“La Playa is truly one-of-a-kind and my children love going here! The teachers are great at recognizing and anticipating the needs of the children and are always finding new ways to engage them and work with their energy and big feelings. As a co-op, the school relies on families to be involved and work together and we are so happy to have found this incredible community. The families care about each other and the school. We also appreciate the emphasis on social development and conflict resolution and have seen incredible growth in our children this year!”

“This has been an incredible launch pad for my daughter. The relationship that our family has cultivated with some of the students and their families are beyond words. The school operates under the leadership of Aly who is thoughtful, caring and engaging with the kids. All the teachers are well educated and trained. The curriculum has good balance between learning time and playtime. Helps with kids mental and physical development. We are so thankful to be part of this family.”

“Choosing this preschool for my son's first year of daycare was one of the best decisions we've made. After thorough research and with the guidance of a trusted friend, we landed here. The teachers and the director have been incredibly warm and nurturing, making this significant transition seamless for us.My son's adaptation to daycare has been exceptionally smooth, and it's heartwarming to see how much he loves going there. It truly feels like an extended family, and that sense of warmth and care makes all the difference. We couldn't be happier with our choice. I love the philosophy behind Sunshine Daydreams. It's all about creating an environment where children can flourish, from fostering creativity to nurturing social responsibility.”

“This school has been a godsend for us. Saint Augustine-This is a small private Catholic school called St. Augustine right here in Culver City. They have a preschool through 8th grade. It was very difficult to move him but he has grown to love it. The small class size, structure, simplicity, and routine have really put him at ease. One does not need to be Catholic to attend. The school is very diverse culturally; Latino, Asian, Indian, and Black. I would guess at least 75% of students of color. The teaching staff is mostly Latino and white. The director, Dr. Nguyen, is a very smart, proactive, and considerate person. She personally spends time with Andre and other students to accommodate them. Andre personally gives her a glowing review and I can tell you that is authentic. So, it lacks bells and whistles but the teachers are professional and effective. They just combined the classes in 1-2 and 3-4th grades. This is beneficial for offering extended learning for advanced kids. It also offers collaboration, re-teaching, and scaffolding for the kids who need assistance in specific areas. The teachers work to develop the student's autonomy and independence. They encourage critical thought and deep thinking with project-based assignments that I like! I am an elementary school teacher and I really appreciate the staff here.My kid´s Culver City public school had a ratio of 32:1 in fourth grade. He was having behavior and attention problems and I thought it might be the class size and distractions. It was. Looking forward, the ratio is 36:1 in middle school. Additionally, there were safety and security concerns in the middle school so I did not want him to attend. So we did move him in the middle of the school year but we are so glad we did.”

“Reviewing the Mandarin dual language immersion program: the school and strong parent community have been amazing. The program is organized so that kids learn half the time in English, and half the time in Chinese. This is "double-learning" -- they go through a full elementary school program in both languages. The school also responded amazingly well to the pandemic, with teachers taking the initiative to send daily recorded lessons without skipping a bit before LAUSD even figured out what to do, then nearly a full year of Zoom, and now in-person learning with weekly testing. Kids are happy and learn lots. Can't recommend enough!”
