The Starbucks inside Safeway is overcharging people and when it's brought to their attention they just cancel your order instead of correcting their mistake. Really bad for business especially when there is Starbucks across the street

The attitude of its pharmacy is the worst in this high end mature neighborhood. I booked online a time slot to get a senior Covid booster shot, got the email confirmation, also the email reminder, but the pharmacy clerk, was too impatient to check or not knowing how to use the computer, just insisted she does not have it in file, forced me to refill a long hand filled form with an annoying smile of " what can you do? I am in charge here!". That was not the end, the pharmacist Nguyen had no patience at all, spoke fast with an accent said something I could not catch so I had to beg her pardon to repeat, she just dashed out, mad and rude. Finally she came back, gave me the shot and walked out without a word. I want to point it out here that even the vaccine shot is free, it is a US government paid on my behave service of $249, I should be treated as a paying customer but neither of the two seem to understand ! ! I believe the pandemic has changed everyone's working attitude and their work ethics too.

Safeway Blackhawk Worst experience I've had (as of late). Tried to get a money order (knocking on the door that says WELCOME)...no answer...knocking, knocking....finally a checker comes over and says the PERSON that does money orders called in sick, sorry....then, I'm at a check out area where this poor cashier is dealing with this woman who has a ton of coupons....people are in a long line waiting....dirty, non service oriented place...the shame is it's conveniently located across the street...I don't care, I'll never go back. Not worth putting up with bad customer service!

I hate I have to give this store any stars. 1. There are so many Mexicans that work there and all of them are extremely prejudiced towards black people. 2. I came here and the organic section was really scarce. There were no organic fruits. 3. There was a Mexican lady working the bakery who stared at me in total disgust not speaking to me offering me assistance or anything. Every-time I looked over she had such a horrendous look on her face but never stopped staring at me in disgust. I stood at the bakery counter five minutes before someone else came and offered assistance and at that point I didn't want any service. 4. As I was checking myself out a Mexican lady who was roaming the floor prior to me arriving at self check out noticed me go to self checks out and immediately came behind me to hover over me to ensure I was paying for all of my items. I had three of the same items and scanned one three times. She came over to me and tried to tell me I had to scan each one individually. Girl these are the same exact items I do not have to scan each one, I can scan one three times which I did. She then stood next to me as I continued to scan. I politely asked her if she would go police other shoppers. She then disappeared and came back with several Mexican male employees to watch me finish purchasing my items. One even followed me out the door. What great customer service they have. The store itself looks decent could look better. I think the staff here needs a more diverse team and the Mexicans shouldn't work here. They're too racist. Each time I come here I spend $4-$500 shopping for my catering company which is every week at this store. With the new employee roster I'm going to start going to Whole Foods and Trader Joe's. Definitely not a good ambiance, not a great stocked store. Definitely needs new management. Seems like there's new management and she only wants Mexicans working for her.

Thank you friends at the bakery for the incredible birthday cake, cupcakes and donuts! Everything was so fresh and delicious and such a great value. We are new to the Danville area and will make you our first choice for all events!

I stopped by this location Wednesday 29th at about 10:35pm. Bobby the cashier charged me twice for a water melon which they Are buy one get one free. I told him that I should pay for one and get one free, he was rude and asked me to stay in line to get refund. I thought he was not apologetic and rude. I do not appreciate people like him however, I should give him some sympathy, he is at this age and is a cashier in Safeway.

Went to order cupcakes today and the service was terrible. The lady who assisted me with my order (did not get a name unfortunately) was so rude and dismissive. She was clearly annoyed with all my questions like what flavors are available, what quantities can I order, etc. The most frustrating aspect was that she could not and answer my question regarding nut allergies. I had children coming to the party with nut allergies and I needed to know the allergens. She again seemed annoyed by my question and tried to dismiss it. I pressed because of the seriousness of the allergies and asked where I could find that information. She didn't know and finally she told me to call tomorrow and speak to someone else. I did call the next day and the person I spoke to was much nicer and answered my allergy question. Also, the cupcakes I received were pretty good and looked good. I would rate my experience higher but the associates attitude toward my allergy question is just inexcusable. This is a life threatening issue and her lack of knowledge and concern were a -5 for me.

I had a really really weird experience today at Safeway. I parked by the cart area so I could get a returned cart to tote around an infant seat with my kid it in, and my other 2 kids. I had my infant seat in the basket area, my middle in the seating area, and my oldest was helping me push the cart in. I was stopped by a worker telling me I couldn't go in with a returned cart. Like, what?! Really?! So he made me take all my kids and put them on the floor. Why?! The cart has been sitting in the sun and the germs were probably killed off. I didn't care if it was a returned or dirty cart. I just want to go in and get my stuff. I don't need a worker telling me I can't bring a returned cart inside because it hasn't been wiped down. This is seriously bad practice. Also, these are not accurate CV practices. My kids were fine in the cart. If I cared I would have come in and wiped everything down myself.

This Safeway has a great selection on wines. The Starbucks is also very nice. The problem however is on shelf availability of items. There's never eggs, milk, and a variety of fruits and vegetables. The onions are always old and beat up sometimes even black. Like who's managing this department? If I want fruits and veggies I have to go to Trader Joe's or Whole Foods making the grocery shopping process extremely tedious. I do like the fact the meat department carry Sol Fish and their Salmons always fresh. The crab here is always small compared to the Safeway at San Ramon Valley Plaza. The African American lady working the meat department is very rude. She doesn't like assisting customers so she disappears to the back or acts busy so she doesn't help anyone. Yesterday she assisted one customer and as I walked up after waiting for my turn patiently she walks away from the counter. I stood there 3-4 minutes waiting for come back. She didn't come back to assist me until I called her over. She had a very condescending attitude. I'll only come here for the meats specifically if San Ramon Valley doesn't have what I need.

I shop at this Safeway as I live close by (not in Blackhawk). I'm giving the store a generous two stars since they always seem to have the things I need. I took a long break and shopped elsewhere recently after a guy posted a photo of a RAT crawling on the bread packages on the bread aisle. I was shocked! Today I was lucky enough to park right in front but I immediately was drawn to how FILTHY the outside area and parking areas are! Lots of garbage and scummy stuff all over the parking spaces and front walkway. It doesn't look like it's been cleaned in months. Also, I think management needs to make sure their employees don't stamp out their cigarette butts on the walkway and leave them. I saw it happen today. What employee litters their workplace this way?! Apparently this is now a Gourmet Safeway after the company's huge investment in upgrades. They've upgraded their prices, too, and now it's time to clean it up!

10 minutes for somebody to show up to the liquor aisle finally just left. Wonder how much money Safeway loses in revenue because their staff doesn't grab the stuff out of the locked cabinets

If you want to see sunshine in human form then go through the checkout line and see Jeff. All the checkers at this Safeway are great, but Jeff will put you in the best mood. He makes it a point to let you know that you are appreciated as a Safeway customer. We are always delighted to see him while grocery shopping! Safeway please give Jeff a huge raise, he is one in a million!
