If you cannot handle your menu, hire more cooks, reduce the menu, or try to drink less and focus on it. Your oyster smells, chicken has gone bad, garlic is all burnt and tongue is so chewy because you didn't remove the skin part! Don't be lazy with your work old man. Your attitude is only acceptable when your food is on the point.Respect customers by preparing fresh food

This place is authentic Japanese. Fantastic food, we ordered tempura soba, beef bowl, tonkatsu, and udon. Every item was delicious. Definitely come here.

Ate here multiple times but latest experience was bad. Ordered sashimi platter and sashimi was so bad; it tasted old. I let server know and she did not say anything nor take any actions.

If you've never been to a comparable store, it might be okay, but if you've been to many Japanese-style stores like this, you might be disappointed. First of all, I like this place, so I visited it a lot, but this place is in the middle or lower range.

Came here on weekday for lunch special $14 Tuna Bowl with my elderly mom. Lots of people there for lunch. Saw few Japanese there to dine in so must be authentic. Tuna Bowl also came with some side dishes and miso soup. Food served fast and $14 included tax that is a bonus.

Excellent place for authentic Japanese food. I felt like I was back in Tokyo at some small eatery. You'll find dishes here you won't find at any other Japanese restaurant. Only drawback is the small dining room but worth the wait.

Kitchen is open line so everyone can see, head cook constantly drinks on the job and based on other people's reviews it seems like he is often drunk while working. He is also distracted by watching TV while working the line, not to mention his verbal abuse to the servers, overall hostile work environment. I ordered beef guts with veggies but was only served the veggies, I had them fix it but they ended up letting me know that the protein for that dish ran out so I order the beef tongue. They should have told the customer that a dish is not available rather than wasting the customers' time! It took a very long time for them to start firing up the beef tongue and when they did, they rushed it so much that it's very raw. I'm not talking about seared and rare, it was raw and tough, barely any sear on it because the pan didn't seem hot enough. Upon getting home, I started getting stomach aches and diarrhea. They should not be serving food to the public.

I will always miss this lunch place when I used to work near Cypress. Echizen is a mom & pop authentic Japanese restaurant who serves the neighbourhood with classic Japanese home cook goodness. The butter fish is out of the world, lunch price is also very reasonable. Nightfall, the place turns into an izakaya with folks dining at the food bar around the kitchen. This is a taste of the real Japan in OC. :) Arigatou ne!!

The best original Japanese food I've ever tried! I had visited this place every time I go to this area and always the food is so tasty and great. I recommend the filet Mignon.

My nephew who's in town invited me to have dinner with him had suggested this spot in Cypress. The place is not that big and the ambiance is very authentic Japanese. It's very rare to find a real Japanese spot that has real Japanese workers with authentic Japanese dishes in the menu. We ordered two different kids of tatake, a kakui dish and beef tongue, all were super delicious. I will definitely come back and bring the family with me next time.
