Safeway delivery is HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!! Ordered $137. Groceries cut the week... received 6 bags.... 2 bags of detergent - (correct, ) 2 bags of someone else's order , frozen items & dairy item's (WRONG) 2 bags of spinach, tomatoes & avocados (correct) MISSING: salmon, steak, romain lettuce, dill, mint, olive oil..... (WRONG) ROUGHLY $70 of order was not received!!!! I have had so many problems with Safeway orders that I stood outside my home, with the driver and went through the bags with him. We circled all missing items! Somehow...2 weeks later... still fighting with customer service on fraudulently charged items!!!!!!! Problem so bad, I had to place an order with Whole Food for sand kittens on same day... in order to have dinner. This cost my $234.00, 1 week of groceries..literally 3 pieces of meat and veggies for salad. I do have receipts and pictures.... Safeway delivery is a joke!!!! Hard Pass!!!!!

Will be checking receipts for pick up orders from now on- I was charged $15 for a bag of green beans that was priced $2.99 online and $7 for one single tomato. I typically don't go back and do this but am trying to be more conscientious since groceries are more expensive

store 3031 in daly city, ca at westlake mall to buy some fruit. i got in line and melvin v. was the cashier "working" this line. while waiting melvin carried himself with a pubescent very big ego attitude. he was having a conversation in spanish with the store security guard which their topic was not work related yet instead it was tacky gossip and bad mouthing about different customers and what they were wearing. when it was my turn he started ringing me up and i said, "hello, how ya doing?" which he muffled a word but never looked up at me. i asked him, "what did you say?" he ignored me so i kept repeating my question until he just stated my total while completely ignoring me and acting like i was not there. this was the worst experience i have ever had in all my 44 years alive and all my years shopping in your stores! this kid has zero integrity, zero gratitude for his job and a complete liability to your company! i have never walked into a store happy to walk out hating safeway brand and albertsons with all my might. i did not deserve that and am greatly bothered you find this acceptable for your staff and the security you hire. not right! not good business practises.

I don't usually give reviews if they're gonna be negative but my last experience at this Safeway made me break that rule. I came here a few days ago and the cashier was so slow at helping the customer ahead of me out. She seemed either new or just poorly trained. After taking almost 15 minutes to help the lady in front of me with what was maybe a dozen items, she finally began ringing me up. The entire time she was talking to her coworkers, asking about whether an Amazon package was dropped off for her, literally stopping in the middle of helping me out to turn around and talk to her coworker (who was ringing another customer up in the next aisle over) and taking her sweet time like i didn't just wait 15 minutes for her to finish with a single customer. After I got home I discovered that she had left on one of my items I had paid for. On top of this, the person working the meat counter gave me 8 chicken wings, ALL LEGS. Why bother asking if I wanted a mix if you're going to just give me all legs? This Safeway has a good selection so I won't give it 1 star, but the employees could use better training and/or management.

This is my local Safeway. Recently, I've had issues with service at the deli counter. I've gone after work on three occasions between 5:30-6:30 PM, and despite workers behind the counter, they tell me they are closed. I'm not sure why they close the deli so early consistently and still show hours until 8 PM on their website. It is very frustrating.

It was a clean Safeway store. We walked around most of the store just trying to figure out what we wanted to buy to eat for dinner. The deli area had a nice selection of foods. Different salads and hot cooked foods. Went to the back and checked out the fresh seafood, tried deciding on what fish to fry, but then thought about how much more work that would take when we just needed something quick. They have nice selection of seafoods as well. There was a lot of people in the self-checkout, but it was actually going pretty fast. Can't remember how many self-checkout registers they had but I believe it was about 5, so that was helpful.

I've been a customer for a few years at Westlake Safeway and A LOT has changed. The good thing about it is that it's a big store and can somewhat easily find items, despite some things are locked up. Some of the employees are very helpful and friendly, and some know their regular customers by name or face. The downside to it is that they recently put up the electronic exit gate to prevent thief. Does it really work? Maybe, maybe not. It's makes other customer feel uneasy now walking into that Safeway. It's like walking into an airport and TSA is waiting for you on the other side. It's a a good idea to have the gates up but it's going to drive customers away from that store. I've recently shopped at other Safeway and they aren't that extreme. Other Safeway doesn't even blink an eye on retail thief, or just care on with it. I suggest to other people to avoid Westlake Safeway and drive a mile or two to other Safeway such as Pacifica Safeway, Chestnut Safeway, Westborough Safeway, or any other one. Don't waste your time at Westlake with the gated entry and exit.

Service is horrible. They are understaffed. The store is packed. I was in line, about to unload all groceries at the cash registry #3. A manager told me to go to line 7 because there was nobody. I left #3 for #7. It was packed. She did it so I can leave the line and close #3. The cashier at #3 left to pack groceries at #5. They like to treat customers like sh*t.

I like the goodies, but I rate them a 3 star only because they are charging the same, and now you are getting less. Before the same price, you received 6 chocolate croissants, and now you only get 4. Same with the brownies and other items

Salty customer experience from Dania.I was not greeted; so, I extended a hello. She would not look at me, And she muttered a hello; def. not courteous.However, the young fellow at the deli counter was courteous.2 Stars because the young guy at the deli counter was courteous; were it not for him, I experienced 1 star treatment.

Apple Pay doesn't seem to work here. And the store cashiers are super rude and unhelpful.Couldn't recommend any less!Zero stars.

The time is 11:55pm (the store closes in 5 min at midnight) I'm only getting a gallon of milk, and the employees part of the closing crew won't even allow me to go inside for a basic necessity (the door was closed so nobody can walk, only letting people out). Is it petty that I'm doing a one star review for this one reason? Absolutely. But regardless I personally feel disrespected given the fact I've been shopping at this store for over 20 years and they won't even give me 5 min to get a gallon of milk

I haven't been to this location for a while but today I was reminded why.. Dania and another worker who was sweeping across from her the entire time I shopped were so rude. I had a question while at self check out and when I asked for help, I apologize for interrupting their conversation because her friend made some comment in Spanish and laughed then Dania came over annoyed without even letting me ask my question.. and I noticed she was the front end manager. What a shame because I would've expected better customer service from her. It's too bad because this is a big Safeway location and is full of potential.
