We visited the northern beach area just south of the campground. There was ample parking (pay by app) but we used the pedestrian bridge across the train tracks to cross from the hotels. The beach is a very thin strip that alternates between sand and rocks. It is a great beach for walking! If you want sand to lay out your towel there is plenty of room, if you want picnic tables There were lots of dogs. The beach is VERY clean!

Kind of lame. Not much room on the beach. Not my first choice. Kind of rocky as apposed to sand which I prefer.

I love walking down Palisades Drive and hanging out on my bench and watching the waves. The sandbags aren't really helping preserve the beach, unfortunately. :(. High tide is doing a lot of damage to the shoreline.

Coming from Chino Hills and heading toward La Jolla this was the perfect place to have a pit stop for a quick beach walk. I collected some really amazing rocks that made for awesome souvenirs. There was nothing super amazing but just off the beaten path from tourists. We didnt stay very long at all but it was the idea of not constantly being around people that I loved.

Could be my imagination but I’m pretty sure the parking lot used to be bigger. Either that or the ocean is rising idk.

How is it that I grew up in Orange County and hadn't ever heard of this place until about two months ago?! What a true hidden gem that's just south of Dana Point and north of San Clemente! The parking area that used to be close doesn't appear to be in existence anymore (half of it looks like it eroded). You can park on the main street - on the other side of the train tracks and walk over. Good to get some exercise anyway. Even though this is new to me - it's been pretty quiet every time I've been there. Nice for an evening stroll 2021: 57/100

Very rocky big and small, lots of small rocks on the beach so a rather rocky walk along the shore, tight parking but easy to access beach, train tracks very close to parking, a private resident community behind parking area.
