There was an employee/ sign at the door stating that it's cash only because their payment terminals were down. Thankfully, we had cash. I liked walking down all the aisles to see what they had to offer. I was able to get a sushi roll for 20% off as a late night snack and also a package of instant miso soup. When it was time to check out, I saw some cute stickers, pins, greeting cards, and gift bags by Bright Spot Design. I purchased a card and resisted in buying more.

They offer a great variety of authentic Japanese food selections at reasonable prices. The shopping environment is clean and well-organized. The location is convenient. The service is nice.

Great place for Japanese specialties. Well organized and great selection. The only problem was the strong fish smell when entering the store.

We went to Marukai Market to just check out the other day while waiting for a table to a restaurant. There was a lot of people in there because of the upcoming New Years Day event Japanese people plan. There were a lot of people buying Japanese foods to help them prepare their meal for New Year. Marukai has a variety of Japanese foods and goods. Last year we came and found a nabe pot to give to my husband's parents. They have a good selection of pots and they even sell the butane fuel and portable stove. They have a lot of Japanese produce but they had no gobo on the day we went. Everyone was buying to make their gobo dishes. I really like looking at their bentos and fresh made items. They have all kinds of musubis, bentos, and desserts in that section. Marukai is a good spot to check out if you have never been.

We found this Japanese Supermarket quite expensive ie fresh salmon roe, fresh fish, meat & produce. It's on par with Mitsuwa Supermarket San Jose in terms of size, variety and price.Japanese markets are usually quite expensive but they both also have some items not found elsewhere so nice to browse around.Normally we wouldn't shop here as Costco, Hankook Korean Supermarket, Trader Joe's and Safeway are our main grocers, for reference.

It's really clean and has a variety of items. I totally recommend it. In particular, the sushi that looks like it was freshly made is impressive.

A smaller market compared to Mitsuwa, but I enjoyed browsing all the aisles of Japanese goodies. You can find fresh produce and meats. Lots of imported goods from Japan. They have cute little claw machines in the front by the registers.

Very nice selection of Asian products and also Hawaiian goods as well. The Bento boxes didn't seem very fresh, though. (Much better quality and selection at Mitsuwa.)Love "Daiso". Great place to purchase quality gifts are a very reasonable price!

Disappointed in the deli offerings at this location. The variety and quality is worst than any other Marukai, Tokyo Central, or Mitsuwa I've been to up and down the West Coast. Also, the cashiers here are always very petty and mouthy. This last time, they were asking for donations, so I said Sure, a dollar. The lady loudly and sarcastically emphasized, WOW! what a GENEROUS donation! I should've just told her nevermind now.

Surprisingly big for a Japanese supermarket, though not quite as big as Mitsuwa. Prices are mostly similar but can be very good for items on sale. This place has some unique product lines that you would not find at other Japanese supermarkets, such as Hawaiian products (in keeping with their Hawaiian theme) and Don Quijote products (since they are now owned by Don Quijote). They have a very good section of meat and seafood at reasonable prices, with things like real wagyu, American wagyu, and many different types of sushi-grade fish beyond salmon and tuna.

I love the place but constantly had issues with the cashiers here (e.g. things like rudeness, mistakes and list goes on). On 8/20/2023 around 7:30PM, I encountered this cashier (asian, with glasses, 20-30yo, William C, Trs#:192134) and he incorrectly charged me extra $20 for Maui donation. I noticed it right away but decided to let it go. As much as I need every penny to survive in the bayarea, I'm sure the folks in Maui could use the money more than I could. Next time, I suggest chit chatting less with your co-workers and pay a little more attention to work right in front of you. I also questioned the competence of the store manager as I saw 3-4 employees doing almost nothing but there was only one register open with a long line...

Excellent. Better than SF J--Town or Pacific Supermarket (SSF) as way more real Japanese goods at good prices. But the absolute best thing are the sizes/volumes of what is sold there. That "Asian market goods delivery service" is not par. I could go on forever, if you cook, you need large amounts of mirin, shoyu, sake, etc and great selections of them, for example. This is the best

This store reeked and the bathroom smelled worse. But they did have a decent amount of things that other stores did not have. Don't get the frozen mochi because they were gritty and freezer burn. The shelf stable mochi, especially the chocolate one was really good! The roll cake in the fridge section tasted like the filling was whipped cream, just the right amount of sweetness.
