I've been here a handful of times, and it's just the perfect place to diversify your home and cooking goods. Tokyo Central has just as many products as a mainstream grocery store; they have fresh pre-made food, meats, bakery, home goods, alcohol, spices, and more. My roommate and girlfriend are Japanese, so they showed me all of their favorite items in the store and translated some of the labels for me, which was very helpful in breaking down what was best for me. Some items that are my favorite here are the green packs of furikake, Golden Curry, Mabo Tofu packets, Frozen Gyoza is a must, Sushi Grade salmon, kewpie mayo, Okonomiyaki packets, Pocari Sweat, rice crackers and Pure Potato Chips. I recommend leaving your comfort zone to shop here and buying new foods or items you have never bought before.

Stopped by to pick up a few condiments which I had ran out of, so my husband and I decided to grab a quick bite. Not only can you find quality produce, meats, seafood, and snacks, but they offer an array of freshly prepared (then packaged in-store) sashimi, sushi, inari, onigiri, and poke bowls you can grab on the go! Perfect for when you get that sushi craving but don't feel like overstuffing yourself at your favorite AYCE place. There are also freshly cooked dishes you can pick and chose yourself (buffet style), which we have yet to try. They have tables and counter seating if you opt to eat there. Don't forget to grab yourself a beverage too, which they have a lot to choose from at the cold section. Pay at the register, and don't forget to ask the cashier for chopsticks. Ended up getting a spicy salmon onigiri, inari, and shared a Japanese green lemon tea. All were delish! Till next time...happy eating! :))

A really excellent place with excellent selection and staff. Highly recommend the deli, with a buffet, and you're sure to find specialty items any day of the week, plus featured limited products, with lots of legit organic Japanese imports, still very well priced. Employees are very friendly and work well together. Very cool scene. Fun music and decor is throughout the store.

Sushi offering was spectacular. There's an area where you could eat your purchased food so it's a nice place for lunch or dinner. Supermarket wasn't super big but you could get all your essentials. I really liked the Japanese snacks and candies.

One of my favorite places to find Japanese ingredients. They carry great brands and have a wide variety of products. Their prepared food section always carries fresh made items and they have a lot of great options for snack or lunch. They start putting out items around 10:30am. Their produce section is a bit pricey. This place is usually busy and it can be hard to find parking.

The food court has authentic Japanese foods for a good price and perfect if you are looking for a quick bite.

Japanese market with vast amounts of different fresh foods, go there after 6:30 and get food items at 20% off. Also has bath balls and bath powder cheaper than in Bay area. Cosmetics and medications as well, overall I think its better than Nijiya in terms of market but Nikiya does have onsite restaurants which makes them slightly better to eat onsite or rakes-out

The sushi and takeout selection here is much better than the Mitsuwa nearby. But then Mitsuwa has an awesome food court. If you want sushi take out, Tokyo central is the spot. If you want good food court food, go to Mitsuwa.

Great food selection and love the feel of the store. Only drawback is the aisle are a little tight.

I've gone to the 3 other Japanese markets in the area and this one has got to be my favorite and most well organized with ALOT of things in there, the place is well put together. They have so many Hawaiian things and of course I always have to grab my Portuguese sausage, Hawaiian suns, and zippys chili. The price of the Hawaiian suns you WILL NOT find anywhere else , it's a steal. The zippys chili is over priced but if you are craving and missing home you'll have to bite it and pay :') The meat quality there is top tier, definitely the best out of all Asian markets in OC. Service is never an issue , the lines are never long and they always have a good amount of employees at the cashier.

So, I've been a huge fan of Mitsuwa for years, but boy did I have a mind-blowing experience at Tokyo Central recently. I gotta admit, I never gave it much of a chance before, but wow, I was blown away by the amount of food they offer for such a great price.I was actually on the hunt for a specific car air freshener - the CS-X3 "Blue Squash" flavor - and heard that they stocked it. But once I stepped inside, I couldn't resist taking a peek at their packaged lunches and bento boxes. I'm a sucker for meals that are $10 or less so I was glad that I had so many selections to choose from. I'll be back during lunch time to check out their lunch buffet and maybe do some shopping.

There's so much to look at here, groceries, fresh veg, food buffet by the pound, fish market, cosmetics, housewares... Amazing that's it it's just one store! Parking is the pain here. The shopping center has too many stores and not enough parking during the mid-day rush. Be prepared to make laps around the lot during peak times and holiday seasons.

It's a great place to pick up stir-fry meat, high-quality sushi, and tonkatsu ramen. Personally I like to hit the deli to pick up a roll for lunch, which varies from 6-19 dollars. In addition, the staff are super friendly and the store is always clean and well-stocked.

Love coming here with my husband and the little ones. We always have a fun time grocery shopping g with all the delicious foods, snacks, self care products and fun plushies and stuffed animals and it's always nice to get some already hot and cold foods to go as well! Some of our favorite already ready foods include onigiris, curry rice plates, sushi and desserts. We also love stocking up on Yakult and big bottled teas! I love coming here for my ceremonial matcha tea powder, ramen and soba noodles, Japanese curry and sometimes I will look for fresh uni I can bring home- so delicious! My husband loves getting eel and we also love to get wagyu once in a while along with a bottle of alcohol we can enjoy. The kids love pretty much alllll the snacks here so our cart always ends up so full! Once in a while, I'll check our the self care and health products and get a box of face or feet masks or some lotions and soaps. I enjoy trying new products every time. I love that they have fun claw machines and offer free ice once you're done shopping. Everyone is always so friendly too. We usually come once a week because we're obsessed with the Japanese style bread and Yakult!

I love shopping at this store. There's a lot of variety of snacks and imported Japanese products. The pricing tends to be cheaper than other Japanese import stores in the area. I really love the selection of sushi and ready to eat foods. The store can be a little disorganized but that's not uncommon for an Asian supermarket. Parking can be really difficult on weekends so be prepared to fight for a spot.
