Showed up on my first day on 3/21/2017 and never looked back. This place is clean, safe and supportive. Love the community!

Horrible with kids. Students mostly running the 4-6 year old staff. Mike insulted my 4 year olds, didn’t make it fun and ruined the sport for them. They won’t try another gym after this place.

My twin sons attending this gym last summer. The coaches were ok. The owner was absolutely horrible with their age group. He was rude and tried to be sarcastic which does not work with 4 year olds. I believe the owners name in Mike. He lives in Idaho and was flying back one day a week in the summer. Unfortunately, it was the day my sons attended. I discussed my issues with Josh who assured me he would be around less after summer. We bought a 10 pack punch card. By the 8th class my sons were crying by the time we pulled up to the gym. I didn't make them finish. They do soccer, baseball, gymnastics, music and attend school I have never had this issue with them. I'm writing this review now because they charged us another $150 each because the 10 class card is auto renewal after a year. I was never told that. A 16 year old did our sign up and never mentioned it and now they are refusing to return our money. I disliked dealing with them when we were attending and dislike it even more when we haven't been in over a year

Coaches are mainly older students for the younger kids. Not great when children are the ones dealing with 4 year olds. Also, the 10 class card is auto renewal. The 16 year old girl who took my credit card information failed to mention that and now they are refusing to refund our money. Love, Courtney

The best. Admittedly, the only gym I've trained, but I love the place. Top notch instructors, plenty of belts of all colors-everyone helpful and encouraging. No better place to blow off some steam, learn, get better and push your comfort zone.High level BJJ with low level attitude.

I booked a class for adult BJJ, via the app, about a week prior. I called and asked for pricing. And was very excited to start training again. Only to be completely disappointed by having the Instructors flake on the class. Waited 20 minutes. Just to give them a chance. Nope. I’ll be taking my business elsewhere. Totally unprofessional.

I would not even give half a star to this place I went to this place today after reading all the great reviews , but the instructor there was just plain rude !!! No professionalism at all ..Also no one was wearing any masks especially the adults sitting and watching .I would not go there or recommend anyone !! He is working with kids but the way he spoke to my child was COLD & RUDE!!!

It's always been a little uncomfortable walking into a gym just because sometimes you just don't know what to expect. If your new to Jiu-Jitsu or kickboxing this is the place! People know you're new and really take the time to make you feel comfortable and make sure you get off to a safe start and really help you with the basics. My daughter also started training here as well and it's done nothing but help her build confidence and leadership skills because of all the great mentoring she gets. I'm so glad they've opened back up.Highly recommend!

Absolutely awesome. I've trained here for a couple years now, as well as my teen daughters. Before moving out to Danville I trained for several years with a world champion under a famous BJJ association, as well as visiting several schools, and I can confidently say this is by far the best experience I've had. It's not enough to have champion black belt instructors. It's the personality and desire to effectively and safely teach both out of shape middle aged newbies and the hardcores, that is hard to find. That's one of the things about DJJ that has consistently impressed me.Want to do something that builds both body and mind, that's actually fun? You can't beat kickboxing, and anybody can do it, regardless of ability or even old injuries. The instructors will build you up. The kids classes are fun and challenging in all the right ways. I honestly think it's imperative to put kids in martial arts. Even if they are already specialized in another sport, the benefits of cross training in kickboxing and/or jiujitsu are invaluable. I'm pretty sure a lot of my kids success in sports can be attributed to the hand- eye and footwork of kickboxing, along with getting comfortable with the physical contact. If you are jiujitsu curious, jump in, it's never too late. You cannot find a better place to do it. But my advice is to commit to no less than a year, because at first it will seem like you are lost in all the positions and techniques, but if you just accept the process and go in with a humble mind and have fun, pretty soon you will be hooked. The first time you tap someone out, and I hope it's me, you'll know.I can assure you this school sees it's students as extended family and the care shows in everything they do. That's an intangible that truly sets DJJ apart. As far as cost, I haven't checked around lately, but when I was shopping for a new school, DJJ prices were in line with everybody else. Frankly, I wouldn't leave here even if it was significantly more, the people alone make it worth it (and I'm no captain of industry!)In case all the cheerleading wasn't enough, there's also good parking, easy freeway access, and excellent beer and food yards away.Hope to see you on the mats!

My boys have been training here for over 3 years and they absolutely love it! Steph, Mike and the coaches are top notch and have a natural way with the kids. We really like how they incorporate no gi wrestling into the curriculum, along with muy thai. If you are looking for a new academy, be sure to check this place out!

Mike and 7 of his students and coaches came to our academy (Renzo Gracie Reno) and they were a wonderful addition to Saturday morning’s open mat. They were extremely courteous, controlled, friendly, and had a great jiu-jitsu game - if that’s any indication of how they run their academy, then we highly recommend you pay them a visit. They’re welcome back anytime!

Danville Jiu Jitsu is incredible. I am a 55 year old CEO. I simply can't afford to get hurt. I started learning Jiu Jitsu at Danville Jiu Jitsu about six months ago. My motivation was one third fitness, one third stress relief and one third self defense. I am thrilled to have selected Danville Jiu Jitsu. Here, you learn from world class athletes who communicate in multiple ways to ensure you learn in the way that works best for you. All skill levels are absorbed seamlessly into the classes. The fun and relaxed atmosphere makes it so much fun to learn. Watching and learning from the black belts is a joy. Highly recommended!!

Our whole family is so thankful to have found this place. The instructors are top notch, and excellent with adults and children alike. The facility is clean and spacious, and it’s simply a friendly, welcoming place. This is not our first experience in martial arts, so our judgement is based on plenty of experience, and you’ve got to check this place out, whether you’re a beginner or advanced belt.
