window, basically tasteless. No seasoning of any kind that I noticed, maybe they forgot the herb butter but the only thing that added any flavor was the shallots. My wife said the last couple of bites were better though. Bottom line, stay away from the Filet and you'll probably be okay. Prices for everything were high but this is a high priced area anyway. (or maybe that's why they were so empty?)

Ordered rainbow roll and wine for starters, then two of the rotisserie chicken salads. No complaints on the salads, starters came out with main course with no explanation or apology as to the timing. Rainbow rolls were fair at best, the salad was really good. Asked for an indoor table as it was cold and and was seated next to an open door that was never closed. It was as cold inside as it was outside. Service was below average. Aside from ordering starters and not receiving them in a timely manner, server barely acknowledged our table. With so many choices around Costa Mesa, I would have to say I won't be back.

very creative food - very fresh - enjoyed what we ordered very much. Service was good as well - despite the fact of getting a third glass of wine - that I did not order - and despite the wine being so good I didn't send it back. Two tips? really? One added to the bill automatically then another opportunity to add more? Glad I asked the waitpeson for clarification - she confirmed that indeed you do double dipping on gratuities. If it were not so we would come back!

The food was okay. I ordered a coffee with cream and was shocked to see a charge of $1.00. WTH? So incredibly petty. $4.50 isn't enough for a cup of coffee? At the very least the server should warn you. I wonder how much sugar is? I'll pass on this place next time.

Great service and our waitress was great. The food looks great but it wasn't very good. The chicken was over cooked and dry. It was expensive too. The eggs Benedict's was $30 and it wasn't that good. I probably won't come back.

What a nice Friday evening. The breeze was blowing and while some might suggest chilly weather enjoyed a quiet winter cosmopolitan dinner, nicely crafted fresh drinks and food, all well made and interesting in addition to downright good.

We had a reservation for two at 11:45. Received a text that our table was ready at 11:36 and we checked in at 11:40 am. The host sat us outside as we requested and were given our menus. No one came to greet us after, or offer us or our dog water, even though they weren't busy and had plenty of staff walking around. I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt until a couple seated 15 min after us... were immediately greeted by a server and had their orders taken. I took matters into my own hands and flagged an employee who was bussing tables to get a server for us. Christine came and apologize and asked if anyone had greeted us which we said no. She apologized genuinely and took our orders and we were brought waters. At this point we're already deservedly upset about our experience as we had been here just once before and the service was also subpar. We were then brought our food (after the couple who came 15 min after us) and we found hair in our bananas of our Nutella pancakes... At this point it's customary to at least offer free drinks, compensate the pancakes at the very least, etc, but nothing was offered. So again Christine apologizes and says hope we still come again regardless of this experience. We will NOT be back. Everyday eatery is 10x better and less expensive. Don't go here. Just go to Philz and leave.

We had a great dinner at Oupost Kitchen, which is mostly known for lunch/brunch. The craft cocktails were amazing and beautifully presented. Will be coming back for sure, just note that it closes at 8:00 pm, so our dinner service felt a little rushed (we had a 7:00 pm reservation, and didn't notice the early close time). If you consider coming here for dinner, plan on an earlier dinner time.

The menu is interesting and I especially like the baby kale salad with chicken, dates and pecans. This time the chicken was alittle tough so my experience wasn't as good as usual. I will go back as it is a nice place for lunch
