I found my experience here average at best, when I was expecting them to be a leader in the vet industry. I guess that’s my fault for thinking a top veterinary university might make the difference, but I got charged ~$1,000 to run tests any other vet could have run for results other vets had already given me. I am disappointed, and we waited multiple months to get into this vet. My cat is still suffering from a chronic issue, and given this experience, it’s reinforcing a notion that compassion for the pets is missing and it’s business as usual. I understand that it is difficult to pinpoint issues, I don’t expect my cat to be “solved”, but I think they could do a better job of providing reassurance or taking initiative to help my pet get better given the costs of the visit and the precedent set by the university.I want to note that post-visit, the doctor only communicates through an online messaging system (found the system to be un-user friendly), and they do ancillary charges, so you could very well receive additional billing outside of what they already charged at the appointment.

Great facility with very caring staff. Absolutely the place to bring your exotic pet. Are three legged tortoise got a great exam, and we look forward to having a prosthetic attached to the underside of his shell. Absolutely a five star facility. Keep up the good work!

Incredible staff: from the front desk to the PAs and physicians. The care they’ve shown my dog throughout back surgery and cancer treatment has been phenomenal.

The folks at UC Davis went above and beyond what we have ever experienced!! 10 stars!!We had a dog come in through our rescue who needed a TECA (double ear ablation surgery) this is a very major surgery, and requires specialists. We got into Davis, we met with the wonderful Doctor Kyla Walter (DMV) and her staff. The thoroughness, care, compassion and attention to detail they had when taking on Cletus's case was just outstanding. He had other stuff come up (skin issues, infection due to bacteria that had been growing in his ear prior to surgery) they handled it so incredibly well. We got updates twice a day, and he was so well taken care of.We have gone so numerous specialists in the Bay Area, and UC Davis not only provided stellar care, but they were honestly more affordable than any other place we got quoted.I cannot recommend them enough!! This has been a long journey for this dog and we couldn't have had a better group of experts to help him.THANK YOU DOCTOR WALTER and UC Davis!!!!We appreciate you all so much.

Compassionate and thorough care, both in the small-animal clinic and in ER end-of-life services. I highly recommend, and I believe that UCD veterinary is rated #1 in the world. I feel privileged to be able to bring our pets here.

I am at a loss...For 3 weeks I attempted to make an appt and to talk to the coordinator, no luck. I emailed them at their oncology email multiple times. The last email I sent got a reply, sorry but we cannot help and recommend you take your pet elsewhere. I am stunned. I was never rude, never demanding, only imploring them for an appt.I never once received a phone call. My pet is a 16 year old cat, while I understand her age is limiting, I still want to provide her the best life possible in her golden years. my experience, avoid UC Davis, their positive reputation cannot possibly be true, at least in my experience. So now I hunt for a vet...... Update. I ended up at MarQueen in Roseville and they did the surgery. I cannot say enough positive things about this vet. They are awesome and my old cat is doing amazing. I will never attempt to reach out to UC Davis Vet again. Clearly they don't care about all animals. Only those that they deem worthy.

This is where vets are trained, even my local vet calls them, and they're very kind and helpful, they have always been understanding and considerate. Though I have only used their services online and over the phone I'd take my animals there if needed.

State of the art procedures & equipment with very attentive & empathetic staff. This place does everything by the book, with those who actually wrote the book often watching over the shoulder of resident doctors.

Doctor seemed knowledgeable, and they are very 'get stuff done' attitude. Everyone was helpful and the signs around the campus made it easy to know where to go

My fiancé and I are so impressed with UCD's vet program. Our corgi Annie has Neurogenic KCS (an eye disorder). We have seen our local canine ophthalmologist for over a year to treat her condition. We have spent thousands of dollars at our local canine ophthalmologist but have seen little results. For $260, UC Davis completed a thorough exam, and prescribed a plasma eye drop which significantly improved our corgi, Annie's, quality of life. We are so grateful and happy with the results.

I would give negative 5 stars if possible. Alba Vintro MD is very unprofessional, rude and everything but empathetic. Her entire focus of my animal's care was financially driven. Multiple times during my puppy's 16 hour stay she tried to push me to make the decision to put my puppy down, later to find out that "because of his breed he would be used for research" (verbatim) Alba offered the option for me to take my puppy home "to suffocate and die at home" (again verbatim) I was given the ultimatum of pay THOUSANDS now (and when I say now, 10 min was the most time I was given to make my decision) or put my puppy down. She told me several times that she was off at 9PM so I needed to "let her know now" if I was going to pay the money to continue treatment, every minute she was there passed 9PM she treated us as if we were an entire nuisance. I asked to see my puppy before I made the decision to spend the $6,000 for continued treatment (for 4 days of care after I had already pain $4,500 for what was supposed to be 24-48 hours of care but was asked for more money after 4 hours) and was denied being able to see him. I requested for bloodwork to be done and Alba told me it was $113, I then offered to pay the $113 for and Alba told me she does not need to order bloodwork because her visual assessment tells her what was wrong with my puppy. I highly recommend using a vet elsewhere if you want to be treated like a human rather than a debit card.
