Many years ago, Weaknees was a legitimate business, but not anymore. Now they make their money by merely pretending to repair old TiVos. Make no mistake, they don’t actually do that anymore. Now they simply replace common parts, like power supplies and hard drives. But you don’t need Weaknees for that. Not anymore. You can buy new replacement TiVo power supplies online for about 10 bucks. You can buy new 4-10TB drives online for between $100-200. There is no need to buy such common parts from Weaknees, especially with their outrageously inflated prices. Any standard SATA hard drive will work in a TiVo. All you have to do is remove the old one, and plug a new one in it’s place. It’s so easy, a monkey could probably be trained to do it!Years ago, it wasn’t easy to swap hard drives or power supplies. Back then, Weaknees provided a valuable service. But since then, TiVos have become much easier to repair and upgrade. You can literally unplug the existing hard drive and put a new one in its place. Your TiVo will then go through a set-up process, just like when it was new. As for the power supplies, they are no longer built-in. TiVo stoped making them that way long ago. When they wear out, you simply replace them.To put it simply, Weaknees has outlived its usefulness. Instead of providing legitimate services, they’re now just a rip-off.

WEAKNEES IS A FRAUD Weaknees claims to repair TiVos, but they don't even have parts! The only thing they know how to do is swap the hard drive, and for an outrageous fee. Anyone can swap their own hard drive themselves. Just open the case, unplug the old one and put a new one in its place. It really is that easy! Your TiVo will then reset itself, and lead you through the same setup process you did when your TiVo was new. If anything goes wrong with your TiVo, do not send it to Weaknees! Again, the ONLY thing they know how to do is swap the hard drive. That's all! DO NOT TRUST THE CROOKS AT WEAKNEES

The staff here has an amazing knowledge of TiVo and is able to diagnose a lot of issues via email. They have great products and their self-installation instructions and videos are very through and easy to follow. I highly recommend them if you're a fan of TiVo (and you should be). Thanks Weaknees!

It's $50 for next day shipping. Imagine my surprise when I found out that means you get it the next day after they decide to ship it and if they don't decide to ship it for a few days they still charge you full price. Customer service sent me a link to a PDF on their website that says they can do that but it wasn't mentioned during the ordering process and the terms and conditions don't say that either. I sent customer service a copy of their own terms and conditions and apparently they didn't like that very much. Haven't heard from them since.Response to owner response: Don't offer overnight delivery on Sunday if you have no intention of delivering on Monday. It's dishonest if you do. I ordered at noon on Sunday. There are delivery services that get a product to an adjacent state on a Monday. You just chose not to use one of them.Owner just sent me a nasty email with personal insults. Very unprofessional.

My TIVO remote stopped working on Friday night. First thing in the morning I called TIVO, who informed me that they no longer provided replacement remotes for my older model TIVO (the Premiere model), but would sell me a new one for $54. plus tax and shipping fees. I checked Ebay, and found WeaKnees company in Culver City, CA. I called them directly and purchased my new replacement remote for $39. plus tax and free shipping. (They no longer offer a brick and mortar location to visit.) I am very pleased with their service.

Got GREAT guidance from Jeremy at Weaknees. Thought my Tivo hard drive was toast and was ready to replace. He told me that it could be the power supply (which Tivo support did not mention - grrr). Lo and behold, it worked! Easy, cheap and simple solution! And I was this close to buying a new unit. Thanks Jeremy! Will keep you guys in mind going forward. Really appreciate your help!

I had to post a review laughing at the other reviews. When people are rude on the phone bad attitude etc that tells me they are 100% legit because the uber geeks I know that can fix stuff like this, well they all act this way pretty much. I just shipped them my Bolt that blew out it's graphics card, after TiVo corporate basically said there is nothing they can do except ship me a ridiculous TiVo Edge (made by Arris, blech!) with less functionality. I'm getting my 3rd edge next week since the 1st two units keep losing authorization and/or sound every day or so. If that one fails to gonna get a refund and pray these folks fix my Bolt. That unit was rock solid on recording 4 channels OTA! ***will update review in a few weeks when I have more data, but for now, rude sales = exceptional repairs in my book until I see otherwise.

My TiVo Roamio (2014) suddenly stopped working. The culprit was the hard drive. I was going to order a newer TiVo Edge, but supply chain issues were causing indefinite delays. WeaKnees to the rescue. I ordered a new 1 TB drive on a Sunday and I had it installed by Wednesday afternoon. A quick call to the cable company and I'm up and running again in less than 30 minutes. I'm beyond thrilled with my experience.

I've done business with Weaknees a couple of times over the years and have had a positive experience. They have a unique skillset for those of us still with Tivos and have a good response time on all of my communication over the years. Some of the comments with negative reviews mention attitude, and while there may not be the abundance of please and thank yous you'd get at Chik Fil-A, I was treated respectfully and they took care of business, including replacing a hard-drive to save a lifetime TIVO.

I've been a customer of Weaknees for a little over 15 years now. No matter what you encounter they always seem to have a solution. My DirecTV DVR recently started freezing when watching recorded programs. When I called in they told me that the hard drive was probably shot. I ordered a new one and included the data transfer from my old hard drive and sent the DVR in late Saturday afternoon. By the following Friday I had the unit back and in perfect working condition. Not one of my saved programs was missing and it works like brand new. I couldn't be any happier with Weaknees! They are truly awesome.

The person that answers the phone in sales has a very bad attitude. He obviously lacks customer service skills and started raising his voice when I asked questions. I would refrain from doing any business with this company.

I would like to leave no star. I purchased a so called "refurbished" Tivo Roamio Pro for $499 and started having problems within 30 days. The TV picture flickers and the sound stops, requiring a reboot, interrupted recordings, then it works for 2 or 3 days, then TV flicker and no sound again. I finally called Weaknees on 888-932-5633 option 2 on my day off work, explained I have had this problem for months, but since I am 22 days past the 90 day warranty the agent said I would have to pay $20 for shipping to the store, $50 for diagnostics, plus more $ for whatever parts and labor are required to repair it. I said I would give him another chance to repair it for no charge, but he declined, so I told him the Tivo I bought is "crap." Then the agent said he would note that in my file and he would also note never to do business with me again. Wow, if I treated my customers that way, I wouldn't have any customers.
