Some windshield repair places are all about upselling you into a new windshield but not this company. They don't provide that service, they only do repairs and are completely candid with you about what to expect and why. Instead of telling you what you wanna hear, they tell you what you need to know. Every chip and crack is different. I learned a lot! That kind of pure honesty is rare these days. Plus their technician is a very affable and helpful guy...a real pleasure. Oh and they cost nearly half what the company on the TV with the catchy song charges. Dana Point Windshield Repair sets the customer care bar so high, other glass companies need to charter a plane just to see it.

Ok, here's the deal- the guy who runs this does his own work, is his own boss, is funnier than hell, and the kind of naturally smiling pleasant, even happy kind of guy that brings a smile to your face just being around him:) AND, all that aside, he's been doing this for years, is quite the artist, takes less than an hour, and it took me several minutes to find where the chip had been in the windshield! In short he KNOWS what he is doing, comes right to your car, and is most likely the most pleasant auto related experience, you will ever have :) I'm coming up seventy years old now, been around a bit, been more than a few places, seen more than a few things, have restored a number of my own cars and let me tell you, like the star rating above, ..this IS 'as good as it gets!!!'.

I've been at this shop a few times now and so far I am very impressed with the warm greeting and service. The owner Tom has gone totally out of his way to make me happy . I've watched the way he interacts with some of his other customers and he treats them all so nicely as well. It's truly the customer service and quality of work that makes me want to continue doing business with any business and this one is definitely one I would keep going back to. Thank you Tom!

Came here on a recommendation and it was a great decision. I have never had a great mechanic. Most aren't trustworthy - just hustlers, making it sound like they know a lot, but then a week later when the car isn't running great or they made you do something you really didn't need you get jaded again. But, Tom is the oppossite of this. He is very knowledgeable (30+ years means something), genuine and honest. After having our Mini Cooper at another mechanic for three weeks (couldn't figure it out but still charged over $300), had it towed to Dana Point Foreign Car, and Tom had it done a few hours later and it runs like its brand new. I highly recommend ...

We've been taking our cars to Tom for what must be decades. We wouldn't go anywhere else. Never any problem popping in for any sort of minor problem. They are always ready and happy to help out, and we trust them completely. My BMW convertible is almost a classic, and Tom keeps it running like a top. This week Tom actually drove 15 miles to my place of work on his day off and quickly fixed a problem so I wouldn't have to have it towed. Now that is incredible customer service.

Tom said I needed a new water pump and lines. He charged over $2,000. I showed him an invoice that he had replaced the water pump two years ago and charged $1300. He implied not his problem

I am a rock magnet. Brand new car for 6 months and already 2 chips. Scott the owner arrived on time and is very professional. I can barely see where the chip was. I've used him before and can definitely recommend.

Tom and his crew do a great job in servicing my late model Jaguars. They are experts in solving obscure problems and getting my cars on the road on time and at a reasonable price.

My wife took our Daughters car for the first time several months back. We did not know Tom nor were we referred to him. By luck of the draw we have experienced the nicest and most honest mechanic I've ever met. Hard to find reputable businesses these days. Luxury to have a good mechanic.

Horrible, horrible, horrible is all I can say! I took my car in for an ignition coil replacement with STAR MOTORS but ended up with Tom, the owner of Dana Point Foreign Car Service, which is directly next to Star Motors. Anyhow, Tom advised that it was a bad battery instead. So, he gave me a quote and began taking the battery terminals off. My wife called and advised that the quote was too high for a battery replacement so she asked that I bring the car back. I apologized to Tom and told him that I wouldn't be getting my battery changed there and he got upset and began cursing. "I'm giving you a f*** good deal not charging you $70 for a diagnostic ." I don't understand why he even said this because, before coming in, I told him that I called the shop (STAR MOTORS) and that I was told that the diagnostic was free. When I apologized again while he was putting my terminals back on, he then said, "you should," while still cursing under his breath. Then he continued to say that I should get a battery from Costco and have my wife replace it. How rude is that! I can't believe he said that. As he was trying to jump my car so that I could be on my way, it wouldn't start; it started up fine for me the two times I jumped it. Then he asks if I had Triple A and I said that I didn't. He then goes to say that I had to get the car out of there. He goes further and asked if someone was coming to get me, and needless to say, I said no. After a few seconds, he tried to jump it again. I asked if he could jump it with another car, assuming that his portable jumper was probably out of power. Sure enough, he tells me that he has to charge his jumper and walked away. He had me wait for him to charge his portable charger. I waited for a good 20 minutes and asked a tech to help me but he was busy on the phone and asked that i wait. No one came out but all of a sudden, a young man from the real STAR MOTORS comes over and begins to assist Tom, who didn't seem to know how to get the car started with his small jumper. Tom let's Jon from STAR MOTORS take over. This gentleman from STAR MOTORS, Jon, spent a good half hour to help me any way he could to get my started. After several attempts, he finally did. He was awesome - so patient, courteous and polite. Thank you Jon at STAR MOTORS! What's more upsetting is that Tom didn't even want to entertain my suggestion of jumping my car with another car. I could have been out of there 45 minutes earlier. His reasoning was because his portable charger is "more powerful than a car is..." My experience with Tom at Dana Point Foreign Car Service was utterly unimaginable.

This is the place I trust to take care of my BMW!! Tom, the owner is very knowledgeable and honest. Forget the time-consuming, complicated and often overpriced dealership. This is a local and respected business for many years. You'll be glad you found it!

It's unfortunate in this day and age to have auto shops that still take advantage of people. I was in the unfortunate situation of breaking down in Dana Point last week and had to have my car towed to this shop. They were nice enough to agree to do the work but overcharged me significantly on the part they put in. I knew the cars' alternator had failed and sure enough that's what they put in. They didn't call me to give me an estimate though, knowing I was held hostage and didn't have a choice..so, they charged me $360 for an alternator that retails EVERYWHERE ONLINE FOR $155! On top of that I was charged for either an hour and a half of labor (for a job that takes less than an hour) or $180 for an hour of labor. Either way, I was completely ripped off. I recommend taking your car elsewhere for repairs if you have a choice.
