Not enough workers sometimes, some workers have been rude to me in the past. Other than that there are a lot of machines. The people who clean the bathrooms and locker rooms don't show up every day. Sometimes I'll go in there and the entire bathroom is trashed and doesn't have paper towels or toilet paper.

Good variety of equipment but gets exceedingly busy. Considering the price as a non-student (even with alumni discount) you would think they could take better care to fix broken equipment in a timely fashion, as well as maintain day to day order. Frequently empty wipe containers while workers mill about doing anything but work, weights totally disorganized even at the start of the morning, etc.

This gym has the laziest staff in all of existence. They close at least one day every week because the staff doesn’t want to work and then they leave zero warning. They also refuse to hire anyone who isn't a nepotism hire so its their fault, a never ending loop of lazy workers and a horribly funded gym with broken machines and bacteria everywhere.

A few months ago I was here reading the reviews to decide if I wanted to use UC Davis gym, after reading many reviews that had suggested not to use the services of this facility, I decided to give it a chance. If you don't want to read my whole review, I'll save you the time and say I regret going to ARC.First of all parking is very very expensive. Second, the facility is very crowded most of the time and a big portion of your time will be wasted waiting for people to finish their work out. Third, they have mistakenly charged me for 3 months that I had not even used their facility, and now when I went there and asked for a refund they asked me to submit a request "online" (we already know what that means!) and I can't call or talk to someone in-person. Now I submitted the request online and they refuse to give me refund simply because their policy is that I should get into physical incident and disability or move 50 miles away from Davis to deserve refund. Any other gym you go, is a lot cheaper. Any other gym has free parking, any other gym has someone you can talk to when something like this happens, and any other gym will not take away your money without you even knowing it. Stay away from this place!

can you please replace the sanitation spray bottles near the machines, or better yet bring back the wet wipes

Had to get passports, awesome people working there. Glad they had a front desk though, I would have been lost without help, such a huge place!

Clean, large. Might need more machines tho in the weights area cause it's always super full unless you're really early.

Student staff is alright for the most part, some are not ideal candidates won’t mention names you know who you are! The older staff seriously annoying they wear different color shirts! The gym is ok but school is full of stockers not sure what’s wrong with the people that work at this school or live in the City of Davis in general!

$30,000 in annual tuition isn’t enough to cover a summer membership

Honestly, for a UC gym it’s pretty good.In terms of variety, everything is pretty much covered man, like plenty of free weights (bout 32 deadlift platforms and 20 squat racks) and cable machines. Then a lot random bars in the ceiling to do pull-ups, then like the fit yard and all the equipment in there that nobody uses. Like there’s a whole storage container of fitness equipment that no one uses cause it’s outside. Like there’s dust on these brand new rogue rubber plates, and a log press barbell because nobody knows they exist. There’s freaking atlas stones for strongman workouts like I really did not expect that in there. Honestly, if your barbell doesn’t weigh more than 405 during any part of your workout, the arc is well equipped enough for your fitness needsAND THE CEILING FANS. Man those wide radius fans get a breeze going and it’s the perfect cool off mid set. That AC is blasting every time I come in. AND THE LIGHTING, stg they bought warm lights at the preacher curl station for optimal shadows and definition and GOSHDARN, body confidence through the roof when I stand there.DUDE and the staff man. I probably forget my locker combination every other day I go, and I ask every time for help and I feel bad every time. The staff are thinking like “how did this guy forget his locker for the 4th day in the row”, BUT they do a really good job of hiding it ngl. Like i still feel d*** for forgetting it, but not super d*** ya know and I applaud them for that.If I had improve one thing though, it would be the water temperature of the fountain. It’s room temperature but fluctuates with the forecast. but if it was just decently cold every time, the ARC would be even more perfect. That’s just my 2 cents though. Thanks for staying till the end of this review.

The facility is clean and very large. Most people wear masks and ACTUALLY wipe down the machinery after use. If you want to work a specific muscle group, there are many different machines available, so even if it's busy, your workout won't be held up.

The facility is old and lack of maintenance. I came to ARC to play basketball with my friends. The arc only has 4 or 5 man-basketballs and 2 of them are so old that they look like stolen from a vintage store. The basketball court is overly crowded and half of the court is also badminton court, which makes sense to me because you do not need too many basketballs for half of the court. Most of the water fountain is out of order "due to Covid-19" which is not surprise to me. The student employee are friendly in general but they are useless if you need any help. Please find another gym if you have a choice, but if you are a student here, good luck with forced payment for nothing.
