Pacific Breast Care Center is phenomenal. Beautiful spa like environment - soft cotton robes - coffee/ tea stations. Excellent professional staff! Dr Combs (the radiologist) was extremely kind and informative. I would rate this medical office as a 10 plus. I cannot imagine going anywhere else for a mammogram when this type of office is available. Thank you Pacific Breast Center.

My autistic son had metastatic testicular cancer. At first Dr Andreea Nanci seemed like a Godsend because she was willing to give an autistic individual chemo. Things when wrong when I didn't want to take him home after we finished a round of chemo. I fought to keep him in the hospital and they found he was full of blood clots and moved him to sub ICU for treatment. Dr Nanci said the next morning that he would have died if he had gone home. He got an infection in the stitches above his chemo port that I pointed out. I noticed the puffy red area where they had forgotten to remove the stitches and the infection doctor took care of that. What destroyed our faith in Dr Nanci was when she herself sent my son James by ambulance to the emergency room from the outpatient cancer center because he wasn't responding to transfusions. Dr Paula Gonnella of the ER abruptly said that once he finished the transfusions the paramedics brought him in with, she was sending him home and don't bother asking anyone else, that was final. I called Dr Nanci to tell her James was being sent home. She wouldn't help. She wouldn't hospitalize James. She didn't want to disagree with an ER doctor. We had to take an uber to our car, then fight to get back into the hospital. When we got back into the hospital they said James was dying of sepsis. Dr Nanci let that happen to him. He survived sepsis but several nurses told me a week later they believed he was going to die the night he was hospitalized for sepsis. Dr Nanci failed us again when she declared him cancer free and said she didn't need to see him for three months and she took him off blood thinners. I paniced and begged her to examine him more. I was sure the blood clots would return and cause his death. I took him to City of Hope for a 2nd opinion about his blood clot situation and Dr Margolin at COH said to just wait three months like Dr Nanci said to. She would not test him. I took him to the ER and they did test him and they immediately put him back on blood thinners because he was in danger of dying from a blood clot moving to the lung. Dr Nanci frequently made comments that were hurtful. 'Instead of saying she was sorry, she said something like, "I've got news for you, if you die, he dies. No one else is going to do this for him." and she also caused unnecessary sorry by describing what they do for non-autistic patients when they beat cancer. They get to put on boxing gloves. James loved the boxing video arcade machine at the mall and would have gotten a kick out of that. It would have been better if we had not been told he was denied that fun. We got a new oncologist because the last straw was covid and the way Dr Nanci's office practically told us that we had to take risks we didn't want to take. Their staff at their blood lab wasn't wearing masks yet. When I asked why, the lady said, "I never get sick." I asked for permission to get the INR blood tests at the hospital outpatient blood lab because they were wearing masks there. Dr Nanci's staff gave me vicious messages from her, ugly threats that were surreal to hear. They tore into me saying things like, "We know you exposed James to covid at CVS because you called us from CVS, so you can take him to our lab, Dr Nanci does not recognize results from the hospital lab." That wasn't true. She treated James in the hospital as an inpatient and recognized the hospital lab results then. And it wasn't true that I had exposed James to covid at CVS. We use the DRIVE THRU CVS because of covid and wore masks. Even if we had been exposed to covid one time, that was no reason to give up and just get exposed to covid on purpose. I had gotten a new oncologist for James, a kind man who never verbally abuses us. James's primary care doctor prescribled the home INR test kit that Dr Nanci refused to let James have even though she let other patients have it. It allows you to check your warfarin/INR range much in the same way people test their blood suga

They really are just the nicest people. Getting a mammogram or other breast procedure is a bit stressful and sometimes even a bit painful, and they go out of their way to ease your fears and treat you with kindness and dignity. I had to get a breast biopsy done a couple of days ago, and I was nervous about the possibility of pain, as well as the unknowns of the procedure. They were very patient, and one of the nurses was by my side the whole time, talking with me to distract me, and rubbing my back to help ease my nerves. I won't say it was a fun procedure, and having one's breast jammed into the mammogram machine for a few minutes wasn't exactly pain-free, but the rest of the process was fine, and their kindness during the whole thing made it much more bearable. I highly recommend this center for anyone needing a mammogram or other breast procedure.

This center is phenomenal... all the staff are friendly and kind. Dr Combs is the best!! I've had several procedures with him and he is always comforting and reassuring. Lauren, the ultrasound technologist, is very nice and uplifting. When getting mammograms, the results are readily available... no waiting. I highly recommend this breast center.

I cannot say enough good things about this center. Mammograms are usually a source of anxiety. This time, the radiologist invited me in to look at my images and gave me incredible peace of mind. There is no waiting for a dreaded phone call or letter. The entire process took half an hour. Wonderful doctor and staff.

This facility is excellent and I have been going here for additional breast screening for over 18 years. The facility is clean comfortable and the staff is caring and nice. I have been going here since the practice was started by Dr. Alice Police before it was sold to UCI medical Center. Dr. Police stayed on and I continue to get my care here. I had a positive finding five years ago and Dr. Police (amazing) treated me, and the radiologist Dr. Freddie Combs is amazing as well. They have everything you need all in one facility, if you need additional imaging after your Mahamoe, ultrasound or MRI, it’s all right there. It’s extremely convenient. Dr. Police has since left and they now have Dr. Kansal. I still do my post treatment follow ups with them, and while I was disappointed that Dr. Police moved out of state for a different job, I was so pleasantly surprised with how much I liked Dr. Kansal and I have stayed with them. She’s extremely caring. If you live anywhere near this area, it’s the best! And they have all of the cancer research of UCI medical Center behind them.

I will not go back to this place, because they couldn't/wouldn't tell me how much I was going pay for a breast ultrasound. They had said it could be anywhere from ballpark $150- maybe $400 something, but I was charged over $1000.

It feels weird that I'm reviewing a Breast Care Center..But id you have boobs and live in Orange County, you should be going here. Today was my very first mammogram and I was a little nervous because people tell horror stories about how your boobs get smashed, cold hands and Uncaring staff. Well, I got big girls and my girls didn't feel smashed at all. It was easy and everything was explained step by step. The scans were read immediately..now waiting for days on results. They found a lump and immediately I was able to get an ultrasound to get a closer look. I was also scheduled right away for my biopsy that will take place there as well. I'm not worried because the staff there was phenomenal. They are warm and caring and hilarious. It almost feels like you're at a spa when you're taken Back in the exam area..their are nice soft robes for you to wear and water and coffee and tea are provided. They make sure you are comfortable..that's for sure. I couldn't recommend this place more.. Super grateful this is the place I was referred to.

Pacific Breast Care is the BEST mammogram experience I've ever had, and this included being diagnosed with breast cancer on the spot. I arrived for my mammogram and was greeted by a cozy and inviting waiting area. The staff were exceptional and welcoming. I was given a key to a locker that had a robe and footy slippers, with a private changing room. From there, I waited in a smaller waiting area where coffee/tea/water was provided. The bathroom is more like a spa bathroom, very clean and large. Upon being taken back for my mammogram, I was very nervous as this was a "diagnostic" mammogram. After the mammogram, I met with Dr. Combs who took me to his office and showed me 2 giant video screens of my mammogram. It was there that he diagnosed me with breast cancer and showed me where the cancer was. Although it was a shock, I was grateful to be told right then and there without having to wait for days/weeks. Everything after that was kind of a blur. I was immediately taken to another room for ultra sounds and biopsies. By the time I was done (4 hours later) I had results from all procedures and an appointment with Dr. Karen Lane (the Breast Surgeon) for the following week. And another appointment set-up with Dr. Robert Carroll (Oncologist). All-on-all, this is a great facility, with a phenomenal staff and comforting environment.

Excellent Facility! Office staff understands how stressful breast cancer is for the patient and family. They go out of their way to coordinate surgeon appts on the same day as the oncologist so you can get it done in one visit. Dr. Lane is an incredible surgeon. Partial mastectomy scars barely show and lay totally flat. The first surgeon said that all kind of skin would have to be removed. Thank Gawd we didn't go with them and wind up looking like Frankenstein! She is also so very patient with all your questions. They also do routine mammograms here and are exceptional. They offer 3D mam's for dense tissue and don't extort extra money out of you saying insurance doesn't cover it. Dr. Combs reads it and comes in after to go over results with you. Even normal results. He is thorough & very kind. The oncologist we work with at this office is Dr.Carroll. I'm pretty certain he's a genius. I feel smarter every time we meet with him. This man knows his stuff, loves his craft, and is a really nice man as well. :-) Parking is easy and free. 5 stars plus!!

This was my first visit. There is plenty of parking and the center is on the 2nd floor. Check in was 10 minutes or so. It was busy but not jammed. The lobby was small but nice. Mix of people, young to older, with some family members in the lobby only. It took about 15 minutes to be called to the back. They gave 3-D Breast Mammogram machines, which are great. Especially if you have dense breast tissue, which half of women have. The back is like a spa, changing rooms, soft robes, and lockers for your belongings. The back is for patients only so it's quieter. You then enter a small waiting area with a coffee, water, and tea station. I waited about 15 minutes in this section, reading magazines while I waited. Bathroom is in this area and is nice and clean. You are then retrieved by your technician who takes you to a test room. This is the only room that did not feel relaxing. Hoag dims the lights a I really like that about their facilities. If this place didn't have bright Florescent lights in the exam room, that would be great as that's my biggest suggestion for them. The test is done in 15 minutes or so. Mammograms are uncomfortable but it's over soon. This is where I thought I'd be leaving, as other places have me leave. But here after your imaging, they take you to another small waiting room, with another tea/coffee station. I asked why? My technician told me that the doctor would be looking at my images now and would tell me the results. I've never had breast cancer but waiting is hard on tests anytime. Really great because it eliminates the wait. You always worry when your waiting for a test result, so knowing ASAP = less stress, less time not knowing. The Doctor called my name I. About 10 minutes and started talking to me in the hall, not a room. He delivered the good news. Everything looks normal. Great. I would have liked a room to be told, but with good news, telling me in the hall was fine. He mentioned that he'd add an ultrasound to the mammogram next year perhaps due to my breast implants and dense breast tissue. Overall great experience. Will be back every year and hope for the same great results and experience.

BEWARE of UC Irvine Health Single Billing--Used an IN-NETWORK Dr and told by my INS 100% Covered . Billing charged me $200 and after 5 months of back forth-- Ins. Told them to bill Correctly --proper coding-- and it would be paid. UCI NEVER DID and after 5 months of effort they sent me to collections.. now my INS cant pay as UCI NEVER corrected their INCORRECT codes. THIS WAS WELL Women Check ONLY..... UCI BILLING IS inept and careless not to mention outrageous in sending me to collections when I had done what they demanded. I WILL NEVER USE UCI MED due to the unprofessional uncaring billing dept. HORRIBLE

Mammograms do not inspire smiles - however - I was smiling after coming to UCI Health Pacific Breast Care Center. It must have been designed by women - as every aspect of the experience makes you feel cared for and respected. There are no icky paper gowns. Here you are given a comfy robe (like you'd get in a high-end hotel). The environment feels like a spa - with soft furniture, music & even tea/coffee/water. The team of health providers speak with you (not at you) with genuine care and in language that you can clearly understand (= no jargon). This is the way health care should be - for a physical health as well as emotionally and mentally.
