Doheny State Beach is a huge beach with lots of activities. It offers a very clean environment with super clean restrooms, lifeguard stations appropriately spaced out, and outdoor free showers. The park features covered picnic areas with sinks, loads of picnic tables and BBQ pits, and grass and shade right by the beach. There is a nice huge parking lot, with parking conveniently in front of the beach, though it gets packed and requires arriving early. A concession stand on site provides great food and drinks, with availability depending on the day and time. The beach itself has a little sandy and sea weedy shoreline with rocks, and the water can be average for swimming, often flat, so checking conditions is advised. It is a great place for surfing, especially for long boarders, though the waves are very crowded. A rental service for long boards and paddle boards is available on site. It is a great park to search for sea treasures like sponges, rocks, shells, and plants.
The location offers a tranquil atmosphere, enhanced by the rhythmic impact of ocean waves against the rocks.

Great park! Covered picnic areas, one which has sinks. Outdoor free showers and a nice beach to search for sea treasures; we picked up sponges, rocks, shells and plants and saw dead crabs and lobsters. $15 for all day parking, a nice huge parking lot. Grass and shade are also right by the beach.
