Living in Napa we get to visit quite a few wineries... all have beautiful vineyard views and good wine... but Viader Winery is on its own level. Its wonderful history, the awesome view, and exceptional wine make this a must see/experience.The History- one of the first female owned wineries in Napa Valley, Dehlia Viader. Pretty awesome! The view... best in the Valley (not even close)...The Wine produced by winemaker Alan Viader, is world class. The style of his winemaking, really brings out the natural beauty of the grape and soil, with beautiful aromoas and an elegance that is a nod to the old world style of wine. His style suits my palate preferecnce perfectly!Viader's wine that will last a decade or more in your cellar and when you open it up, you won't be dissappointed. If you haven't been, I hihgly recommend visiting.. it's worth the price of admission.

Delia Viader (who we did not meet) is an entrepreneur and grape grower/winemaker par excellence. Her wines are for grown ups- require aging and patience. Jenny Lee was our host- excellent and knowledgeable. I joined their club as a result. Thanks for a great afternoon! We'll be back.

Finished our mountain day with a trip to Viader. Jennifer welcomed us, and from the start we were amazed. The view is special, the Viader story is special, and the wine is gorgeous. The wines are truly beautiful. Jennifer was kind enough to provide insights on the winemaking and how Alan Viader is looking towards the future with some new varietals--excited is an understatement. If you can make it up to Howell Mountain be sure to take the trip to Viader.

My wife and I were in Napa for 20th anniversary and had a scheduled tasting on the 21st of October at Viader Vineyards. Best tasting experience we’ve ever had ! Roman hosted the experience but the entire crew at the vineyard are great. Not only did we experience some wonderful wine blends , go into the aging tunnels , but my wife also gained some geographical knowledge from Roman about the Napa valley area. Beautiful location , wonderful wine and excellent people !

We tasted here way back in 2012 shortly before opening up our boutique wine tour company, PF WineTours, as we wanted to learn as much as we could while getting the licenses, permits, legal, etc. In order to start doing tours and they definitely made my list (only 1 in 3 wineries make my list, on average, where I will then take the t8me to write a blurb up on them to send out with itineraries) and I was taking clients there for few years on a very regular basis and they always loved it but as I made new discoveries to take people to, I unfortunately let these guys slip down the list and years went by without bringing clients here. A/O Spring 2021, I have started coming here again and clients have been loving the experience, wines and views like crazy! Viader Winery was founded by a WOMAN: Diana Viader back in the 1980s in a world that is still very male dominated, much worse in the early 80s! Diana is also the CEO, the original winemaker (as it should be since human FEMALES generally have much better palates than men amd make better winakers [ think Heidi Barrett, the female winemaker who is the reason for SCREAMING EAGLE to get consistent ratings of 100 points year after year making them.one of Napa's most famous and serious cult wineries). DIANA VIADER is also the current co-winemaker together with her son, Alan Viader. The Viader Wine, a CabSauv/CabFranc blend (2nd on tasting list) truly lives up to it's nickname Liquid Cashmere. The $100 fee is kinda ridiculous and may make you think they are pretentious but NOPE! NOT at all, they really are not! They do have a quite decent fee waiver policy: each 3 bottle buy waives one fee, ..Cool story, too: FEMALE (and now her son as well makes wine) winemaker, FEMALE founder and FEMALE CEO, this is truly a family run business AND it is just gorgeous up there on Howell Mountain looking down on Lake Hennessey!

Excellent personalized tour. Both Roman and Jennifer are very knowledgeable and make the most of your time there. Really feels like a family atmosphere. If this is winery doesn’t pop up on your top list for your first visit to Napa due to less Popular reviews, please pleaseConsider them. The view is absolutely incredible higher up on the mountain versus other wineries down by CA-29. Their food pairings are also absolutely phenomenal with their wines! We spent most of our time with Roman and it felt like time with family more than anything.

This was one of the best tasting experiences we had while in Napa. Viader is a family owned winery and we've been enjoying their wines since I can remember! Roman, their head of Hospitality and Allocations was truly remarkable. He shared the story of the winery, toured us through the caves and did a fabulous cheese, chocolate, charcuterie and wine pairing. We cannot rave enough about this fabulous tasting. In the morning it was chilly so they had blankets for us to keep ourselves warm as we sat outside and peered over the Saint Helena Resevoir and the vineyards. It was a truly unforgettable experience and I would highly recommend visiting to anyone who can get themselves up Howell Mountain.

Viader Napa Valley 1120 Deer Park Rd., Deer Park, CA 94576 | www.viader.com | (707) 963-3816 Please read the full review at: 21+ No pets, other then service animals $100 for a wine tasting, waived if you buy three bottles. We feel truly blessed to be able to visit Viader Napa Valley. Just to hear the amazing story of Delia Viader, the vineyards owner, will leave you feeling empowered and ready to conquer the world. She started Viader in the 1980s as a single mother with three children, and the struggles and hurdles thrown her way would be enough to stop The Hulk himself, but there was no stopping Delia. What she has built is a truly unique experience, and Jen Lee will walk you through it all. From the guest house turned tasting room, the 18,000 square foot caves underneath the hillside covered with Madrone and Manzanita trees, and the spectacular views over looking the thirty-six degree sloped Vineyard, you'll not want to pass this one up! All the stones you see lining the walls of the tasting room, the entry way to the caves, and the paths on the property, are all repurposed directly from the property itself, back when the vineyard was being built in the 1980's and 1990's. Delia hand picks all the art on the property, from all her travels. Her dedication is 100% to her vineyard. Viader stains all their barrels with their own grapes, giving them the absolutely gorgeous wine color you see on the middle of each barrel. Like we said, it is a unique one-of-a-kind experience at Viader. For those of you who are interested in learning a lot and enjoying some unbelievable wines you won't find in your local grocery store (their 2,500 cases per year are direct to consumer), you'll want to be sure to book this very intimate and personal experience. You can request a reservation date online, or better yet, just give Jen a call directly to reserve a date. While you're there and have the opportunity, you'll want to add a bottle or two to your wine collection. Their 2015 Viader is their flagship wine and oh so smooth. The 2016 Viader "Black Label" is truly unique and created by Delia's son, Alan, the vineyard's winemaker since 2006. Their 2016 Homenaje is a tribute wine to Delia's father, who originally purchased the land on which Viader exists today. Everything has meaning, and the stories behind each wine, including their names, are truly unique to Viader Napa Valley. As Viader sits above a reservoir, no pesticides or other chemicals may be used, so Viader's wine is naturally organic! If you're reading this while we are still here at Bothe-Napa Valley State Park (through the end of November 2020) please swing by spot #13 for a brochure and a referral card. If you happen to read this after our departure, please let them know you read our review - Olivia and Lance (www.ollancia.com)!

Great vineyard, but careful with the membership! We visited this vineyard in August of 2019, and had a wonderful experience and loved the wine. Our favorite part of the experience was the beautiful view from the vineyard and the property.Unfortunately, we can't say the same for the experience following our visit. We recalled placing a one-time order for wine, and after receiving our initial shipment, were then sent a second shipment. We inquired with the vineyard, regarding the extra shipment as well as charges (as good as the wine is, it is somewhat pricey in our opinion). We received a quick response from the owner, stating they would get back to a shortly, and never did. I followed up stating we had not received any communication, and they stated they had sent me an email and that perhaps it was in my junk folder (never found it ). They sent us copies of the forms we signed at the vineyard, none of which disclosed any recurring charges or membership requirements. By this time, our only choice would be to dispute it with our credit card, or simply enjoy the additional $900 worth of wine (6 bottles, which again for us is slightly pricey, despite being wonderful wine). We decided to let it go and not dispute it.While I would recommend the wine and the vineyard for the experience, I would recommend caution with regards to signing up for any membership and making sure that all details are disclosed! Most other vineyards we visited during our Napa trip, had more clear communications and policies regarding purchase requirements and membership requirements.

Loved this place! The view is one of the best views we ever had... coupled with wine and cheese, it makes it even better!! Our host was amazing and even gave us a tour of the property.... definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Napa!!!The only thing I would say is that it’s a bit pricey compared to other wineries! $100 each is a little bit more than we paid in other places.
