Horrible, horrible bank to work with. Employees are very uneducated and lacking in knowledge and understanding. The website and internal software is dysfunctional and exceptionally difficult to use. Do not recommend. Very bad.

The role of a credit union should always prioritize its customers, ensuring they have timely information and transparency, especially in a digitized world. Unfortunately, my experience with California Credit Union has shown that they have fallen behind in this area. Their coordination with third-party agencies, such as Allied Solutions, leaves much to be desired. When partnerships are forged, the customer should never feel the disconnect, but I've experienced firsthand the lapses and gaps this disjointed relationship has caused. Moreover, the absence of instant notifications on transaction changes is not just a mere inconvenience. It can have significant consequences, impacting future financial transactions and potentially incurring unnecessary costs for the customer. It's not just about modernizing their systems, but also putting in place a framework that inherently prioritizes the protection and information needs of their clientele. In essence, California Credit Union needs a paradigm shift in how they view customer communications and relations, especially when dealing with third-party entities. Until they make these vital changes, potential customers should tread carefully.

This bank branch is not for people who need instant deposit checks into cash. Tooooo extremely slow. I recently learned that I deposit my check that will be available in 2 weeks. I will be no longer a member of Union Bank anymore.

I have an EXCELLENT credit score well above 700, and my Auto loan application was APPROVED, so DO NOT mistake this review for someone unhappy about not being qualified. I submitted all required paperwork and these guys failed to respond. I called back twice, got an apology, and then still no follow-up. You might as well look elsewhere. In today's auto market with limited dealer inventory, nobody can afford to WAIT for California Credit Union. Review applies to ALL branches - my contacts were virtual.

RIDICULOUS is the only word I have to describe this bank. I've been banking with them for about ten years after leaving Wells Fargo. Today, I went to them because I am seeking employment with a company currently working remotely because of COVID restrictions. I just needed someone in the bank to verify who I was and sign paperwork verifying my social security card and state ID, the same documents I had to show when I first opened the account.I had an email from the employer (a big & reputable employer in Southern California) stating that the verifier could be a banking representative; I just had to send them the representative's contact information. The manager said they could not sign off on a form stating I am who I say I am. I have to stress again that it was a form verifying my identification with my state ID and social security card, THE SAME DOCUMENTS I HAD TO PROVIDE WHEN OPENING AN ACCOUNT!!The manager even told me that I probably had to go to a notary to get the information verified and sent me on my way. The bank has a notary INSIDE OF THE BRANCH, but she did not direct me to that person. For clarification, this was not a form that needed to be notarized. The ineptitude and lack of willingness to help a customer with a banking and line of credit with their bank are infuriating and ridiculous.

I've been banking with CCU for over 20 years. I've always been provided the best service, received assistance with all my financial needs and get the best rates on both personal and auto loans. I wouldn't bank anywhere else. CCU takes care of their customers.

This review is strictly for the Assistant Branch Manager, Martha Maldanado. I came to this Credit Union a year ago because I was displeased with the bank I am currently with. I was treated kindly by the other Assistant Manager that was there at the time and told if I ever have a problem to come to her. I decided signed up for a credit union because I was told they were more friendly than the big banks, but Martha has made me feel otherwise.Over the course of time, I have been having my auto payment be directly taken from the account and have used my debit card very rarely. I recently signed up to have my direct deposit switched to this credit union as well and seeing as though I was going to use this credit union for my primary banking needs I decided to sign online to check the account since I hadn't since opoeing the account last year. To my surprise it was overdrawn hundreds of dollars.Upon going to the branch and speaking to Martha she said all she could do is waive 2 fees leaving me still with an very overdrawn account. She stated that since it wasn't the banks fault she couldn't do anymore. I told her I had worked at a financial institution many years and I knew how things worked and told her if I received any kind of notification I would have taken care of it sooner so it wouldn't have gotten to this point. In the end she basically sent me on my way and was not interested. Her customer service and retention skills were like none other that I have interacted within that institution and her skills (or lack of skills) is the sole reason I will soon be REVERSING the direct deposit I set up last month and will be closing my account.
