“We are from out of town. Stopped in on our way home and was pleasantly surprised. Packed full of stuff! Some pricy, others not too bad. Worth checking out. If you’re the picker type, this is a good stop. It’s kinda chaotic but in a good way. I prefer that style anyway, lots of everything in there!”

“This building used to be a bar with an attached barbershop. The bar itself is worth the stop. Friendly owners enjoying their retirement selling antiques. Very nice to see a business talk so well about their competitors close by. They told us where they all were located, even showed us a map. We bought an outside temperature with a funny chicken in it. Tell them the Hadin’s from sacramento sent you.”

“Chelsea Antiques is a speciality antique shop located in downtown Petaluma on Petaluma Boulevard North. As a small business who only deals with independent sellers this store ranges in items from furniture, art work, jewelry, and even unique artifacts. They have a purpose of keeping their shop away from being dull and predictable. When I had visited this store it was a respectable, older couple behind the counter. I really enjoyed how the shop was museum like. You can both indulge in looking at the items as well as buying them depending on your needs and budget boundaries. There were multiple rooms and different hallways. There was a second story floor as well. Overall I really liked the fascinating pieces this store has. There were narrow hallways so just make sure to be careful when walking around. Being careful in general is ideal in here as there are many one of a kind, fragile antiques. This shop is also wheelchair accessible. To the beautiful community of Sonoma county and visitors abroad I would advise you to check out this captivating and eccentric antique shop!”

“This place has satisfied all my salvage dreams. Not only do they have a huge selection of big, small, and unique items, everything is super reasonably priced. The owners are beyond fantastic, helpful, and you can really tell they love what they do. I don't live near Sabastapol, but find excuses to make the trip often just to visit Ray's and find some treasures. Go check it out, best of the bay.”

“★★★★★ — A Gonzo Dive into Time Itself

The Petaluma Collective is not a store—it’s a full-blown temporal hallucination disguised as an antiques mall. A mad tangle of the past, packed with relics of every era, every dream, and every broken-down American ambition. I came in for the WWII militaria—just to look, I told myself, just to observe. But the gravitational pull of history is strong here, like stepping into a museum curated by the ghosts of old soldiers and wayward collectors.

The selection of wartime gear was solid—helmets that still hum with the sweat of airborne infantry, medals that once pinned down glory and terror in equal measure. Trench art, ration tins, field manuals, bayonets that probably still remember the scream of combat. If you’re even remotely haunted by the 20th century, this place will grab you by the lapels and whisper, “Welcome back, soldier.”

The staff? Sharp-eyed, warm-hearted. The kind of folks who know the difference between a 1944 M1 Garand sling and a repro made last week in a dusty warehouse in Fresno. They’re not just cashiers—they’re gatekeepers of memory, curators of the American weird.

But don’t stop at the war stuff. The place is a sprawling fever dream of antiques, curios, and cultural cast-offs: mid-century lamps, Victorian mourning brooches, turn-of-the-century postcards with handwriting that looks like it came from a quill dipped in whiskey and sorrow. Every booth tells a story, and every corner might just hide the exact thing you didn’t know you needed.

In short: go. Wander. Get lost. Let history talk to you in strange voices. And when you finally stumble out, blinking into the Petaluma daylight, you’ll wonder if the present ever really existed at all.”

“These two buildings are worth the stop! Built in the 1880’s. They have a rumford fireplace so it’s nice and warm. The couple that own it are in their late 80’s at least. Very knowledgeable about everything. Everything inside is a true antique. Everything is at least 75 years old. No junk, fakes or gifts. Lots from the early 1800’s. He has the most unique little tiny banks that he collects. Large collection of pocket knives.”

“This was the 2nd antique store I shopped at one Friday in June, and it was a world of difference. I was greeted warmly and began my very long meandering through all the floors and rooms. It just goes on and on. Really saw some lovely items...and then spied exactly what would solve my need for a recently remodeled bathroom. I went to the cash register area and spoke with the woman about whether the owner of the item (there are several consignors in the shop) would negotiate the price. As luck would have it, the owner/consignor, in from out of town, was just walking in through the front door. We had a lovely conversation, she was totally amenable, and I got my chippy little piece of bathroom furniture. Couldn't have been easier or more pleasant. I'll definitely be back!”
