I want to start off by saying Dr. Radovich and Dr Renehan are the best. They have been taking care of all our animals for over 40 years and have done some very serious operations on our dogs with success. Unfortunately when Dr Radovich sold his practice to VCA the service has been going down. Yesterday I called and said I needed more pain medication for my dog who is 14 years old. They said I had to make an appointment to get the medication. So I said okay I can come today and they said they were booked and could not get our Dog in. I explained he does not have enough medication to get through the weekend and If they could please squeeze me. They said sorry!!! I asked if they wanted my dog to be in pain all weekend. Just got a sorry come on Monday. Since VCA have taken over, it is a business with rules not a caring place that it was before Dr Radovich sold it. I called Newport Hills veterinary and explained the situation and they said they were booked but of course would squeeze me in so my sweet dog would not be in pain. They were so nice and compassionate to my sweet Charlie. They gave him plenty of pain medication and now he is a happy dog.

I don't know about this vet. For me, I won't be back. My dog was having some issues on a Saturday, when our normal vet was closed, so I took them to VCA Airport. The positive is that they were flexible and able to get me in last minute. My whole experience there just felt a little strange and off. The vet seemed competent, although post appointment, I am just not sure anymore. My dog is still having issues almost a week later, in fact her symptoms have gotten worse. Concerned that the antibiotics weren't working, I called her regular vet who told me he would have never put my dog on the antibiotics that VCA chose and it was completely wrong. VCA also took chest X-Rays and said they needed to sedate my dog. My dog was so sedated post appointment that they peed twice on me and the couch, etc. because they had lost complete control of their bodily functions. They were whining, completely out of it and uncomfortable for nearly 12 hours post appointment. It just seemed really unnecessary for my dog to be sedated that much. In addition, after speaking with our regular vet, he said he never sedates dogs for X-Rays, which now has me thinking VCA did so only because it was an extra charge. Lastly, the VCA vet told me the X-ray showed my dog had an enlarged heart, which had me completely devastated, but my regular vet says he believes they do not have an enlarged heart and it's just due to the positioning of my dog in the X-Ray. Overall, I feel my appointment at VCA was a waste of money (over $600) - my dog was not diagnosed properly and put on the wrong medication.

Wonderful and state of the art facility. Full service animal hospital with a professional and kind staff. They will try and do all they can to take care of your fur baby while also keeping in mind of your costs. The doctors do call you when they say they will and they/their assistants keep you updated. Nothing is done without your knowledge or authorization. They took great care of my kitten who had a blockage.

We had adopted a 2-month old puppy 3 days ago from an unethical, grossly negligent shelter who spayed her way too young, didn't advise us of the diarrhea or health issues she faced, and failed to discover her heart murmur. We noticed her intense heart rate after little effort from playing and consistent, shallow, fast breathing in her sleep. We were told she was healthy by the shelter (and that she just had normal debris in her ears), so we had taken her to the VCA for the metallic-smelling, unabating diarrhea concerns. Two veterinarians told us her heart murmur was at a grade 4 or 5 after listening with a stethoscope and told us she had months to maybe a year to live. They were rightfully appalled by how young she was spayed, so they checked her for hip dysplasia as well. We were heartbroken at our options, which were to get a referral for a cardiologist for a specific prognosis and likely necessary surgery for more than $10k or to return her to the shelter. They were patient and understanding in allowing us the space to process our feelings and make our decision. Knowing how much we loved this puppy and were wronged by the shelter, the VCA was absolutely accommodating. They waived our fees without us asking, and that kind act of compassion during our difficult time of healing from our loss made this process just a little less devastating. When our hearts have healed enough to love another animal, we will take any pet concerns to this VCA.

I have been going to another vet for 11 years for my 11 year old doggie. But needed a new vet bc his last vet changed their staff and we weren't getting the care we used to get. My friend recommended me this place and I absolutely love their staff and how they treat their clients. I really like how they explain everything and treat my pup. Highly recommend this place if you need great care for your fur baby.

Cannot say enough GOOD THINGS about Dr. Radovich! BEST VET EVER! He and his team have been taking care of my dogs for 36 years. I was 18 years old when I found Dr. R.. From broken bones, slipped disk, rare diseases, rotten teeth, lung issues, neutering, infections of all sorts, to general healthcare, their knowledge, expertise and care is most appreciated. We are always welcomed with a friendly smile and an eagerness to help.

10 stars if I could. This place is an absolute gem and one of the best veterinary offices I have EVER been to. Dr Renehan is amazing, knowledgeable and so so kind. We came here because my dog unexpectedly tested positive for heartworm after routine blood work. Our existing vet wasn't comfortable treating so they referred us to find another vet. After more than a few phone calls I had the great pleasure of speaking with Billie at VCA airport Irvine. She helped me book a fast appointment, she was so patient with me, she answered all of my questions, and she really reassured me that everything was going to be OK. When we got there we were greeted immediately. The front office staff was friendly and I was seen very quickly. They handled my dog really well, everyone was really patient with him and they even give out VERY high quality treats! I can confidently say that Dr. Renehan is the best vet I've been to in Southern California. She spent time explaining processes, options, and prices. She was thoughtful about the comfort of my dog and of the cost to my wallet. She answered my millions of questions and never once became exacerbated with me. My dog is very important to me and I know that I can be a lot. She made an experience that I expected to be terrifying and costly so much easier because she was so knowledgeable. Even at checkout the staff was so wonderful and I'm so so grateful to everyone who worked there, helped me, eased my concerns, and just had kind words. Excellent. Excellent. Excellent.

We love bringing our pups here! Our doggies got their influenza shots on their last visit. They've had their dentals done in the past before and they were in excellent hands. The wife and I have the full trust that Dr. Markos and the staff at VCA will take great care of our doggies on their visits.
