The Artery is an Amazing Artists Cooperative brimming with unique handmade items from woven scarves and silver jewelry, to pottery and ink prints. A cornucopia of creativity and a fabulous place to find one-of-a-kind handmade gifts
However, on the Art Walk last night and being 83° outside with a light breeze, I walked into a hot store. The air-conditioning was non-existent leaving the air stagnant with strong odors. I couldn't catch my breath. I asked the staff about the air conditioning and an older woman responded robotically that They kept the store at 79°. I left immediately. I'm guessing the odors came from the off-gassing of the different art mediums, i.e. chemicals from clay/paper, fiber, oil, and acrylic prints. etc. However, having visited Logos Books, {Vibrant and friendly} and toured The Pence Gallery {Just Lovely} I must rate the response as a general lack of sensitivity, awareness/ and overall poor customer service. On a day with temperatures in the high 90s and many people visiting the cooperative, one would think they would adjust the thermostat to ensure fresh airflow.

I love this beautiful storeI always find something for myself and as a gift. Beautiful ceramics, paintings ( I like the little ones) and I happened into an amazing quilt artist and bought pillows fir two of my friends (they were made from pictures I gave the artist) and a Maggie wall hanging for my beloved Pembroke Welsh corgi girl who was my companion, now deceased, for 14 years! Yesthis store is filled with little gems--- that are AFFORDABLE

We've visited many co-operative galleries around the country. The Artery is hands-down the best one we've experienced. A terrific variety of art created by top notch artists and artisans. Lots of out-of-the-box creations. Go see for yourself.

Worth visiting monthly if you can as exhibitors/artists constantly change. Excellent helpful staff. Have purchased a variety of things here over the years as gifts and for home. Highly recommended when walking about town.

I’m biased having been a member since 1988. But I wouldn’t have been a member for so long unless I thought it was a great organization. So much to see.

I continue to be amazed at the variety and selection of artwork at this very unique store. I see art in this store that I have seen no where else. The woodwork is outstanding. The scarfs are delicious and I have more than a few. I reside in the Bay Area and these are much appreciated during the winter months (Well, when we had winters). While there are numerous artist who I would love to simply come in and decorate my home I have to say my fave is Laura Morton. Her etchings are wunderbar! Her tall redwoods lift my spirits. They have a wonderful studio sale/show in August and I literally have purchased half of my Christmas gifts during this event. Jimee & Jeff Taylor's blue bowls are the perfect size for dips, soups, and of course, ice cream. That gal who does the humorous dogs is no slouch either. If you have the opportunity and find yourself anywhere near Davis, I hardily recommend The Artery.

We go every year and their selection is always varied with old and new high quality artists mixed well. We always buy something for that upcoming birthday or needed gift, but paying and wraping are always a bottleneck.

I bought 3 great Japanese Block Art style T-shirts there that I love! There's quite a variety of items there, not just paintings and sculptures.
