“I can't believe I became a member of this church 15 years ago... (give or take a year or two - it's getting foggy) I was first attracted by the feeling of family and being welcomed by everyone. After visiting many churches this one clearly was the winner for knowing people truly care. My life was going through changes of moving when I joined the church and has gone through many since. Wonderful pastors over the years. When I joined we had a husband and wife pastor team with funny stories in their sermons. They journey took them elsewhere and we had Pastor Jim who was with us the majority of time I've been a member. His sermon have been from the heart and always seemed to hit home. So now he's retired and we are in change. This is good too. I didn't think so the first time and then Pastor Jim took over and it's been a life learning path always aided by lessons from RLC. I look forward to our next pastor. We have a small but very strong and welcoming congregation which is wonderful and non-intimidating. I am so happy that my children were born and baptized here and continue to strive with the fun children's activities. RLC welcomes all and all are invited at the communion table as well. My family attends the 10:30 service with contemporary music. It's fun, upbeat and they are all talented. Tomorrow is our church trunk or treat and made me think about how much I love having this church for my family so felt I'd write about it.”

“In the past, my experience with Congregation B'nai Shalom has been incidental via their Rabbi. The first time was with Rabbi Gordon Freeman during my Son's conversion to Judaism (at birth) and years later with Rabbi Daniel Stein as he participated in a religious diversity teleconference that Gayle organized through the City of Pleasant Hill. It was only during the 2nd night of Pesach (2023) that I physically set foot in Congregation B'nai Shalom as part of their Community Passover Seder. As I happened to be in town that week, I very much appreciated this opportunity to break matzah with this slice of the Bay Area Jewish community. There was so much to appreciate:- The hard work of the folks who put this even on, including the program, table service, the food buffet, and of course set up and take down.- A meaningful and relatively short Seder. This was not the Orthodox version that tries to finish as close to midnight as possible. At the same time it hit the right notes and was nicely led by Rabbi Stein and Ḥazzan Sandy Bernstein.- The interesting and friendly folks at my table.Let's see what happens next year....”

“Just saw their production of Living Art called The Story. It was so incredibly beautiful and the Gospel message clearly presented. The orchestra and choir were fantastic! Praise the Lord for quality individuals using their talent to present quality content that glorifies the Lord.”
