I really liked the rooms and courtyard. They are nice and modern and feel like they were built for 2023.

Total hidden treasure. My bf and I booked this hotel purely for its proximity to a wedding we were attending. Would likely opt for Mayumi again when we visiting Sawtelle in the future.PROS:- Can leave luggage with lobby if checking in early- Easy check-in + our room was available 30 mins earlier than expected- Gated courtyard with keycard access for added security; courtyard itself is quite hip and cozy- Complimentary breakfast items available in the AM (oatmeal, beverages, fruit)- Clean, modern room with entirely digitized setup (lights, shades, A/C was on a tablet)- Excellent noise insulation despite close quarters- Great location in Culver City, with a convenient plaza across the street- Free bikes available to borrow for the dayCONS:- Very small for the cost. Hard to set up two luggages and have enough space in the bathroom to get ready- No elevator for the second floor, only stairs...- No coffee or microwave in room, only in lobby; room only had 1 bottle of water (???)Staff were nice and fairly helpful. We only stayed 1 night but felt it was far better than the other options in the area.

Cute little hotel that's safe and clean. Love the shower shampoo and conditioners, also had good water pressure and water bottles for us. There's a sake happy hour every evening and lovely fire pits and comfy places to sit around in the courtyard. There isn't a parking lot but there's street parking, the neighborhood is pleasant and safe and there's a shopping center across the way. The continental breakfast in the morning has lots of nice things to eat and fresh coffee. The rooms are small but have smart switches and a fridge and desk. The only thing was we had a room by the parking lot in the back and it was bright even with shades, so we had a hard time sleeping. We'd come back but maybe request a different room. Other than that, awesome! Psst - check in on Yelp for a nice coupon :)

Though tiny, the well-designed ADA-compliant and Premium Suites were a great place in Culver City to reunite with friends from back East, visiting LA to see family. Martha at reception was particularly helpful, friendly and a joy to hang out with. Peter, the Manager, is a great guy and was very helpful with getting us settled. The beautiful, and well-used courtyard was a terrific comfortable place to eat breakfast, read, meditate, plan our days, and socialize with other guests.

Update Oct '23: reimbursement received but I confirm the difficulty to communicate with the hotel. It's something you need to improve.Update Sept '23: unfortunately after one months of out stay I still haven't received back the 250$ holded from Hotel on my bank account.I wrote them 3 times on the website, call them at my expenses from Italy and sent an email which was rejected from their server and still NO FEEDBACKIt's honestly not acceptable and if I will not receive back my money I will evaluate legal ways.Very cozy Hotel, really nice and clean rooms (little small), common area is super to chill out.Smart the idea to give the possibility to use the common kitchen if you need it to warm up some food.Definitely recommended

Clean hotel in a quiet suburban area. Rooms are a little on the small side, and the blackout blinds weren't great. but otherwise it was perfectly fine.

Spent a weekend in LA for a concert and some fun. Mayumi was a sweet little hideaway. Perfect alternative to box cutter hotel stays. Hospitality was on point and the private courtyard - with complementary water and sake -would absolutely stay again.

Stayed here 2 nights and enjoyed the rooms very much. Rooms are clean and smell really good. I loved that the shower is surrounded by glass walls in the room. The room was very modern. Service could been better. It’s amazing that we could go grab free water bottles whenever we wanted too. Location is good with grocery stores and shops just across the street. Would definitely stay here again.

A relaxing and clean oasis in Culver City close to LAX and SoFi Stadium! I enjoyed my past few nights here in town for Taylor Swift. It’s right across the street from a grocery store, Target, Rite Aid, and additional stores which made it easy if I needed anything quickly. The glass shower in the room was interesting and took a bit to get used to, but the colorful lights in the room was a nice touch! There’s breakfast every morning (although just pastries and toast) and water bottles in the fridge to always grab!! I really liked the open concept of this hotel with the welcoming “office” and the courtyard. If only I had more time to relax and unwind I would have spent more time sitting in that space.Cons: Location is good, but might not be ideal if you want to partake in many of the LA “tourist” activities – it was hard to find an Uber in a timely manner especially at odd hours. But this hotel’s location was perfect for my trip. The bath towels also weren’t great and were thin and had threads loose. Additionally, there’s only street parking but it never seemed to get too full.Rooms: Rooms are listed as two people, but be aware the rooms are smallWalkability: Shopping plaza across the street east to walk to

Rooms here are nice and modern. It's a little on the smaller side. There are plenty of food and grocery stores nearby and Westfield is about 15 minutes walk away. I found it fairly central to a lot of the things I wanted to see in LA but this might vary for everyone, I ubered around. Felt safe here but there's not much activity around after dark as it's in a real suburban kind of location next to a main road. Probably not a hotel for families as there isn't a pool or many facilities but great for solo or couples

This place was more like a 3.5 stars for us. We were matched with Mayumi through Hotwire and I wished we stayed elsewhere. My first impression was that it reminded me of an apartment complex. You need a key or have someone open the door to even get to the front desk. We came around 12pm and the receptionist that opened the door for us did not greet us at all. Immediately the vibes were extremely awkward. I asked her if I could do an early checkin and she was like "well did you call to ask?". I'm not sure why we were met with attitude for a simple question but she checked and said our room was still being cleaned so we came back at 3:30PM. The room itself was on the first floor. It was pretty small and for some reason the huge bathroom took up half of it. The bathroom was also strange in that it was encased by clear glass and you pull a curtain around the whole glass for privacy - the logistics of that didn't make sense to me. The lighting in the room was very low for some reason and that made the visibility very poor. I didn't feel comfortable opening the blinds because that would allow people outside to see right into your room. There was no mini fridge or microwave in the room either. And the walls felt so thin as we were woken up by people having conversations outside and housekeeping vacuuming upstairs. When we went to checkout it was a different receptionist, and he didn't greet us either. Maybe the unfriendliness is just the LA vibe? Idk but I was sure as heck happy to get out of this lawless land and go back to SD.

I love Mayumi! We chose to stay here for a couple days as it's near Sawtelle and offered free (street) parking. Luckily, we never had any trouble finding a parking spot. The hotel is quaint, sleek, and modern. I liked that the Mayumi had an outdoor courtyard with lounge chairs, a cozy fireplace, and instagrammable swings. Our hotel room was clean but it was quite small. Mayumi did a great job making use of the space with how they designed the bed and bathroom. I didn't mind the small space! I enjoyed the toiletries as well. Unfortunately, I did not take advantage of the continental breakfast and manager's hour but based on the reviews, I missed out!Overall my bf and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Highly recommend!

Amazing, warm, accommodating staff, very comfy beds, sleek rooms, decent breakfast, nice happy hour and sake tasting, lovely patio, free on street parking. Rooms are a little weird, dominated by the giant all glass shower - which leaves little room to get out of the bed on both sides. The blackout curtains don’t quite black out light because of gaps on all sides, and the location is a little boring, but it’s LA and everything is far away. It is convenient to LAX without being under the flight path.

Rooms were ok not too bad at all just a bit small and cheapish looking. Definitely more of a hip place to go and stay. Paying for more aesthetic than features.

The hotel:Very modern style where the kitchen dining area is where the staff will hang out and check you in with their laptops. There's "manager's hours" where they give free sake shots (which was served in wine glasses) and it was delicious. The complimentary breakfast is simple and just right with light pastries, coffee, tea, toast, jam, butter, yogurt, oatmeal, and fruit. The hotel grounds is inviting where you want to hang out in the nice outdoor lounge furniture and and night the lanterns/lighting and fireplace sets a nice mood. I thought it may be questionably loud but in your room you truly can't hear anyone outside which is nice. The room:Smart set up and use of space. It gives me an idea of how to create a guest house. The room is managed by a tablet screen by the front door. It's used to manage the blinds, windows, lighting, etc. The glass walls in the bathroom/shower is brilliant. I can watch TV and shower at the same time. The water pressure is nice and the Co.Bigelow brand body soap, shampoo, and conditioner were ssoooo soothing. My skin felt silky afterwards. The location:Right smack in Culver City near downtown Culver City, the restaurants, and theater, etc. There are shops across the street from the hotel as well as a fro yo place! It served to a wonderful place to hang out while we reunited with friends, taking our time eating the breakfast and enjoying the sake in the outside courtyard (all included in the price of stay!)Definitely coming back.
