I will give Pep Boys this - their advisors are kind, were able to see me right away, and covered transportation to and from my hotel to pick up my car.On Sunday I was driving from Bakersfield to Phoenix when my check engine light came on. I was near Glendora Auto Center was able to pull off the freeway and have a Walmart Auto Center read my codes of 300, 302, and 303. Pep Boys was one of the few autoshops open so I drove there. I was told it would be $100 for diagnostics and they would take it from there. They showed codes 302 and 303, and told me I would need 4 spark plugs, 2 engine coils, and a valve cap which they wouldn't be able to get till the following day since it was Sunday. They told me they would be in touch on Monday yet I had to call them at 12:00, 3:00, and 6:30 to get promised updates. Mind you they initially said I should be out by Monday afternoon - my 3:00pm call alerted me to an issue involving smoke tests and specialists and by 7pm - the one call they actually followed up on that day, I was told they would have the specialist continue looking at my car for this unidentified issue in the morning prompting night 2 in a hotel after sitting in a lobby all day. I was finally contacted by Pep Boys on Tuesday with updates still along the lines of "we aren't sure" and then again of "your car's computer may be slow".After picking up my car at 2:00pm I found myself with a lit up check engine light 40 minutes outside of Blythe. With it being 6pm on Halloween, there are no mechanics open and no Pep Boys in this town. An Auto Zone scanned my codes to identify the same 302 issue with recommendation to change the spark plug and engine coil. I am now waiting for my friends to tow me back to Phoenix.I've never been serviced by a Pep Boys and am only going to utilize them in Phoenix as I have a warranty from them on parts. Ford service centers only from now on if I can help it.And once again - I'll echo the kindness of the staff but the lack of communication and truly solving my issue after paying $1,100 - I expect better.**Update**The results of getting my car diagnosed in Phoenix provided that I needed to replace an additional 2 engine coils. After emailing back and forth and speaking with Pep Boys about the details of my second problem/fix, it is their professional opinion that this issue is separate and they are not liable nor were they negligent. Turns out - my vehicle had to be taken to a Ford dealership to get the computer reset after they fixed it. Because I drove for 2.5 hours before my check engine light came back on, they are saying they aren't responsible for the problem even though it' likely an issue of the old engine coils not properly working with the new engine coils. I was told Pep Boys is not allowed to make reccomendations like, "We need to absolutely replace two engine coils - you might as well replace the other two to avoid potential issues even though the computer isn't saying they are problematic now". This is a great business practice if you love repeat, disgruntled customers.Pep Boys, I recommend you update this policy for better business and to avoid unintentionally harming customers. Will not be utilizing your services again.

Nice people, poor company policy and communication. Not using their services again based on the fact that they do not "make reccomendations" for additional repairs you'll likely need after getting services. Two out of four engine coils bad? They will only replace the bad two, will not reccomend to replace the other two, and will not be held liable when the other two go bad 2.5 hours after getting your car back.

Don't ever come here!!! Trying to get something simple done, nope!! This place sucks. Seriously, don't come here. Scheduled an appointment to get an oil change at 9 am and still here waiting for my car at 2pm..... Tried up selling me and I wanted to just do my oil and get out. Told me they ran out of oil and had to go get more!? What's up with that... Seriously, just wanted to take my car off they didn't drain it already. This place needs to shut down.

When traveling from Southern California to southern Nevada on a Sunday morning, I ran over a piece of wood in the middle of the freeway causing two flat tires. My AAA guy recommended Pep Boys in Covina. I am so grateful these guys were very attentive, bumped me up to the front of the line and I still got home before sundown. Thank you, Pep Boys.

I got a huge nail in my tire, and she was going down fast! It was 6:55, and the shop was closing at 7. I called them and Mike answered and said to quickly bring it in. I did, and they got everything done quickly and cleanly. They were all so kind and gracious, and the pricing was more than reasonable.

The staff here is amazing! They were all super polite and extremely helpful, I was in and out of the place in less than 20 minutes for a tire repair! Would definitely recommend their services to anyone I care about! Mike and Griffin were amazing to deal with and I am definitely coming here again if I need service on my car!
